Crash was my first Urban Decay eyeshadow and it is not an easy colour. If I blend it Out on its own I can end up with a ‘bruised’ eye. The easiest way to apply it is with your fingertips (yup, messy application method) I also use it wet with an eyeliner brush as an eyeliner.
I love the purple and coppery sparkle in it.
But because it is hard to apply 3 stars.

I love Crash. This was one of my first Urban Decay shadows. It’s an eggplant purple color with warm colored glitter. Makes my light brown eyes pop! I am not sure they make this color anymore. It’s a shame because I would buy it again if I could. This is a bit dry so I find that applying it wet-ish is the way to go then blend. Only problem with applying wet is you sometimes get that harsh line that doesn’t blend very well. Anyway, this color is awesome. Totally recommend. 🙂

Pretty color , glad i bought it but i probably wont buy it again only because it’s similar to other purples i have and this has glitter in it, while the glitter isnt bad on this one you do have to use a good primer, or even a concealer which is what i use when applying glitter eyeshadows. blends nicely, but don’t over blend or you’ll look bruised and the color turns a little grey. It’s nice ,but again not a must have!

This is an odd product. The packaging is adorable, in a bus token format, it is in sturdy packaging and it survives each time I drop it, haha! It really needs a very thin layer to get that plummy color, if you pack it on it becomes an ugly brown color, and makes you look bruised.
I don’t see it run down my face when I apply it but some fallout will occur on the sides of the eyes so you might want to hold a tissue on your face to prevent the rest of your makeup. However, I will not repurchase this product most likely because of three things. It is expensive, more than MAC which seems to be better quality. Also, it is hard to get that plummy color, but when you get it it really looks pretty on hazel or green eyes! The last reason is that there are a lot better colors.
Basically, if you can get the color in the tin on your eyes, it’s a good buy.

I like this but its not my favourite by UD. The pigmentation is fine but not the best, its not smooth in texture at all, but can be blended quite easily. A fair amount of glitter in this one, so if you arent a fan steer clear. Its a deep purple which is nice put in the crease, would i buy again? probably not.

LOVE LOVE CRASH! Just as another has said shocked this has not rated higher! I have hazel eyes, and the purple makes them POP! I use Crash on the bottom and then Asphyxia on top! Don’t forget your primer too! And if I’m feeling funky I use Uzi on the top (for that glow look right below my brow line. When you use this, make sure you have the correct size brush. Use a small brush to try it out to see how it lays. I use a the UD shadow brush (it’s the bigger one) but if you’ve never used this before try the wonder brush from UD for applying this shadow. Did I say i LOVE crash yet???

I cannot believe this e/s isn’t rated higher on here! I was blown away when I first tried this with Grifter and Last Call. I’m used to wearing matte/satin textured browns, greys and blacks only. I find that dark neutral colors are what bring out my eyes best so I never thought that these shimmery, purple toned shadows would look good on me,but man do they ever. They definitely made my eyes look more awake and pretty. Ugh, this e/s is sooo underrated!

I also tried this first in the sideshow face case, but I bought the full size as well (so many great colors I fell in love with through UD Palettes). There is no difference that I can tell in the formulation between the full size and the palette size. Crash is a great dark, semi-matte eggplant purple, with a tiny amount of microglitter but it’s minimal – a great crease color or smokey eye color. It goes on evenly for me, very easy to use as a crease color. If you are doing a dark smokey eye with this as an overall lid color, I would recommend using a darker base first like MAC’s Macroviolet, but I’ve tried it with just UDPP and it works too, you just need more than ‘one coat’ if that makes sense. Compared to their other glitter shadows or shimmer shadows, this one is actually more matte but has a slight sheen and a very silky texture. I don’t find it underpigmented at all, compared to things like Estee Lauder, Lancome, or Aveda. It’s about as pigmented as MAC or NYX ‘s matte/slight sheen only shadows. I love to use this with Grifter on the lid, and this in the crease. Always brings compliments. Great lasting power with UDPP, but the shadows are high quality by themselves – I just have very oily lids so I need UDPP.

Crash Eyeshadow: It came in a Pallette (Side Show Face case) and I didnt think I’d use this one. Many dark plummy colors look too flat and either too blue (I look dead) or red ( I look diseased) this one is perfect. it’s got tons of multicolor flecks of micro gold (for warmth) glitter in it that make it reflective so the deep color livens up. It’s one of my most used colors. I liked it so much, i bought the individual color.
It’s a deep eggplant with copper/multi small glittery bits that really makes any eye color pop. It’s not subtle and I dont know how it could be. Wet, it makes an impressive liner. Dry it would probably nto look good as a liner.
Dry it’s a great color to add dark impact that is more lively than black or gray, but it is not…purple really. It’s a cross between black and purple truly. I wouldnt go swiping this stuff on willy nilly – it requires blending and control and some kind of bast to keep the glitter fallout (which it DEFINITELY) at a minimum. Aslo, it’s quite dry, so the shadow requires caution or you will have purple/black shadow and glitter all over your face. It’s not good for shading, it needs to be the focus or at least have the strength of being a liner.
With patience and control and the expectation of a very dramatic eye, this is a great addition for a bit of drama.

I love Purple, but I do not like this shadow. I have never had a shadow that is so hard to apply and such a pain to get to look right. The color is great but so hard to apply evenly that I can’t bear to mess with it when I have other good purples. I really wish it wasn’t hard to use, it is one of the darkest true purples I have found. Using it wet solves some of the texture problems but then the color is still sheer.
