This quad has taken over my love for my Clair Obscur(previous love from Chanel Les 4 Ombres)
This is sultry and smokey with slight warmness to the shades. it is sort of an elephant taupe color theme which makes it so special and much more wearable. Less ashy, hint of warmth and goes especially well with a red / dark vampy lip. I felt Clair Obscur was lackluster and a bit ashy on me so i much prefer this quad, it is more dramatic, have different textures throughout the 4 shades and more pigmented as well. I dont like anything leaning too ashy/cool because it can bring out the color of dark circles under my eyes
i will start with my transition eye-shadow in 22 Visone(any neutral brown would work). Then I use this quad clockwise:
1st color (top left)- a light taupe that reminds me of Mac Omega but a lot more flattering on my skin. Its less ashy/dirty, slightly darker and warmer. i can use this on its own to create a shadow for my crease. I like the effect it gives layered with the next color
2nd matte (charcoal grey) – this is a basic deep grey i use to go over where i used the first color above to deepen the crease, its very matte and a bit drier in formula than the other colors. This would be perfect to line the lashline or used to smudge liner. This reminds me of Mac Brun. Its really beautiful to add more depth with this one before laying down the darkest color of this quad
3rd color the lightest shade with sheen(bottom right). This is my favorite color of the bunch because it has a beautiful sheen that leans pewter gold. Its grey but also has that hint of warmth. Its lovely to catch the light in the center of the lid. This is a lighter version of Mac Patina.
4th deep brown grey with a sheen(bottom left). i love using this in the outer v to add drama. It has a red purple shift but isnt noticeable on the eyes. Its my 2nd favorite shade because it is so unique. Its dark but not as dark as black and it has that warmth from the brownish red purple tones running through it. This one reminds me of a cherry cola shade(maybe Mac Mulch but deeper and cooler) this one is super unique i dont think i can find a dupe.
Lastly i would put New Moon cream shadow by Chanel as a topper in the center of my lids. It adds very sophisticated glitters and a rosy hue to the look. Very sultry and sexy
The shimmers and sheen of this formula isnt anything over the top. Its really beautiful and muted, classic Chanel look. They’ve really improved their eyeshadow formulas and im very impressed. Blends well together and lasts all day. The Blurry Grey quad is my go to night out special occasion shadows of choice. I def fell in love with this quad at first sight because it screamed sophistication, its perfect for the Fall/Winter time!! Looks beautiful with a dark campy red lip or any red lip!!

I was in Ottawa last week and the Shoppers Drug Mart in the Rideau Center carries pretty much the full line of Chanel cosmetics. I was able to get this beautiful quad for 20% off (one of the benefits of being over 50!) and, as I often do, I paid most of the balance with Optimum points so I think this cost me something like $5.00! As this sells for $70 otherwise, you can understand why I love visiting that particular SDM location! But otherwise, this certainly isn’t exactly cheap for 4 shadows so I rated the regular price accordingly. While this is called “Blurry Grey” it is really more a cool toned collection of brown shades, from very light and silvery-taupe to a darker, somewhat burgundy brown shade and with both matte and more satiny finishes. It’s a wonderful, wearable, practical quad that can go from “natural/neutral/no-makeup looking” for work to much richer, more smoldering and smokey looks. It is a really lovely palette and typical of Chanel’s best shadow releases. Even at full price, this is a worthwhile purchase.
