The picture of Stila’s Dune eyeshadow with these reviews is much darker than the color really is. I have been using this as my day to day wash of eye color for years. Stila has changed so much from the company it used to be (for the worst in my opinion) that every once in awhile I will check to see that the products that I really, really depend on, like Dune, are still there. Still I always keep a new one in reserve, even though it takes me at least a couple of years to use one up. This is a basic light sand matte color that compliments my fair skin and blue eyes. It’s soft and natural looking. The texture is soft but pigmented. It’s easy to take for granted a color like this but I have tried other brands with this same type of color and always come back to Dune.

I rarely go through an entire pan of any kind of eyeshadow, but I’m almost through one of Dune. It’s a great, neutral base and looks nice with just about any color you put with it. Wish it cost a little less, of course. But can’t say I didn’t get my money’s worth.

It’s very pretty, and is a pleasure to apply, buttery soft. However, it’s a little took yellow for my complexion and kind of makes me look jaundice… eek. I still really love it, I just have to work with it a bit. Maybe bronzing my face would help?
EDIT: I found it helped to use a dark brown liner, dark brown mascara, and a red berry lip gloss.

I love Stila eyeshadows, but am not a fan of the colour of Dune. I ordered it off of Sephora, and found when I got it, its too yellow for me, as I am extremly pale with blue undertones. Love the texture though, goes on smooth and lasts a long time.

Love this eyeshadow! I wanted a neutral, shimmerless eyeshadow for work and this fits the bill. I have fair skin with yellow undertones and this shadow matches my skin tone perfectly. The powder is really soft and glides on smoothly and evenly.

Wonderful neutral warm beige base color that really makes blue eyes look bluer. Amazingly smooth, buttery texture. Great lid color. Just add any brown, taupe, or plum to the crease for an easy everyday eye design.

If you’re wanting a neutral eyeshadow base in a warmer shade Dune is the perfect option. Lovely for using with neutrals, browns and bronzes (I’m wearing it today with Summer). It doesn’t have any shimmer so it’s great for evening out skin tone on the eyelid.

Dune is a warm nude-beige matte eyeshadow. It has all the wonderful pigment and application qualities of Stila shadows. Unfortunately, however, it is too yellow for my cool-toned skin. It makes me look washed out and sallow. For a general allover shade, Chinois is much better for me, even though it is significantly lighter. Then again, I’m very pale. This would be a great neutral for someone with warmer skin, though. But I’m going to return mine. Thank goodness Sephora has a generous return policy!

Very pretty, yet natural color. Really brightens my eyes and makes me look a bit more awake. Not too crazy about the cardboard container and lid, but I got mine so cheap off eBay that I don’t care!

I love this e/s! The name describes it: a neutral sand color, matte and smooth. No shimmer. It applies very smoothly and has great coverage–I have lots of red/blue/gray in my eyelids and this evens out the tone. Dune can be worn as a base or by itself. I am not a huge fan of Stila’s e/s packaging but the qualities of this e/s make up for it. Highly recommend and would buy again.
