Its so gorgeous that I find myself reaching for it pretty often. The taupe is amazing, the color I use almost all the time, and the green is a beautiful soft, light, mossy green that I use to make my brown eyes pop (:

I went into Sephora to check out the eyeshadows and was set on picking up Cordura, but I accidently grabbed Earth Angel and did not notice until I got home. At first I was worried because for my first NARS duo, I wanted neutral colors. Especially for convenient purposes, I like having one look in one palette. The toupe light brown I was okay with, but I was really worried about the olive green. I decided to just suck it up and try it anyways, because it would be a hassle to drive far to exchange. I’m glad I gave it a try because this duo is great to use everyday, despite the olive green. I use the toupe color for my lid and the olive green for my outer corner. Once you blend the olive green together with the toupe, it kind of looks like a smokey grey, with a hint of gold…at least in my opinion. So it’s still great for an everyday neutral look.
Even though this was an accidental purchase, I’m glad it worked out. I also don’t have anything like the olive green, so it’s nice to have something different.

I just purchased this after a NARS makeover at Sephora. Despite the fact that I have some of the features that other reviewers say will not work with this shadow, I really like it. When it was used on me at Sephora I was really impressed with the color. I am NC 15-20 but I have a lot of gold in my skin. Perhaps if someone is pale but more pink-toned this won’t work as well. I also have blue eyes but when I wear anything at all green, they look green. This combo makes a smokey eye for me with the taupe color on the lid and the green on the outer lid and crease, with black liquid liner. For the makeover it was used with Turkish Delight lip gloss and The Multiple in South Beach. I really liked all of it. The eyeshadow colors look neutral, but much better than brown because a lot of browns make me look tired. It is true that the colors blend together after a while, but they don’t crease on me. The salesperson at Sephora told me that NARS wants his makeup applied with fingers so that skin oils blend into it. Perhaps the shadow is made to sink in. I use a brush because I don’t want to ruin an expensive shadow with oil from my skin. Nonetheless, the gradual blending doesn’t bother me. However, if you like to make a precisely-placed graphic eyeshadow look, I can see the blending as a problem. In my case I have small lids and hooded eyes so a pecise, graphic look doesn’t really work. I want to just accent my eyes in a sultry way and draw attention to them. This shadow duo really does that and doesn’t fight my skin tone. It doesn’t look muddy. It looks more “urban safari” in my caser than muddy. I would repurchase but probably will not use it all before it is too old.
