Faux Fur is described by Makeup Geek as “mink brown,” and in the pan it indeed looks quite brown. On NW15 me, though, it looks like a “dirty” gray. That may sound kind of awful, but that’s actually ideal for a soft eyeshadow that mimics natural shadows, so that the eyes, not the makeup they’re wearing, are the focus.
In fact, Faux Fur reminds me a lot of MAC French Grey, a long-gone LE that was probably my favorite eyeshadow of all time. Faux Fur wears beautifully over a good primer on my very oily skin. The pigmentation is generous, and the shadow applies smoothly and easily.
For a classy, understated, super-flattering eye makeup, you just can’t do better than Faux Fur, in my opinion.
In addition, Faux Fur is cruelty-free, and very reasonably priced. The only possible drawback is the fact that it’s sold only as a “refill” pan; you have to supply your own compact.
