Wow I can’t believe I have never written a review about my color surge eye shadows before.
I purchased 2 color surge quads and 1 color surge trio about 3-4 years ago and they just never wowed me. When I got them home I thought the pigment was poor and the shadows were a little too powdery so I wasn’t super impressed but since they weren’t all that expensive I wasn’t super disappointed in them either. Since I just felt meh about them I was never inspired to review them. Yet over the last few years these quads and trios have become my favourite daytime shadows. I cannot go to work wearing dramatic makeup so the fact these shadows are light on pigment is actually a positive. The colors are super pretty and the soft pigment makes them virtualy mistake proof. When I wear these shadows I never have to worry that I’ve gone to heavy or that one eye doesn’t match the other. I just slap it on and then lightly blend and Voila! I’ve got a nice professional work day eye. Even though the shadow isn’t super picgmented they have about the same lasting powder of any other shadow I own. Don’t buy this product if you are looking to hit paydirt for pigment or want a high drama look cause you won’t be happy, but if you like a soft understated daytime look then these are awesome.

This is a great palette for brown eyes. I love the formula of Clinique’s quad eye shadow palettes and this one is no exception. The colors blend nicely and the powders are very creamy. I can get a great eye look every time with very little effort.

First let me say that I have not been wearing eyeshadow consistently for many years. I have always had “hooded” eyes and am now 44. For the past several years I have given up on eyeshadow because I felt like so little of my eyelids actually show when I have my eyes open that it was no use to wear it. However, recently I have wanted to play around with eyeshadow again but couldn’t find the colors I was looking for. I have very green eyes and know that purples/plums are good for this. I have bought drugstore shades that are made for green eyes in the past but they never seemed quite right. I am also very pale and most of them seemed too bright. The shades in this quad are awesome! I have fun wearing them every day now and have gotten many compliments on both my eye color and just overall how I look. The light purple shade is exactly what I was looking for….beautiful. I looked at almost every cosmetic line at Sephora and did not see any as pretty as these. They are easy to apply for someone like me who doesn’t have a lot of time. I have not worn the darker shades yet but I wear the two shades on the left of the compact either alone or together every day to work and they are great! I am thinking of getting some of the other quads in more of the neutral shades. Try them they are great!

Wonderful pallet! This color will work on light, medium or dark skin. Goes on very smooth, and the color is bright without looking “clowish”. Be sure to blend, and will look fabulous!

I got a sample of these eyeshadows from my mother who purchases makeup from Clinique. I usually end up not liking eyeshadow samples but I actually do like this set! It works great with dark brown eyes. I tend to use the 3 purple colors. I love the plum seduction color (which I use all of the lid) and then the blackberry frost (on my crease). Come heather could be used as a highlighter color but I do not always use it because the pigmentation isnt that great in my opinion and I do not like looking too purpley on my eyes anyway. The grayish one I use every once in awhile on my crease as well. The pigmentation of these colors isnt the best I have seen but it satisfies me. Only wish I could wear this more (I dont have a ton of outfits to match it). However, once I use this up I probably will not repurchase because I am confident I can find a drugstore version of these thats cheaper for me.

This quad is great at making my dark brown eyes pop. I use this quad for two looks: a daytime look using the two taupey grey shades or an evening look with the light taupe as a wash, the grey on the lid, and the violet in the crease. These shadows are shimmery and not heavily pigmented. For me, this is great because I like smoky eyes but can’t wear a lot of dark colors around my eyes. The pigmentation is perfect so that I don’t overdo it.
I knocked off a point because I don’t use the pink shade in the quad. When I bought it, the MA did a look on me with the pink shade on my lid, but since then I think I’ve worn it only once or twice. The violet shade is the standout for me in this quad, and with using 3/4 of the colors, I would repurchase.

This is my favorite eye shadow palette ever! It is not allergy-inducing, the colors are fabulous (I’m this close to saying it’d work for everybody if it works for my East Asian skin tone, which is normally not the best canvas there is for purples. Only the medium lavender is a bit on the dangerous side), and the lasting power is amazing (it stays on my lids all day with no primer). I don’t wear makeup very often and there is some similar stuff on the market, but I’d still repurchase if I run out!

I bought this product assuming that it wouldn’t irritate my very sensitive eyes, which it didn’t to a certain degree. The colors in this quad are very pretty but they are not pigmented. On my skin tone, even after applying the cream eyeshadow as a base, I had to pack on a lot of the product just to get the colors to show somewhat. I’m still disappointed that this product didn’t work out the way I wanted it to.

I got this quad for my birthday and I’m in love with it! I never bought Clinique eyeshadows before b/c I’ve always had a bad impression of them because most Clinique products that I’ve tried are a bit too subtle for me. Back in high school, I used to be really into bright MAC or Urban Decay eyeshadows, but I guess now that I’ve grown up I’m into more subtle colors. The 4 colors in this quad compliment each other perfectly. None of them are overly shimmery. I haven’t actually tried using all 4 colors on my lids at the same time yet, but I’d imagine that it would look really nice. The downside to this product is that the colors are not very pigmented and sometimes I have to dig my brush in to get more product. But overall, it’s great for everyday wear and the purple/grey tones are gorgeous and would especially compliment medium to tan complexions. Also, the packaging is gorgeous too!

I’d forgotten how much I love Clinique shadows – have been using Dior, Nars, etc. But I love these; so smooth and not too shiney. The colors in this quad are all awesome – I had been searching for a bright purply/lavender and this is perfect and that is such a hard color to find. I had picked out a duo of Cliniqu on line but when I recd it the lavender was pretty but too pale for what a I wanted – a nice punch of color..
