   Got a great deal on the brown and beige shade in the BS sale; they didn’t go on very nicely so I’ve returned to my Bourjois little round pots instead.

   I got it in Amethyst, because of the never ending love for purple shades. Two way to apply it, wet and dry. Dry it’s discreet and, in my opinion, a very convenient product for daytime. Applied wet it’s much more intense, the shimmer shows and it lasts longer. Overall I will repurchase because I think it’s good value for money.

   I got this in 08 Amethyst. I have to say, the colour is really intense so less is more and the two shades of purple go well together for a smoky look. If you love purple, go for it. As for staying power, it is fair, it stayed on for the whole of my prom night. Though note to self, I should have not put on so much haha.

   This is about $25 in my country. I got this last year in two shades – 05 SAGE and 04 QUARTZ. Never been a fan of TBS eyeshadows because of poor color payoff and staying power, however, I gave these baked eyeshadows a try because the colors looked lovely in the pan. I have brown asian skin and hated pink makeup but somehow QUARTZ looked delicate instead of the usual gaudy effect on me. I picked up SAGE because green always did wonders for my dark brown eyes.

   1. DRY COLOR PAYOFF: applied dry, these baked eye shadows don’t give much color payoff. While QUARTZ looked simply delicate and lovely when applied dry, SAGE didn’t fare too well dry and gave me a bruised shimmery eye look because it didn’t have as much color payoff to suit my brown skin.

   2. WET COLOR PAYOFF: applied wet, it’s a different story. These eyeshadows when applied wet are unbelievably pigmented and are very long lasting. Whereas they creased and faded when dry, but when applied wet, they didn’t crease or fade. I put SAGE on at 9am and now it’s already 8pm and it’s still there. This is the loveliest green make up in my collection. And to think I wanted to give this away! I never once had to retouch, which is a miracle for a TBS eyeshadow. It didn’t feel thick or cakey at all.

   3. APPLICATION: i didn’t use primer on lids, only moisturizer and mineral foundation. In applying them wet, I simply spritzed face mist on my TBS eyeshadow brush and lightly patted the color on my lids, for a finishing touch I sweeped the blender brush for a more smooth and uniform look.

   Overall, I’m giving these baked eyeshadows 4 lippies. Applying the shadows wet may be bothersome for someone like me who is used to dry application, but then the wet color payoff and long lasting power was worth it.

   TIP: if you’re only buying one color from the collection, get QUARTZ. It’s a no fail delicate pink and is noob proof. In fact I ended up giving it to my 56yo mom who only began wearing make up this year. She only uses it dry and totally loves it. I’ve just bought a replacement QUARTZ and also got AMETHYST and MOONSTONE 🙂

   I had been checking these out for a while before i bought #05, Sage, a green duo consisting of a frosty greyish green and a veined dark forest green with hints of grey and silver shimmer. I think I can see some hints of golden sparks in there as well. It’s really beautiful, but not anything I would wear to work. I tend to use this for a green smoky make-up, applying the frosty green wet om the lid and building oapacity with the dark green applied dry, or applying the frosty green dry on the lid and applying the dark one wet as an eyeliner. I don’t have anything else like this and I would definitley buy it again, and I might buy one ore two of the other colours. Packaging feels sturdy and reliable, I like that it’s entirely transparent.

   I bought two of these, 02 Moonstone which is a duo of creamy ivory and a deep silvery taupe/mushroomy brown and 08 Amethyst, medium bright grape purple and a deep blackened violet.
   These come in a round clear plastic compact which is functional, if not a tad boring but at least you can see the colours OK. The shadows themselves are similar in look to MAC Mineralize duos, with a larger crescent moon shape on the left and a smaller ellipse of colour on the right – this is the part that seems “mineralized” with colour veining, the rest is pretty smooth. The colours can be used wet or dry, which is a good thing because you have to layer them when trying to get any sort of intensity. Used wet, they are a lot more pigmented but you do need to use a short, stiff bristled brush to pick up the colour because the shadows are still really dry and soft brushes just bend and splay everywhere, which is pretty useless.
   The finish is fairly frosty and used dry, causes quite a bit of glittery fallout. Applied with a damp brush or applicator they do go on smoother but if layered too much can look a little crepey (but that might just be my eyelids, though they aren’t normally like that with other formulas used wet, such as Chanel).
   To be honest, I’m a bit ambivalent about these – the colours are nice (I contemplated getting Sage as well) but there are drawbacks upon application either way, the pans are generous (2.5g) which is OK for the price ($35NZD) and i’m happy enough to use them every now and then but they don’t blow me away. I personally don’t have any of the MAC mineralize duos but these seem to be about n a par from swatches I’ve done so if you missed out on the Venomous Villians duo’s, you can probably get something sort of similar (but not identical and not in the same colour pans obviously) with these – if you have the patience to work with them.
