Rimmel shadows are hit or miss. You don’t think Rimmel when looking for a palette however I was looking for a very specific look and did my research. The end was with this quad. My mission was to find a icy grey palette. I wanted the look of a cloudy snowy day. The dull grey snow, the silver ice sparkles that dance in the trees. The faint charcoal grey cloud you see coming from the neighbor’s chimney. I wasn’t looking for a high impact vibrant contrast and the shadows I already have from Urban Decay, MAC etc weren’t creating the look I was going for. This Glam’ Eyes in Smokey Noir provides that look! I wanted something soft that would pair nicely with a bold lip. This quad works beautfiully with a bright red or pink lip. The shadows are visible and provide pigment but they are sheer. Also, I find the shadows in this quad to be pretty blendable and smooth. Very easy to work with. The look you will get with this is a toned down version of the classic smoke. It’s less edgey and very classy. Very work appropriate too. Instead of lining my eyes with a traditional black liner, I used a dry pigmented matte black (I used Stila but NYX & WnW have matte black too) and lined my upper lid and 1/4 of my lower lid. By lining my eyes dry, it created a soft defined border that worked well with the look.
