I got this as a free GWP when I bought 2 e.l.f products and to be perfectly honest, I wouldn’t pay for this little palette. I’m more of a one and done kind of shadow person and therefore don’t really have a need for palettes in general, but if I did I would probably use this quite a lot. Having said that, the shades in here do offer some dimension and the kaolin clay aids in the staying power. There are 2 shimmer shades (both gold – one with a taupe undertone, the other with an olive undertone), 2 matte shades (beige and dark brown) and 1 satin/highlight shade (champagne/ivory) in the palette, which is quite compact in size but totally adequate, especially if you need a small neutral shadow palette for travelling light. I didn’t find these overly pigmented which I guess is a good thing because you can spend time building and blending for the look you want. The formula feels pretty nice, softer than I expected, some of e.l.f’s other shadows have felt hard and scratchy in comparison.

Good: Very easy to blend, ELF isn’t lying when they say this is silky-smooth. Might be a good choice for a young girl just learning to use makeup. The package closes tight and the mirror is really big, which helps with even application.
Bad: The highlight shade was really crumbly and got everywhere (I ordered this online so maybe it was old?). The other colors have less pigment than I expect even from a “nude” shade. I’d keep it as a backup in case I lost or broke my main one, but I like Revlon’s nude shadows better.

I’m never very impressed with E.L.F products, but I was late night browsing through the drugstore looking for a decent nude palette and came across this and was intrigued by the clay formula. I’ve always liked Tarte’s amazonian clay powders for their staying power, so I figured why the hell not, it’s not much money. I’m honestly blown away by how good this palette is! The powders are silky smooth, no fallout, they blend beautifully, and they last on my lids all day, even without a lid primer, and the packaging although made of plastic, is fairly solid. I use the 2 darkest shades in my crease area, and it blends like a dream, like I usually only get with higher end eye shadows. Highly recommend it.
