I got this duo at a discounted price, but I would gladly pay it full price. This duo is wonderful for my hazel eyes, especially the bronze shade. It is very pigmented and wears beautifully. My only complaint would be that the lilac shade is not very pigmented compared to the other shade and it won’t show up as much on medium and + skintones. For light skintones, the lilac shade adds a nice wash of color and compliments the eyes. This might be my favorite spring duo!

I really like this duo it’s another lilac brown combo bit like nouveau mode which I also love but more intense. I like jezebel as an evening set for me. On pale skin blue eyes I think it’s lovely the lilac and copper is winning combo. Maybe it suits pale skins better looking at the other comments so if you like golds and bronze colours I think you will like this.

I’m also surprised at the lack of love for Jezebel. This is my favorite NARS duo thus far. The lavender is lightly lovely, and blends flawlessly with the sable. (Sable makes a great eye liner, too.) This somehow looks natural and flattering on me despite being pretty strongly pigmented. Very nice with blue or hazel eyes and pale skin, like mine.

Described as a shimmering lavender and shimmering sable on the NARS website, on me the lavender shade reads more of a sheer lavender with a bit pink tones and the sable side ironically reads more rosy pink but no brown/black that I expect sable to be on my lids. That is not to say that it is a bad shade at all, just disappointed that wasn’t sable. But truth be told, I was half hoping that the sable would read more of copper/bronze shade, since technically I don’t have one. I am not wild about the lavender shade but personally I feel that pastel shades on my skin tone make me look ashy. I wished the sable was offered as a separate shadow but I will manage. I use the lavender as a slight highlight or a wash of color over a darker base shadow.

I really like this duo. First, the color pairing is very unique and original. Also, the colors are highly pigmented. The brown shade is a bit dark for my NC30 skin, and because it is highly pigmented, I have to be careful to apply it with a light hand. I found that if I apply the brown in the crease first, and THEN apply the lavender shade to the lid and blend it into the crease, it softens the brown a lot. Color-wise, I find this duo gives a “wow” factor to my hazel-green eyes. I think NARS has a lot of great duos for green/hazel-green eyes (Charade, Cheyenne, Bohemian Gold, Isolde, Balthazar, Key Largo, etc), so I am really a fan of this line. When I browse other eyeshadows from other brands, none seem as unique and fresh as the Nars ones IMO.

So…I agree with a lot of the comments here about the difference from compact to eyelid in color. It does look muddy, the colors are washed out and look dull. BUT…if you wet your brush and put it on, holy smokes what a difference a little H2O makes. The Liliac looks exactly like the color in the compact, as does the bronze. It takes a bit of patience and practice, but if you make the effort and stick with it, you might be pleasantly surprised. I am taking away two lippie’s because it should be marketed as a wet to dry, otherwise it is a huge dissapointment using it the old fashion way.

I am shocked at the negative comments! I LOVED this color on me! I Can’t wait for the winter/fall months to roll by for me to use it, even maybe in the spring. I asked for a neutral, nonfussy duo with color. It of course looks like I am wearing eye shadow, but is very neutral on my olive skin tone. It gives me a very polished, etherial look.

I thought it looked really pretty in the pan, even though I really don’t care for light lilac shadow. I put the light color on my lids and used the bronzish one in the crease and as a light wash over the lilac. I thought it really made my bluish/greenish eyes POP and I almost bought it, but then I saw it in daylight and changed my mind. It was really muddy and insignificant in daylight (although eyes still looked great) and not really defined as a color. It wasn’t as dark in daylight and sort of just blended in to a dirty color against my skin. Unfortunately this is the only type of color that highlights my eyes. Mud!

Received in swap and as much as I love NARS this is not for me. Now if you are looking for that death around the eyes heroin addicted look this is the duo for you.
Will keep for Halloween or maybe swap it. Just say no.

This is one of those duos that just makes me look awful. Its a sheer pale lavender and a shimmery reddish brown. I thought it was more brown in the pan, but on my lids, the reddness really shows up. Gives me that tired look. The soft purple is pretty but fades quickly. The reddish color lasted all day (of course) and is super pigmented. Overall, big disappointment. Retails for $30.
