I wrote a review on this palette, and they deleted it on their website. So here we go again:
Basically: very powdery and LOTS of fallout, the quality is so poor that the colors fade after 3-5 hours of wear.
I attempted to use this palette several different ways to see which way is the best to apply it. Using brushes (both dense and fluffy ones) were a terrible idea because the eyeshadow would either A) not stick to my lids at all or B) they would appear to have been packed on, but when I’d go to blend, they would dust right off my lids. The miniscule amount of product that did stay, however, would fade and/or darken as time went by. My third and forth attempts seemed to be the most fruitful: I decided to use my fingers to apply. I got the most coverage/color out of this, but if I tried to blend them out with a brush, the colors would come right off. I blended as much as I could with my fingers (a lot of gentle patting) and that worked. However, after around 4hrs of wear, I checked in the mirror, and half the color had faded or darkened considerably. The only decent color is Peony, but it’s so frosty, it’s not that appealing on my darker complexion.
I know matte eyeshadows can be a bit of a hit or miss, but these were a HUGE miss. An excellent shimmery color is easier to work with, both wet and dry. But the ones in this palette don’t work well at all. I expected “Beauty” to be buttery smooth, but it was patchy and had fallout regardless of whether or not it was applied wet.
Only terribly cheaply made eyeshadow products irritate my eyes, and this, unsurprisingly, did that. They feel and work like cheaply made palettes I used to use in the past, but those only cost me anywhere between $10-20, NOT $34. They remind me so much of those 88 eyeshadow palettes that were so popular around 2010. I’m sure if the formulas for those changed since then, but the quality was so bad back then.
I was so excited about this one because it’s rare to find warm tone/pink toned palettes with shades dark enough to work with darker complexions; normally they’re WAY too pale and look ashy. However, this one seemed to have fit the bill. Except it did not. I’m truly disappointed.
And you can’t get refunds on open products!! I fail to understand makeup brands that don’t allow them. I would’ve returned this already if they allowed it. I’m 100% certain the other 3 palettes in this Paradise Collection are the same quality-wise.
