I got this in a recent GWP and I really dislike it. Compared to the quality of some of their singles or the other palettes like Taupe Craze (gorgeous quality) or Bronze Amour (some fallout but amazing colour) this is a disappointing failure.
Shade by shade starting at the top with a sparkly sheer white shade that has instant glitter fallout. *fixed with scotch tape*– but the next thing is the shade, it’s a patchy polar white under the sparkles. Shows up in spots, skips other areas. Doesn’t last and doesn’t even have the opacity to act as a good inner corner highlight even, let alone work as an allover base shade (as Lancome suggests) to allow for blending the others on top. Worst of all the shades. Find a good base shade you like, use that and avoid this hot mess.
Middle from left to right. The middle shades are the standout shades, and if I was to repurchase anything, it would be these 3. I wouldn’t buy this set just for these because I hate the top shade, don’t need a matte black bottom shade, and I have some better performing versions of the middle shades. I will list those, but keep in mind I’m comparing the shades on my lids, not as swatches or in pans. If it looks the same on my lids, it’s a dupe as far as I’m concerned, and the ones I mention are much better in performance.
A gorgeous dull old gold shade. I wish this was sold separately, it’s worth getting. Goes on nicely, creamy smooth, easy blending and very little if any fallout. Wow! However I have near duplicates of this shade that work WAY better in my Estee Lauder sets, and those knock Lancome out of the park for quality. Try the Defiant Nude, or Fierce Safari for a similar old gold shade.
A warm almost matte to satin creamy brown shade like coffee with a little too much cream in it. Gorgeous in the crease, or sheered out over the lid. Another winner. But again, got that in several good Estee Lauder sets, Defiant Nude, and Fierce Safari, even my Fiery Saffron set comes close. A drugstore dupe would be in Browntones duo by Maybelline.
Far Right is a bit problematic again, fallout with this shimmery weathered bronze shade but well worth it. Gorgeous colour. Bad fallout with sparkles sprinkling the cheeks. And this I can easily dupe in Fiery Saffron by Estee Lauder without the sparkly fallout. I can come close with one of the shades in Bronze Amour too.
Bottom is a matte black liner shade that smokes out nicely then keeps right on travelling, all over the lid, brow bone, upper cheeks, under the eyes in a serious Panda imitation.
Lexxus is right though, you DO also have to watch out for dark crumbs of fallout with a lot of the liner shades in Lancome’s palettes. I routinely hold a tissue under my eye when applying them. I don’t know why they can’t create the quality of the singles which don’t do that. I have a dark single by Lancome that is creamy goodness that never skips, flakes or crumbles or falls all over the face. Why they can’t make that in the sets I don’t know. Taupe Craze was close to perfect, it’s liner is good. I know they CAN do it, but they don’t seem to care about being consistent.
I would have preferred a black brown to go with the middle 3 shades, but I think Lancome was creating a black and white sandwich with gold filling in the middle.
It’s a bit unfortunate because the top and bottom shades don’t relate to the middle 3 at all, they are warm gold to bronze all brownish undertones, while the patchy white and matte black clash with those shades.
Ignore the white sparkly mess at the top if you get this and just use scotch tape to pick up the fallout of sparkles from the middle 2 sparkly shades. You will need to repeat the sparkle hunt all day long at intervals because these sparkly flakes are the gift that keeps on giving. Hours later you thought it might stop, but YOU’D be WRONG!
If you need a matte deep black liner and don’t mind the Panda look, then that bottom shade will work well. But use a tissue as a shield when applying to catch any crumbs of black. And be prepared for Panda perfect eyes.
No way will I bother forking out the cash for this little hot mess.
Lancome should know better, they are obviously able to produce good quality products–some of which I absolutely love (Bronze Amour, Gaze), so what happened here is anyone’s’ guess.
For almost the same price, with a similar set of shimmery shades, go look at Rebel Metals by Estee Lauder, and you won’t looks back. Very similar shades, similar shimmer, but far better quality.

I normally don’t use brown eyeshadows (they make my eyes look sunken), but I felt a sudden urge to get some for a change. I chose this, since I like sparky shadow.
As instructed, I used the pearly white color all over my eyelids, but it fell all over my eyes and I looked like I had sprinkled confetti over my face! By the way, I did not dig hard on it or anything. It happened with pretty much all the other colors, too. The worst thing was the black. As instructed, I wet the applicator and draw a line, but again, the pigment fell on my freshly powder-set upper cheek. I tried to dust it off only to leave thick black skid marks. I then rubbed them off with a Q-tip and ended up like I have black eye and Frankenstein complexion.
I still have a lot left, so I have to use it up, but it causes me so much frustration and mess on my face!!

Let me start off saying I do think this palette is beautiful and great quality. However, for the colors in it, you can find a cheaper alternative elsewhere. I wanted this because of a youtube review on it, and I have owned it for at least a year and have used quite a bit of it. But I do have similar colors already, and there are better ones out there that don’t have the fallout like this palette has. The packaging could be better as well, my package has broken a little bit, its just cheap plastic.
However, if you do have the $49 dollars for this palette, I do recommend it because it’s stunning, and perfect for the holidays.

This is the eyeshadow palette worn by Kim Kardashian on her “wedding” day. My thoughts of the wedding aside, Kim and I have similar complexions (I’m a NC35) and this palette is just smoldering! This makes such a sexy golden smokey-eye kind of look. The black liner is extremely pigmented and blendable and works PERFECTLY with false lashes or to line your eyes. Be sure to use a primer ahead of time to extend the wear and provide a smooth base for application.
The highlight color is really nice, as well. One of the only Lancome products I will rebuy, the other being their Cils Booster XL mascara primer.
