I’m in love with this palette!
Beware, it’s a pressed glitter palette, not a shimmer or metallic shadow palette. If you don’t like glitter, this is definitely not for you. These shadows definitely have to be used with a tacky base, such as a glue.
These shadows are so multidimensional. No amount of swatches in videos or photos does them justice. Most of them have a triple or duochrome effect as well as multicolored glitter. Some perform a bit better as eyeshadow toppers, these are the ones with not a super opaque base. But others are more than fine on their own (ofc over the sticky eyeshadow base). Even the ones with a less opaque base, I enjoy wearing on their own for a cool, glitter when the light hits effect on the eyelids.
Was going to type my favorite, but they’re essentially all my favorites! I think the green at the top is the standout for me, though. It gives a similar effect to a Stila liquid glitter eyeshadow, it’s SO glittery, reflective, and gorgeous. I own nothing else like it.
The only disappointing color for me is the dark blue because it has no glitter but it also doesn’t have enough pigment to be desirable as a regular metallic eyeshadow. A bit of a bust. The rest though are stunning, eye catching, and SO unique. They last all day on me without creasing. The palette is an investment but to me it’s worth it because buying a bunch of individual glitters would be a lot more expensive.

I received this as a gift, I never would have bought it with my own money had I gone to sephora and swatched it. The outside design is gorgeous, it looks great sitting on my vanity as long as you can overlook the fingerprints it seems to accumulate. I love Fenty beauty so I really thought this was going to be amazing.
The colors are just sort of meh though, especially in real life vs photos online. I’m not in love with any of them, they honestly remind me of cheap makeup from the 80’s or 90’s and for such an expensive palette I expect more. I saw a palette at hot topic last weekend with literally identical colors and probably more pigment. So I’m sure there are even cheaper drugstore dupes as well if you’re just in love with the somewhat odd color scheme but aren’t 100% sure about it for the price.
The idea behind this palette is that it’s supposed to be eyeshadow toppers, and none of the colors have a lot of pigment on their own. It’s basically mostly glitter with filler, so you’re going to need a nice opaque base to get any color from it. I expected that and used NYX pencil in shade milk as my base.
I wanted to use xtra terrestrial, which is the brighter green shade. First impression of the texture was it isn’t as smooth and soft as I expected, but ok. Trying to apply it with brush, even a flat eye shadow brush to pack on the pigment just resulted in a lot of fall out with very little actual color payoff. Also it wasn’t a vibrant green on the lid, more of a dull shimmery faded green. Not pretty. Out of all the shades the one with the BEST pigmentation is the bright blue shade, midnight bolt. That’s unfortunate (for me anyway) because I cant think of a single occasion where I might need bright blue glitter eye shadow. It just doesn’t work for me.
You get better pigmentation if you use your finger to pack the shadows on but it seems like they either blend away to nothing but a muddy mess or stay patchy. I tried different bases and primers with the same result.
I’ve been reluctant to pass it on because it is such an expensive palette and I kept telling myself I would play around with it some more but the truth is it was going to sit in my makeup graveyard drawer until I gave it away or threw it out. So I went ahead and gave it to a teenage relative who I think is more suited to this sort of look anyway. She loves it, and you might love it too but in my opinion save your money and get something else!

This is not something that I would normally buy, however I received it as a gift and it is fun to have. The first time I tried this palette I had lots of fallout and very little color payoff. I really didn’t get the intention behind these colors as toppers. After experimenting with different brushes I was able to achieve color with less fallout. This is an easy way to dress up mattes or take you from day to night in a few swipes. These will not be your everyday go to shades, if you want to add some oomph to the basics that you already have this is for you.

The Galaxy palette contains 14 powder eyeshadows; Xtra Terrestrial (smoky moss with iridescent green), Lightyear (smoky charcoal with gold glitter), Planet Ex (smoky brown with iridescent glitter), Oh-Zone (sheer platinum glitter), Ultraviolit (smoky violet with iridescent glitter), Sublime (sheer mint and gold glitter), Milky Way (ivory with iridescent glitter), Cosmic Ocean (sheer aqua glitter), Meteor Crush (sheer pink and gold glitter), Jupiter Sand (smoky chocolate with iridescent purple), Mars On Fire (sheer copper rose glitter), Midnight Bolt (true blue with superfine glitter), Space Owt (smoky grape with holographic blue), Sunburst (amber with gold glitter).
Nope, just nope. Fenty Beauty has the same parent company as Kat Von D Beauty and Marc Jacobs Beauty [Kendo], so I thought that as I love KvD and MJ eyeshadows I’d love these too, but this palette is unfortunately such a disaster for me that I’ve now already passed it along to a family member. Every single shade in the palette has glitter in, and all but two of the shades have varying degrees of glitter fallout. Some people say that the Galaxy palette is a palette of nothing but eyeshadow toppers, but going of the brand’s product description, it’s not – the majority of the shades are actually meant to be opaque shadows. This toppers vs opaque shadow issue is my main problem with this palette; five of the shades are designed as toppers so we know they’ll have sheer bases, but I also found 5 [out of the 9] of the opaque shadow shades to be pretty sheer/muted too. Midnight Bolt wears the best in terms of pigmentation and lack of fallout, but how often are most people going to wear a glittery bold blue?! Xtra Terrestrial is also really good for pigmentation and lack of fallout, but the shade looks like mold on my skintone. Sunburst & Ultraviolet are the only shades that I truly enjoyed, and Meteor Crush & Mars On Fire are pretty too – if they weren’t designed as toppers they would have been stunning, but as it is they are two of the worst for glitter fallout as the sheer bases are too overloaded with glitter.
I know that not every palette has to be a complete-look-in-one type of deal, but to me it’s just disappointing and very uninspiring to have the same unpractical finish over and over, paired with such a random jumble of shades – several shades look overly similar when applied and muddy together, then I don’t think that the rest of the shades looked good together when I was experimenting with the palette, so this is a “use alongside another palette and wear one shade per look” type of deal. It means that even if I’d found the product quality to be better, I still wouldn’t have enjoyed this palette. Finally; the actual palette shows up fingerprints immediately & they won’t wipe off again, and the palette clasp is stiff & hard to open.

A bit to much glitter for me. Unless you`re going on stage or some stage performance act, then this may work. The theme color scheme is everywhere . There`s so much color from different families, thrown in! I’m guessing this has a specific target audience. The eyecolors look 80`s. To a RiRi fan, i say buy, this is a collectible,LE & support her new industry. If you`re not a fan, go to the store and try the colors, see if this works for you.

Rihanna’s FENTY Beauty has recently released more items including lipsticks, lipglosses, eye liners, and the hotly anticipated Galaxy Eye Shadow Palette. In the marketing this is described as smoky to shimmery glitter topcoats. At first glance this palette’s shadows look similar to the Too Faced Glitter Bomb Palette. I suspect the formula is quite similar since it performs about the same.
Indeed- most of this palette is meant to be used as a glittery eyeshadow topper since most of these shades (with the exception of two) are not opaque.
