This is soooo pretty to me. Essential if you are interested in mattes. I really didn’t have any mattes except the ones in Chocolate Bar and I was getting bored of those. So I picked this up along with Over the Taupe, Damage Control and Skinny Dip. I found the new formulation to be a little chalky but I can still get this to apply well and the pigment to show even though it’s a light color. I don’t have Mac Quary either but this is a light lavender taupe and very flattering. It’s definitely a fave for a simple but pretty everyday look.
The packaging is really cheap and breaks easily, unfortunately. The window of this started creaking when I tried to get the sticker off.
For what it’s worth, Nyx came out with Beyond Nude matte eyeshadows and there’s a color called “Undress Me” that’s darker but similar in color family and a much better formula.

This is a lighter, more lilac version of MAC Quarry, and is, what I thought Quarry was going to be on my skin. Its application, is maybe even a little smoother than that of Quarry, and I found it lasted as long as any other shadow I use. The texture of these shadows is surprisingly creamy and goes on very evenly. I like this very much, however, I had a tiny reaction to it, so I’m not sure I can use it. I don’t love it more than Quarry, but it’s a nice change, once in a while. This is a great find in an inexpensive line. and a true matte to boot!

I have been frantically searching for dupes for my 2 HG matte shadow colors I use pretty much EVERY.SINGLE. DAY for a natural daytime eye look. I purchased the Limited Edition Tarte Bon Voyage 2014 Holiday kit with the 25-eye shadow palette full of neutral matte shades. I’m SO over all the Browns & Tans in every single palette put out over the last several years. ENOUGH! I gravitate toward the subtle, girly, feminine, dusty-mauve-rose-plummy-taupe shades that look perfect with my medium skin tone, bright green eyes and light blonde hair. I’m already hitting pan my two HG Tarte matte shades ‘Palace of Versaille’ and ‘Moulin Rouge’ from the LE XMas palette… Enter NYX ‘Coquette’!… It looks a smidgen darker in the pan but comes off as almost an exact dupe for the Tarte ‘Moulin Rouge’. I’m going back tomorrow to buy several back-ups of ‘Coquette’. I use it as my crease color over a lid base color of NYX ‘Cupcake’ (which is also a pretty close dupe for my other HG Tarte pale pink matte shade ‘Palace of Versaille’.) I have just started venturing into the NYX stuff and didn’t really care for the shimmery eye shadow options on my more mature eyelids. I am totally impressed with these matte shadows! They are soft & buttery with zero fallout. They are amazingly simple to blend out and build up. I love that they don’t lay down too much pigment at once as i definitely prefer a more subtle daytime look. I’d rather build up color than have to try and work with colors that are way too dark/pigmented from the jump. LOVE this shade & Cupcake. Will def buy more of these. You can’t go wrong at this price. These two I have purchased easily perform as well as my stock of UD, TooFaced & Tarte matte shadows. I’m totally impressed!

New hot singles from NYX, coquette is a matte taupe plum. It looks very similar to mac quarry used to own, but not anymore so I can’t compare.
Its really smooth, not that pigmented I would say, no fall outs. I love to use it on the crease paired with NYX cupcake. Or as a base with an other shimmery eyeshadow over it.
Makes my green eyes pop.
I will not repurchase because I am really disapointed NYX changed its formulation, plus they hold fake rigged contests online, so that’s my 2 cents.
