My first venture into the Laura Mercier eye shadow world and one that I’d take again. I will give it to this product for design, the shadow looks like a tufted pillow and the compact is deco sleek. The amount of product is staggering and not likely to be often replaced unless damaged. I’ll get to that later. The effect on the lid is lovely as it can be worn as a sheer wash or layered to desired intensity. This never creased on my lids, something of a miracle in and of itself. So, why won’t I buy this again you wonder? The color and the compact. First, for unknown reasons after about a week residing in a drawer the entire cake of shadow dislodged from the compact. This wasn’t in a million pieces, just the square cube of product. No big deal, I took a wad of tissue and compressed the shadow back in the compact. Bullet dodged. But, the big reason I won’t repurchase this is the color. I was so wanting a romantic rose gold shadow to complement my blue eyes and PPP neutral complexion. This color is a combination of copper, apricot, rust and metallic gold shimmer. No. Rose. Anywhere. In the pan this looks stunning, on my eye not so much. Look, this isn’t horrid, it just is not rose gold. It’s new copper penny color. Beyond that, if you have a warm toned complexion buy this now and relish in the beauty. If your cool toned run.
