This is a great eyeshadow quad! The colours look great with my hazel eyes and it stays on really well! The only thing that I would change is the packaging. It looks like really old/old school and I just don’t find it appealing. Otherwise GREAT JOB MAYBELLINE!

I am reviewing the latest version of the Expert Wear “Perfect Pastels” Velvet Crush Quad. I have cool coloring, fair skin with freckles, brown/grey eyes and dark brown hair. I have not worn eyeshadow in quite a long time (except for Wet ‘n’ Wild Creme’ Brulee single, which I don’t really even register as eye shadow but “eyelid perfector” haha). I needed something to look a little extra polished as I am a bridesmaid in an wedding this weekend.
I had a very specific pallette in mind that would include charcoal grey and dusty purpley/taupe hues, and this is the only pallette at Target that fit what I was looking for. I like the layout of the colors, as it includes a lot of the base color, equal amounts of lid and crease, and a good amount of eyeliner color (I think this is very smart distribution on Maybelline’s part). I use a cheapo crease brush to apply this… I used E.L.F. eyelid primer to start.
On my test run (I wanted to practice applying before the wedding) these colors applied beautifully, if not sheerly. However, being that it’s an outdoor wedding, this is just what I wanted. They give a nice shimmer without being too much… a great brightening effect for my whole eye area, really making my brown/grey eyes pop! I applied around 12:30pm and it still looked great when I went to bed at 11 last night. I’m super pleased with that! I applied them again this morning for work and am loving them even more. Not super frosty, and provides a great polished look without looking like heavy makeup. I really love these colors! (I also wear Maybelline Master Drama eyeliner pencil in Coal Commander with this look, a great pairing!)
Edited to Add: The version of this product that I used is the one shown in the third image above, with a light purple lid color. NOT the one shown with all 4 colors in same size pans.

The only pigmented, smooth and creamy color is the white brow bone shade. The other three are powdery and chalky and have a sheer color payoff. Even with a primer this does not last. The packaging is a thin plastic that if dropped will definitely break. Never getting this again.

I had this product forever and I still love it! The packaging has changed and the eyeshadow are more pigmented. Stayed on my eyes the whole day.The colors are absolutely gorgeous for everyday wear. Reasonable price for a quad. Will purchase again 🙂

This was a OK product. No i wouldn’t buy it again because the pscksging was very cheap looking and feeling. the lid always fell off when i would open it. the eye shadow itself, its very shimmery but i like that. the only thing i didn’t like was that its not very pigmented.

This is a so so quad. The colors are extremely sheer and are difficult to build up. (Though the packaging says its a ‘perfect pastel’, so maybe that is the idea).
All in all, I would absolutely love this quad if it were more pigmented.

This product wasn’t a bad price but the colors really aren’t pigmented (enough) and you can get better color for a slightly more (or less) money.

This quad has such pretty colors and i love using this quad!!! It has purple pink and i love love the Blue color you put on the outer corner of your eye!!! It makes the Pink and Purples stand out so good!!! I use all of these colors together and i repurchase this quad over and over too:P If you like this quad you will LOVE Lavender Fields another Favorite purple Quad of mine!!! The Lavender field is Similar to this one but the colors are different:P If you like Purples and Pinks these quads are for you:P These are very PIGMENTED eye shadows and when i use a primer they last all day and i do NOT even have to touch up on them at all!!! Will buy this again:P

I have several other Maybelline eyeshadow quads that I enjoy using, but this one is a dud. Chalky texture, dull colors, and poor staying power, even with eyeshadow primer.
