In Japan, Dolly Wink is a drugstore brand and I have to say, I like how this performs better than American drugstore brands.
The packaging is very kawaii, with a gyaru style in mind, and has a heart-shaped window you can see the colors through. In the 01 kit, there’s a cool copper, champagne, pink-brown, and a gray-brown. What I really appreciate about these browns is that they don’t look muddy, and because they’re not matte, they don’t fall into the same “caked eyeshadow” look that matte sometimes gives off. These have a pretty satin-y sheen! And what throws me off initially is that, you’d think these would be WARM shades because they’re brown and include a copper shade, but they’re not. This is a cool-neutral-toned quad!
I also uploaded pictures where the top portion is applied on top of the Dolly Wink gold glitter base, which makes them stand out a bit more, otherwise there’s no glitter in the formula. The dual-tipped applicator that comes with the kit is tiny, but I wish it were bigger because it’s made of latex and applied the colors like a dream! BTW, my skintone is NC25-30 for reference.
Pigment: I don’t think these are meant to be extra pigmented to create looks like cut creases or drag makeup, because the tutorial that comes with the product is for a soft, dolly look. These are meant to be blended together for a sweet, natural vibe.
Staying power: These colors have CRAZY staying power! I have oily lids which can prove to be a challenge for eye makeup (it bunches around my creases), but this formula stays put! Even when I take off my makeup for the night, the wipes remove so much pigment, as if I just freshly applied my eye makeup!
Price: I got this quad for $12, but some websites have them for as much as $17-20 because of the rarity and import tariffs included. If you aren’t too adventurous with your eyeshadow colors and tend to gravitate towards cool/neutral browns, this quad is definitely a must-try!

The packaging is adorable but that’s the only special aspect about this eyeshadow. It applies really nicely but when its on your lids, it looks really muddy. I also find the little applicator quite useless. I probably wont buy it again if I run out of it.. But it’s nice having such an adorable product.

No surprise they have sold like a billion of these in Japan.
I am over the moon about this shadow, which I swatched above. I paid just under $20 delivered for it after I saw someone using it on YouTube, and after using it for a while cannot say enough good stuff about it.
I normally stay away from anything with shimmer but this has just the right amount of satin and it’s very finely milled so it is much more forgiving than many others are.
TEXTURE: Heaven. It goes on so smooth, with no flaking, just glides over your skin. Since it is heavily pigmented and very fine you don’t need a lot to get the right amount of color, so you can wear it either semi sheer or build it up.
BLENDABILITY: Each shade is carefully milled to be the same consistency as the others, which makes it super easy to build evenly and blend. Super easy to work with.
COLOR: The color palate is what really makes this shadow rock. I’m afraid my swatch doesn’t do them justice, especially in terms of intensity and depth. The colors complement each other beautifully, from the warm yellow gold of the highlighter through the deeper gradations of bronze. I particularly love the highlighter – it is better than any shadow I have of any kind for highlighting the inner eye. I wear it almost every day no matter what else I am wearing.
I will confess that for day makeup I sometimes blend it with complementary NYX matte shadows to take the shimmer down a bit, but if you don’t have texture in your eyelids you probably wouldn’t need to.
In short, I have nothing like it in my shadow collection, running the gamut from Chanel to Maybelline. As others have said, it can stand in quality with any high end brand. Highly recommended.

LOVE THIS. I’m a huge fan of Tsubasa Masuwaka, this did contribute to purpose of buying this but apparently this quad is amazing. I didn’t believe it because when I saw people using it, it didn’t look too pigmented and the colours looked like they could easily be duped. Japanese eyeshadows, or Asian eyeshadows in general, are typically extremely sheer and sparkly as the natural makeup look is a huge trend. I thought this quad would fit that description and the heavy price tag seemed a bit much. I paid $21 dollars for this on imomoko, it was on sale, but I still felt like it was a lot to pay for four eyeshadows that I thought were to be mediocre. After a year, I finally caved in and bought it because why not, plus I needed free shipping on imomoko. How wrong was I. This quad feels buttery smooth to touch, the eyeshadows were pigmented, the little applicator is not crap at all and it is very usable, and the best part is that the eyeshadows cannot be duped. It’s very slim so it’s very travel friendly. Inside the quad includes a shimmery orangey gold colour, a slightly frosty ivory, a deep bronze brown, and a satin dark brown. I’ve basically ignored my beloved naked palettes for this tiny quad, and that’s saying something as I cannot live without my naked palettes. If I could only have one eyeshadow product, it’d most likely be this because it’s very simple to transition from a day look to a night look.

Amazing quality shadows that I bought on Amazon. Kind of expensive but worth it to get cute Japanese makeup! 🙂 Really pigmented too as good, if not better than some of the other brands. It comes with a highlight color, a crease color, and some colors to make the look a little smokey. It’s one of my favorite quads and def. worth the money! 🙂

Dolly Wink has 4 eyeshadow palettes that have an RRP of $18. I bought this from ebay for $22.
Anyway the palette contains 4 colours,a golden light-brown, shimmery gold-white, medium brown with golden micro shimmers and a really dark brown with very tiny microshimmers. There is a double-ended applicator that works really well with designing the eyes to have a dolly cute effect, the product’s packaging/box contains a ‘how-to’ instruction on how to achieve dolly look.
The palette showcases exceptional-quality shadows. they do not have fallouts (very minimal if any), they have a decent amount of product included and are housed in a cute round container that has a transparent heart on the exterior to show what colours are inside. The shadows are very easy to blend, the texture is so smooth, better than Estee Lauder, benefit, nyx, bourjois, loreal shadows i have tried. I use NYX shadow base so I have never experienced any creasing or fallouts or fading after very long hours of wear.
The cons of this product is similar to many japanese/asian brands. It is very hard to get at its RRP. I mean, paying $22 for a 4 colour product that is so tiny in size, and buying it online means you have to pay for shipping, wait for 2 weeks to get it..all that hassle.
Overall, this eyeshadow is very exceptional, just very pricy. The colours arent easily duped, there are colours that are similar but the finish and effect of the colours on your eyes are unique and so smooth and pretty. I think the price i paid is worth the product, but i definitely recommend picking up as much products in japan/asia while youre there, because there is just a massive price gap if you do.
