I am a fan of neutral/nude eyeshadow palettes. I tried many in my collection to decide on one to take on a two week trip. This is the one that I picked. It is a small, slim case but the pans are a good size. The light brow highlight shade is large. The neutral matte shades are great – good transition color and a good deeper crease shade. There are two good, subtle shimmer shades. It was all that I needed for both day and evening looks. The runner up was the Sephora Eye Love Cool Light palette, but it was edged out by the Minimalist palette!

Very unimpressed. Even though I needed another neutral palette like I needed a hole in the head, the texture of this made me fall in love. Alas, these don’t play the same on the eyelid as they do on the back of your hand. All the colours are very ‘meh’ with no standouts. I didn’t find wear time was that great either. This one is definitely going back.

I’m 58 and usually do not buy palettes because they usually contain several colors I’ll never use. But, oh, I love this palette. I’m NW20 and these cool-based colors make my medium brown eyes pop. There are a couple of darker shades I use for lining my upper lash line but the rest are colors I can wear on their own. I don’t do contouring, smoky eye, none of that. I usually wear a color on my lids and maybe MAYBE a brow highlighter and that’s it. For me, this is a slap-it-on and go palette. I gave it only four lips for packaging and that’s because the mirror is like a funhouse mirror for the eyes. None of us need that look!

I was surprised by this palette, the quality is great and the price is good. The shadows are nicely pigmented and the colour selection is perfect for neutral everyday looks. The mattes blend really well and the shimmers are beautiful. Minimal fallout. The shadows last all day over primer. The only thing I don’t really like is the packaging, the hinge on the lid is a bit odd.

This is such a nice palette and a perfect replacement for UD’s Naked palette which is being discontinued. “Minimalist” is a great assortment of 8 cool toned neutrals. The left hand shadows are more brown toned; the right side is cooler and more grey. The top 2 shades are the lightest and I guess are meant to be base shades; one of them is more shimmery and the other more matte and the palette contains an assortment of matte and shimmer shades. All are soft, nicely pigmented and apply with little to no fallout. With UD Naked comparisons, the shades are:
Deco – a peachy champagne along the lines of UD Sin
Nude – think UD Naked or Buck (or MAC Cork)
Cinnamon – a shimmery pinky/brown taupe, a bit like UD YDK
Java – a matte dark brown
Vanilla – just what it sounds like – a light, matte cream shade. I find I have to be a bit careful with this one since, if I try to apply too much at once, I get white bits of powder in my lashes so I take my time and press this on carefully
Hang – a lovely matte taupe that is great as a subtle crease shadow or a “one and done” allover the lid/into the crease colour
Portfolio – SUCH a pretty colour – it’s the cooler counterpart to Cinnamon and very like UD Pistol or Sidecar (but without Sidecar’s fallout)
Cruise: a perfect cool, darker taupe brown that’s a bit like Password from UD’s Naked Smoky palette (also d/c now)
I’m glad to have this as an alternative to the original Naked palette. I don’t like travelling with palettes I can’t replace so Naked will now be staying home. Minimalist is very bit as good (maybe even better since there’s little fallout and it is smaller).
