I was a little disappointed in this shade. It’s been touted as almost the holy grail for green eyes. On my lids it reads more pinky than purple-y so I need to add definition otherwise I look a little pinky-eyed. Probably for someone with a different skin tone it might work better (I’m strongly yellow-based but with some ruddiness in the face). It’s not a bad product, and the quality is good – it applies easily and the shimmer is not overpowering (I’m in my forties) but it’s not my shade after all so that is why I would not buy it again.

At first I did not really gravitate towards this shade, but it truly shines when you use it on your eyelids (versus arm swatches).
This is one of those lovely not too shimmery, not too matte shades in the range. Amethyst has a soft pink sparkle to it, so if you sheer it out, it will leave a nice je ne sais quoi glow on the lid. I do often use it in my crease together with something like Laura Mercier’s Caramel and the two are a dream team.
If you have green or blue eyes, this shade will make them shine in the most sophisticated way. I own 19 shades in total and have unedited arm swatches in a separate review here for those of you curious to learn more ( Hope this helps!

I absolutely adore this eye stick. The color is subtle but makes my green eyes glow. It is easy to use and does not crease or smear. Great to line eyes with for a day look or build up for a smoky nighttime look. I will buy it as long as they make it. LOVE IT

A very expensive luxury product but I absolutely love both the consistency and color. This is a gorgeous taupe with a purple base that makes my green eyes pop. Quite often I will layer MAC Satin Taupe powder shadow over this cream shadow for extra staying power (the colors are almost identical). Usually though I can just “color” this on and go quickly – which is part of why it is so totally great. It is VERY expensive but I’ve bought it several times now as I’m willing to pay for the combined high quality and perfect color. I cannot find anything I like quite as much. I do layer it over UD eyeshadow base for extra longevity. It is a special product.

Well, I like the packaging and it’s very easy and fast to use when in hurry in the mornings; just swipe, blend with finger, apply mascara and done with the eyes. The color is pretty too, mostly suitable for romantic fall and winter looks for me.
The reasons why I didn’t rate with 5 is that it doesn’t stick around as perfectly as the first Caviar Stick I got (moonlight), the color is pretty but not extraordinary and the price tag is ultimately too high.

This is a good quality eyeshadow which can double up as eye liner if used with an angled brush. Very long lasting and does not crease. Great stuff

I bought this..and had to return it. The colour was great, nice and pigmented, but after a few hours my eyes felt ‘tired’ and itchy…. That’s when I looked in the mirror and noticed my eyes were completely swollen. I never have allergy issues with eyeshadow so this was really disappointing. Especially since this product is quite expensive as well. I will never buy this again.

This color is as close to “universal” as you can get. I’ve worn this color a lot, and have even bought it for a couple of friends. It’s a soft metallic bronzey plum that looks good on everyone I’ve ever recommended it to, both warm and cool skin types, fair to deep complexions. It’s a medium shade rather than a pale highlight color or a dark liner color.
Caviar Sticks are easy to apply. I usually blend with my fingers but sometimes I use a brush and get good results with both techniques. It lasts well and the color is soft enough that it doesn’t look bad even after a long day. As long as I don’t apply eye cream underneath it, it has good longevity and doesn’t crease. (If you wear lots of thick eye cream, it can crease.) I usually wear Illuminare mineral cream shadow as a base, but even if I don’t, this stays much better than a powder shadow.
I have several Caviar Sticks but this color is so versatile that it is even a safe gift. Laura Mercier does not test on animals.

I’m on my third caviar eye stick in amethyst. I love this product. sometimes i use it to line my eye, or i put it on the entire lid and smoke it out with a brush. I have green eyes, and this gives them a nice pop. Also, this product DOES NOT crease at all.

I really love the color of this, it’s almost exactly the same shade as MAC satin taupe shadow but in cream form. I really like this, it’s smooth and blendable and builds nicely and works great on its own or you can layer a powder shadow or another liner stick over it. The only issue I have is with staying power- no matter if I top it with powder or wear a primer under it, it creases on me after about 4 hours. Now, I don’t think the average person would have an issue with this creasing, which it why I still give it a high mark. I have exceptionally oily eyelids, and even with Nars pro prime on (which is the best shadow primer I have ever used) some things will still crease on me. So, definitely worth purchasing, but if you have extremely oily lids just beware that you will probably have some creasing.
