Very thick shadow formula, looks caked on. Makes my 40’s lids look super textured and wrinkly. Pigmentation better than Bobbi Brown but not the best.

I think this palette is the nicest of all four of Stila’s “eyes are the window” palette series as the colors are very neutral and the shades all are brown / taupe (maybe even a hint of rose in there) and work excellent together with no muddiness regardless of what combination I use – except for the silver shade in the middle of the bottom row, good for only an inner corner highlight. Most of the shades are light to medium in depth, so if you don’t care for or don’t use dark shades, this would be a decent choice.
I’ve had this palette for about 1-1/2 years and neglected it for the last 1/2 year, and when I decided to use it or lose it, I found the pans in all of my Stila eatw pallettes had hardened. I did both scraping off a layer and using tape to peel off layers, but still found them not working – on the shimmer/glitter shades, all I am picking up is shimmer particles and little to no color, and the matte shades that used to blend nice are now patchy.
I recommend not getting this palette unless you intend on using it alot within the first year of purchase. This is the only one of the series I would even consider repurchasing, but I have a lot of other palettes with similar shades and since I had 3 palletes from the eatw series and all 3 hardened in two years or sooner, I would find a repurchase a waste of money.

The shadows did not last all day even with a primer. Tons of fallout as well when using a brush. The colors were so beautiful too bad the product was terrible.

Love this palette and love the shades! I think this palette is done so well and thought out well as there are so many looks you can make from the 12 shades.
All except one of the shades blend beautifully, however the one shade I struggled with was called ‘character’ which is a rich dark brown with flex of copper glitter. I feel like this shade was just a bit confused, in the pan it has a small amount of glitter through it but on the eye the glitter doesn’t show up at all. But I found this shade to be very patchy and hard to blend, when swatching it on my hand with my finger I found there was a lot of pigment on my finger but it doesn’t transfer onto my hand or arm very well at all.
Overall I love the shimmer and matte shades and found that there was minimal fall out (which is whats going to happen with pigmented shadows). They lasted well on the lid and a perfect everyday palette with so many versatile shades that would work for anyone.

Love! These shades are beautiful and super versatile. The colour payoff is great and the matte black is super rich! I love love love this palette, it was my first Stila purchase and definitely will not be my last. Only thing less than perfect is the tiny amount of fallout from the shimmer shades.

Distraught I didn’t love this palette. When I saw it in store, I immediately had to have it as the assorted of shades seemed made for me and my tastes. I swatched a couple of shades (kitten was one) and the pigmentation seemed amazing. So, despite my bucket loads of eyeshadow palettes, I decided to spend the $70 Australian on my new ‘every day palette’. I also loved that the packaging was small enough to fit in my everyday makeup bag and not take up oodles of space (I’m looking at you Chocolate bar palettes!).
I feel like the shimmery shades are very pigmented but produce a lot of fall out and definitely, do not last on the eyelids. I force myself to wear this palette everyday to get my value, but the shimmer component of my look is almost always all gone by about 2pm in my workday. The matte shades are slightly more long-wearing however, extremely faint and take quite a bit of building up to get it to show up on your eyelid!
This palette does not have the pigment or quality of the Too Faced or Urban Decay palettes. The colour selection is stunning, but it unfortunately just doesn’t perform!

It pains me to write this review because I so wanted to love this palette. The case is gorgeous, the layout is perfection, the amount is very generous. I like that all 12 shades are the same size in the pan, nothing I feel that is wasteful (imo) like double the amount of highlighter shade. It looks great on the vanity and is great looking once opened.
But pretty aesthetics aside, performance for me is what counts. And for me, these have no pigmentation. I have tried this with various primers, various brushes, even ‘old-fashioned’ sponge-tip applicators. I just cannot get the product to apply to my lids. And what little color I do get, is patchy and fades very fast, like in less than 2 hours. The shades also for me do not really look that different from each other on me once applied, if I can get them to even minutely show up. The glittery shades produce a glitter fallout on my cheeks when applying yet oddly no pigmentation on the eyelids. The matte shades are the ones I really get ‘0’ color payoff. At least these did not irritate my eyes, so there is that.
But I would say if you are looking for a nice, neutral palette, this is not a good one, or at least I would swatch these first in the store on my eyes before buying. Very pretty packaging, but for me, these just have a terrible performance. One final note, ‘Kitten’ to me in this palette does not seem the same quality as the individual one I bought years ago and still performs better than this palette version.
Disappointed, because I really wanted to love this palette, and I feel terrible being the seeming voice of dissension here. But this one just did not work out for me. 🙁

I bought this on impulse at Sephora and this was a very successful buy. Firstly, the packaging is great. The case is attractive and has a magnetic open/close feature, which avoids having to force it open and potentially make a mess! It also comes with a huge mirror! The one thing it does not come with is a brush, so you will need your own. I highly recommend one that is good for blending because of how great the colors are for blending!
The palette comes with four matte and eight shimmer shadows. The top row (“light”, “individual”, and “being”) are all mattes. They are pretty much universally flattering and neutral colors that can be worn every day. The second row (“kitten”, “affection”, and “character”) are all shimmer shadows. Kitten is one of the few shadows in the palette that absolutely must have excess tapped off before applying, because of the risk of fallout. Affection was a surprising color, because it looked a little more red on the palette than it appeared on the lids. Character appears to be a sparkly black, but is actually more brown on the lids and the sparkles are not noticeable once on your skin. The third row (“thought”, “heart”, and “peace”) has two shimmers on the outside with the middle being matte. The shade Peace seems quite reddish, but it is definitely brown on the lids. The bottom row (“vitality”, “substance”, and “essence”) has two shimmers and the last one is matte. Essence is super dark, so when you’re as pale as I am you have to make sure that you only use a little bit. It works best as a liner in my experience.
All of these colors are fabulous to apply and blend. There are so many combinations that you can use all of the shades for. Although certain shimmer shades (particularly “kitten”, “vitality”, and “substance”) have some fallout, tapping off the excess will take care of that issue. Another pro is that you do not need much of the product to get good coverage. This palette has very long lasting results! With primer I have had my makeup survive sleep, horrible humidity, heat, and sweat.
I bought the palette for $49 at Sephora. It might be possible to get it cheaper elsewhere, but for what you get for that money, it is worth every penny! I highly recommend this palette! It is my absolute favorite!

Wow! Cannot get over this palette. Such great shades, so pigmented and easy to use. Very natural shades which are also buildable for a nighttime look. So pleased with this considering the price. I have two naked palettes but now use them far less.

This palette is so amazing and versatile. I use is practically everyday. If the 5 star rating on this site is not enough for you and you are still sceptical about spending your money on this, I reviewed it with swatches on my blog if you want to go check it out 🙂
