This is a really great little trio to have in your collection. I’m not a huge fan of light eyeshadows- I’m all for a deep, dramatic eye look- but this one is a very good little staple to have.
The colors are cool-toned: taupe, dusty rose, and a white. They’re all satin finish. Pigmentation-wise, they’re a little more on the sheer side, but they blend together and cooperate relatively well. You get a subtle look; I really like this as a simple enhancement to my crease or as a little accent to brighten up my eyes. I haven’t had any issues with fading or creasing (with primer, of course). Initially, you’ll get a little fallout, because they like to be crumbly when picked up with brushes.
Its packaging is pretty cheap plastic- nothing out of the ordinary, though. It has a very affordable price label and can be found at almost any drugstore, so I’m not complaining there.
I don’t have anything to really rave about with this trio; I’m impartial towards it, but it’s one of those keepers that will always be there in my collection when needed.

I have sentimental value invested in this trio coz my father bought it for me but I will try to remain impartial! He thought I needed a Family Dollar pick-me-up & he usually picks out really gr8 products, I’m not really a huge Cover Girl fan but this trio is one of their products I liked the best. I’ve been wearing the Country Woods quad for about 15 years & I’ve had this trio in the past but anyways I’m rambling. The colors are very pale & I don’t have a fave but I’ve tried wearing them separately w good results. The one on the left is a cream, middle is a pinky-taupe & the one on the right is a silvery beige frost. That color reminds me of something I may find in the UD Nakeds. This is not the same quality as HE shadows like UD, Clinique, MAC et al., & idk how much this costs, but the colors are ur average DS quality e/s. I think this can probably be had for under <$5 at most places that sells CG makeup. I got mine from Family Dollar but I've seen it elsewhere. It's an old CG standby; it's been out forever. It's not necessarily "boring" per se; but it's not really unique. Every brand had a trio/quad w these colors. On me they are neutral but some may find these leaning on the cool side? They do look awesome w my glasses, a makeup site I recently was looking at says that wearing pale colored neutrals is flattering for girls w specs. I wish that CG would revise their animal testing policy. I would prefer to buy cruelty-free becoz by patronizing companies that support animal testing we are giving our tacit approval of such practices so I would be reluctant to rebuy. This trio comes in a dark blue compact (no mirror) w a sponge tipped applicator. I find myself reaching for this trio often. It has pretty decent staying power esp w a primer such as elf or LA Colors. It fades in a nondescript way after a long day. It does not irritate my sensitive eyes. There isn't a lot of fall out mainly coz the colors are pale. They're not super dramatic/not vivid but this is good for looking every day glam, I think this trio looks good w a cat eye/mascara, & pale pink lips. I am not inclined to buy more CG products, there are other brands I like better for consistently good products. CG isn't a staple for me normally but I do use this trio a lot, it's 1 that is easy & I don't require a lot of creativity when i use this...it's pretty much a no-brainer that it's gonna look fresh/wide-awake/pretty.

These shadows are soft, subtle, but deliver a nice, polished eye. Great everyday neutrals. I was concerned about pigmentation after reading some of the reviews, but I found them to be pigmented enough for my needs. The pinky-nude shade doesn’t show up that much on me because it’s close to my lid color, but both the darker taupe and lighter shades show up well. They are lightly shimmery–not glittery, and they stay on all day. Good quality and I will repurchase.

I am probably in the minority in that I really like Cover Girl eye shadows as a whole. When I don’t know what to reach for and want a natural look I grab for my CG eyeshadows 9 times of 10, often over looking my higher end shadows. That was the reason I recently picked up this trio in Cafe au Lait. The colors in this trio are all very neutral and have a satin finish. They consist of a brighter white, a neutral nude pink and a cool toned taupe. Compared to my other CG eye shadows these are a little more chalky; I find there is a slight amount of fall out with these. The colors are fairly sheer, although I find the white to be decently pigmented and a good highlight shade. The pink is subtle on the lid, it does show up on me but I am quite pale. The taupe is the sheerest of the bunch – it works a subtle crease shade but I would supplement with another darker color for more definition. On my lids these shadows last decently with primer and aren’t super creasey. Even though this trio isn’t the most exciting or unique I know that I will get use out of the colors (esp. the lighter two). It’s not easy to find eye shadows for my coloration at the drugstore, most are too warm toned or too dark, so I appreciate this neutral palette. I feel like it could work well as a jumping off point for other, more colorful looks also, or paired with a strong lip color. But that said I probably won’t repurchase if and when I hit pan on these because I feel like there are better quality shadows out there, even within the CG brand. EDIT: This trio is almost exactly the same as the CG Urban Basics quad, except without the sheer grey from the quad and also the pink in the trio has no glitter in it. Otherwise, the colors look exactly the same.

I initially bought this product while looking for a neutral eyeshadow. This works amazing, all of the eyeshadows look natural and pretty. The eyeshadows last all day and are nicely pigmented. A must for any makeup savvy person’s makeup bag!

This eye shadow is very natural looking and seems to last a pretty long time. I haven’t found it creasing at all from the time I’ve had it. It seems to be fairly gentle and doesn’t irritate your skin any. You definitely can’t beat the price. The only downside is that the packaging seems to break easily, so be careful of that. If you want the eye shadow to last extra long, put some foundation on your eyelids or some eye shadow primer. I personally use the ELF eye shadow primer and it is wonderful. Definitely worth a try! I hope this helped.

This is a great shadow trio for when you want a natural naked eye look. I am fair skinned and this is a very natural look on me with the colors in this kit. The shadows are soft and come up easily with the sponge tipped applicator but they cake up and fall off the sponge in chunks. This shadow is very pale colored and goes on sheer. It is not very buildable either so what you get with a second application is what you get. This is a really pretty natural looking eye and you can’t go wrong with these shades. There is a very tiny amount of sparkle I noticed in them but it really doesn’t show on the eye unless you are using a 10X magnifying mirror like I am. I prefer my Urban Decay Naked basics kit to this one and it needs a darker one for defining, but for the cost this works well enough and I love the soft summer eye look I can achieve with this trio. I will use this up but I probably wouldn’t buy it again. I really would prefer it didn’t have the chunky fallout, I wish it were completely matte, and it needs to be buildable for me. I thought this would do a smoky eye but the darkest shade is too pale for that so the only look I can get from this is a naked eye look. That’s it. So it does that and it does that so very well, but it is rather boring overall and not versatile.

The colours are kind of chalky but it was pretty cheap. They are also close together so with the trio alone you can’t contour the eye. I do like the taupe sparkly shade (darkest) I would not repurchase this.

I rarely use eyeshadow, but when I do I use this! This eyeshadow looks really natural and it’s very easy to wear. It’s great for an everyday look, a lazy day look, or a neutral look, but you it does give you that nice glow around your eye.
It has a very nice shimmer that doesn’t look like you glitter chucks on your eyelid. It’s extremely easy to wear since applying and blending is as simple as 1..2..3!
The only gown side to this is it is very soft and natural that it doesn’t have much pigment. Eyeshadow primer is must if you want this, but I have wore this without primer and it’s okay.
Overall, very satisfied with this and will buy this again!:)

This is another good everyday eyeshadow trio from Cover Girl. I find their trios very easy to apply, good for both beginners and people who don’t want to spend a lot of time blending, applying, and matching their eyeshadows. Because of the ease of use, it was my daily look for a long time until it was gone. The cons are well stated by other MUA users – the brushes are crap and usually disintigrate, and this palate isn’t extremely pigmented, so use a primer. But this means it is pretty hard to mess up because it is pretty classic and understated. It’s a good eye trio to use when you want to emphasize a strong lip or when you don’t want to look overly made-up.
