This 7-pan treasure of a palette sells for $18.50 in Canada (I think it’s $14 in the US), minus 20% when I got it during the VIB sale. As is often the case, a youtube video got me interested and I’m so glad because I’d not even have noticed this palette otherwise. I’ve long been a fan of Sephora’s own brand of products. Sure there are some duds (heck, there are duds in YSL, NARS and Dior) but overall, they have some great products at very affordable prices. This palette offers 3 shimmery neutral shades and 3 matte ones along with a matte “base”/skin toned shade in a larger, rectangular pan. The shimmer shades in this palette put me in mind of some of the shadows from Pat McGrath’s Bronze Ambition palette and the mattes – well, they are all such practical colours along the lines of MAC’s Soba, Cork and Brun. GB281 reviewed the lighter version of this palette and commented that it’s the perfect travel palette and she’s right. While she’s using it to replace her Urban Decay Naked Basics2 palette, I’m using it as a replacement for the original Naked palette, which is no longer replaceable. Since I only like to fly with items I can replace in case of loss or breakage, this palette along with Smashbox’s Minimalist 8-pan palette are now my “go to” travel choices.
This little palette is so handy and the quality is so good. If you are someone who likes more natural and neutral colours and looks, try one of these (they also have 2 more colourful options, if that’s your vibe) – at this price, you can hardly go wrong. I’m thinking of buying a second one to keep in my gym bag!
