I have this eyeshadow trio in the newly reformulated version and new packaging. It is perfect for a quick and easy everyday look. If you like pink and purple shadows, then there’s a good chance that you’re really going to like this.
Formulation wise, in my opinion, these ARE pigmented. Not like POW in your face barely put the brush in and it’s too much pigmentation almost, which is the standard many reviewers seem to be holding them up to. But they aren’t unpigmented either. I would say a healthy medium, if anything above what I’d expect from a drugstore eyeshadow.
The colors are easy to blend and easy to work with with the little double sided foam brush that comes with the palette. Also the colors are BEAUTIFUL. The top shade is perfect in the inner corner and as a brow bone highlight. It is a pale pink shimmery frost shade. The middle shade is fantastic for all over the lid. It is a mid toned purpley-pink, leaning more on the pink side. This color has a satin/sheen finish to it but there are also noticeable glitters. It’s one of the most wearable pinks I’ve ever owned. The bottom color is a deep purple crease color. It has an extremely gorgeous shimmery finish.
It’s one of those palettes that’s perfect to use when you don’t want to or don’t have time to think about your eyeshadow look.
The only reason I wouldn’t repurchase is because Maybelline tests on animals and all of these shades can be purchased by companies that don’t test on animals, I’m sure, although I have no specific dupes.

Not a fan. Where is the color in these? I love the colors on this but it sure does take a lot of building up to get any payoff. I mean A LOT of building up. The end result is gorgeous if you want a soft look. My trio does not look like the ones in the picture, the colors are the same (just rearranged) but the pans and packaging are different. Mine has wording that says New/Nouveau on the front so it is likely a reformulation. I just picked this up a week ago so it isn’t one that has been sitting in my untrieds for months. The colors are really pretty in this and are all neutral/warm leaning. The lightest base color is a nude sandy pink/beige, the medium shade is a medium pink with a lavendar/mauve tone, and the darkest color is a plum/brown. These all have some shimmer but it is wearable for daytime and more for adding a bit of light more than sparkle. The base color is the largest pan and that is fantastic since that is the color that will be used the most and the one I always hit pan on first so I am happy to see that they made it so much bigger. I used these over NYX eye base in white and used my own brushes for application. The shadows are a bit dry and powdery and don’t really have a lot of pigment. They aren’t soft at all and you can’t just touch and go and have a loaded brush with this like some others. They blend fine but aren’t the best I’ve worked with by any means. This trio does a pretty eye look and is quite soft and everyday look wearable as well as buildable for a mor dramatic evening look. This is pretty for fall and the eye look I created is such a great look, but honestly the work involved is not necessary as it’s easier to simply grab a different palette and forget this piece of work. I’d say, skip this and find some Wet N’ Wild palettes instead if you are going to buy drugstore shadows. This was double the cost of those and not half as good.

This trio is gorgeous on green eyes; the bottom plum color especially makes my green eye color pop! It is not the most pigmented shadow in the world but I am still rating 5 stars since it’s a good quality shadow that blends well and does not contain a ton of frost and glitter. For the price of around $5.00, it’s a steal.
I really don’t care for extremely pigmented shadows anyway since my small eyes frequently ending up looking like “two shit holes in the snow” when I use them. I’m using a quaint phase my father used to use when he thought I over did my makeup as a teenager. He would scream, “You are NOT going out of the house like that. Your eyes look like two shit holes in the snow”! Hmmm, I guess I’m always trying to avoid that look as a grown adult.

Absolutely terrible. This stuff barely shows up, even after a lot of layering, and it kind of looks like someone punched me in the eye after I put it on. The lightest color I might keep as a subtle highlighter, but the other two I can trash. Definitely not buying this again. Maybelline eyeshadows pretty much have zero pigmentation, and this was no exception.

I’ve been using this Maybelline trio in Crown Jewels for a while now–and I’m really happy with it! It has a silver shade for highlighting, a pink shade and a wonderful mauve/purple/brownish shade. I have dark brown eyes and I find myself reaching for it all the time just to use the darkest shade–it’s extremely flattering. I layer it over primer (concealer, hehe) and it comes across as a subdued smokey effect, not nearly as glittery as you’d imagine.

HATE THIS. Maybelline’s eyeshadow is ridiculously shimmery which leads to a lot of fall out, well in my opinion anyway. You really have to pack on the colors for it to show and it would usually end in a glittery mess for me, it may be because my tan complexion. Blendability is not bad which is why I gave it a two but I was about to throw it away when my bestfriend showed up and gladly took it off my hands so no I wouldn’t recommend nor would I repurchase.

Love, love, love the dark color (a shimmery dark purple). I like the light color (shimmery white). I never use the pink color, but am giving it 5 stars because the purple is the perfect shade for green eyes. I apply the dark purple with an angled eyeliner brush around my eyes, sweep the dark purple over my lids and sweep the white under my brow line. I wish it was also made without shimmer.
The purple really pops green eyes and works well with cool skin undertones.
I still have the old kind in the blue container – it has lasted forever.

*The one I have have the blue packaging. I’ve heard the new Maybelline formula in the black packaging has improved…Give it a try?

Pretty in the packaging, but not on me! I do love the darkest shade a lot! It’s a pretty, deep purple that is really great to line my eyes with but other two shades aren’t great. They are too shimmery and creased easily. It was worth a try though.

I truly love the darkest shade in this trio and I think this is quickly becoming a favorite.
The three shades include a shimmery pinkish silver- the highlighter
a mid toned cool pink (the lid shade) and a darker plummy/ mauve brownish shade (for crease).
Maybelline has instructions on the back on how to use these colors but I just use the dark shade all over the lid and around my eye to create my signature smokey eye look and the lightest shade for my brow bone and inner eye. I don’t really use the pink , every time I try to it makes me look tired, but for $5.00 I wont complain.
These shadows have been reformulated so they are softer silkier and more pigmented than they used to be and the new black case is nicer looking than the old blue ones. Winner!
