This is one of the good Makeup Geek shadows. It’s a bright medium teal, a bit multidimensional. Quite pigmented and pretty. I don’t wear it often but that’s only because I’m a seem to be a neutral girl right now. I used it for a sea witch look last Halloween and I loved it. I used it to contour my face.

I love all of the 19 Makeup Geek eyeshadows that I own but, this 1 is 1 of
my favorites. The color looks just like when you see pictures of mermaids
tails. It’s a pretty green with a tinge
of blue. It has a nice sheen
to it. It blends beautifully.

This is a teal shadow with a slight shimmer and a green cast over the base colour. By itself, it shows up well on the eye, and is quite pigmented; it’s better over a base. It’s blendable but may sheer out a little if you’re too heavy handed. The price, for the quality and the amount of product, is great, and the colour is beautiful. When I swatched it next to some other teals, I found it to be a very, very close dupe for UD’s Shattered. Shattered has more of a green shift and slightly more shimmer, and I wouldn’t hesitate to say it’s better quality- it’s one of my very favourites. But it’s also $17 for 1.5g, while Mermaid is $5.99 for 1.8g (listed as pan weight, so assumedly the actual product is around 1.5)…so if the little differences don’t bother you, you might prefer to pick this one up! It came neatly presented in a little packet, but MUG shadows are only available as pans, so you’ll need a palette to put it in. I’m very pleased with the colour and quality, and I don’t mind having two very similar colours- I’m a sucker for teals anyway. But it’s probably not exactly necessary if you have Shattered!
