Chanel’s summer 2016 LE eyeshadow quad. I love the green it is a stand out that isn’t duplicated in my collex even in those monster mega palettes. I got this & the 2016 Fall LE quad & I love them. I think this can transition into fall just fine. The green is very Indian summer as mentioned on the lower lash line is amazing!!! Usual buttery texture reminds me of a warm Indian summer day the last year warm days of November basking in its warmth.

Empreinte du desert (translation: mark of the desert) is a LE eyeshadow quad which is part of Chanel`s 2016 summer makeup collection. The colors are a very shimmery yellow-gold; a shimmery medium golden brown; a satin dark warm brown; and the standout of the collection, a gorgeous shimmery medium green with cool undertones. All four are highly pigmented, so you need to use a light hand in applying them. Wear time is excellent.

Chanel’s LE eyeshadow quad for Summer 2016….I’ve been waiting for this to arrive in-store and after a second look at it (I almost walked away after my first look!), I knew I had to have it. The 4 shades really do echo the colours of the desert….bronze, gold and a sea-foam colour that could be the shade of sun-baked greenery. There’s a wavy pattern on the surface which I could happily do without but I suppose it’s meant to look like the wind ripples in the desert sands.
Top left: a coppery beige which, at first, I was having problems with but after 2 uses, it now applies beautifully.
Top right: a very pretty peachy gold that shows up beautifully and is great for brightening the inner corners of my eyes or just in the middle of the lid, and I like it a lot all over my mobile lid with the darkest shade just in the outer 1/3 to 1/4 and in the crease.
Bottom left: a cool, watery seafoam green that is a nice counterpoint to the warmer shades in the quad. It’s particularly nice under my lower lashes.
Bottom right: perhaps my favourite shade in the quad! It looks like a warm sable brown in the pan (sort of like MAC’s Sable or Bronze) but it applies as a very cool neutral brown. I like this shade so much that I was looking on Temptalia’s site dupes for it since the pans in this quad are small. To my surprise, despite having dozens and dozens of brown shadows, both singles and in palettes galore, I don’t seem to have an exact dupe for this, though I plan to check a few shadows I have that I think will be close.
I’m not sure if it’s the weak Canadian dollar or the fact that this is a LE quad with a fancy rippled surface to the shadows but the price has climbed considerably since the last Chanel quad I purchased about 10 months ago. So this might not be an ideal purchase for everyone, especially if you already have similar shades. It is a really stunning palette, though, and makes me think of sultry summer nights but I also think this colour assortment could segue beautifully into autumn.
