This is a unique color, no question. It’s a neutral, matte khaki. It is a dupe for MAC soba, minus the shimmer (and better quality). Very pigmented and buttery. A great choice for my green eyes.

Preppy stands out for me because there is something in the colour that really makes my olive green eyes stand out. It has a touch of yellow but doesn’t make me look like I’m recovering from a black eye. It’s just one of those magic colours for me. It’s matte and blends beautifully. I’ve heard it being talked about as being similar to Urban Decay Buck but there is not comparison to me. Buck is warmer and doesn’t do the “magic” Preppy does for my green eyes. It’s matte and so unique amongst all the UD Naked Pallets and Lancome nudes I own. It’s just HG for me and I don’t have many.

This is one of the more unique shades in the MUG line. It’s almost a mustard yellow brown, but not quite. And it actually makes for some really cool looking neutral looks. I love to put this on the lid with cocoa bear in the crease. The orangey brown with the yellow brown looks really cool, I think.
The texture is pretty soft and is fairly powdery, but if you gently press your brush into it there is minimal fall out. I love that is in a pan. The price is reasonable. As long as you don’t expect MAC or Urban Decay quality, you will be happy with it.

Really disappointed. I got some shadows and lipsticks as gifts from some of my colleagues. I like makeupgeek a lot, however this along with other products from the site are NOT good dupes to MAC. It bothers me that the CEO says her shadows are very well pigmented & high quality, I sadly disagree. Hard to blend and made my face look ashy. I’m slowly going through everything, here’s hoping there is a light at the end of the tunnel

I bought this, but was unhappy with it, its very chalk like and hard to blend….NYX is much better.

Preppy is described as a khaki matte brown, which is pretty accurate. It has a strong yellow tone to it, with no shimmer at all. All of the matte shades I have tried from Makeup Geek have been a true matte which I love, there is nothing worse then thinking your buying a matte only to receive a shimmer or satin. This color is almost identical to NYX Brown single shadow, Preppy is a bit darker.
