Original review: Mine is the old packaging…I got it at the Dollar Tree. It is a mix of purples/plums. Is it Clinique, Urban Decay or MAC? Not even close, no. But for a buck it’s nice! It’s a little on the sheer side (unpigmented), but hey it’s a buck! U can err on the side of natural is how I look at it, just a sheer look but it helps to use a base like NYX JEP Milk or similar or a plain old e/s base of any brand. I have this in Trendy & Traditional as well, I think Traditional is the best 1 but these are all nice! If you have a tween or are just starting out in makeup I’d highly rec’d these little palettes or just like playing in makeup or a little DS pick-me-up. Can’t go wrong w the price pointe & in a huge LA Colors fan, these are cruelty-free (yay!!). I love cheap makeup that actually works. The cheapest brands I love becoz they are cruelty-free like LA Colors, wnw, & ELF. Cheap thrills 🙂 I remember making the cheapie DS stuff work when I was a kid! I then graduated to Clinique still <3 Clinique but this stuff all CAN be made to work & look good!! <3

Picked this up for two bucks at the dollar store (false advertising, am I right?) last fall. At the time I was drawn to the muted neutrals with a cool cast and random dusty purples and pinks. I was doing a lot of pinks/mauves on the lips and it seemed like…idk, $2 man. Well, I was pleasantly surprised.
It’s not the best palette I’ve ever used, don’t get me wrong, but it far exceeded my expectations. Pigmentation is decent, and it varies from shade to shade. You can make some really pretty eye looks with it. Lasts well over a primer. Blends nicely. Can kick up powder on your brush since at times you’ll have to dig for the pigment, but in my experience there’s not a lot of fallout during application (a far greater sin IMO).
Some of the shades, since they run sheer-ish, can look very similar on the lid but it’s nice to use a product’s perceived “faults” to your advantage at times! Go crazy, get creative: create a satiny, hazy eye…use them to add some sheen to similar toned mattes…my favorite experimentation thus far has been with the purple and rusty-brown shades. They’re definitely sheer yet make for a not-too-severe, fun, and different look in the crease.
Since I am definitely factoring the price vs. overall quality and usefulness of this lil thang, I’m giving it a 4. When confronted with the overall quality of high end eyeshadows, it doesn’t compare, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth getting! Makeup should be fun – play. Good for those on a budget, those that prefer less intense eyeshadow, those that just don’t like spending a ton on makeup, and those that like cheap thrills and can’t help compulsively buying this stuff. Haha.
(Sidenote: my compact doesn’t look like the pic originally uploaded, the shades are far more muted and less glittery so I put up a second image. From what I gather, there’s a lot of variety in the packaging/quality of this brand throughout the various incarnations of their products, worth being in the know about.)

Picked this up for $2 @ my local Family Dollar. I notice their L.A. Colors shadow palettes differ from those sold elsewhere, and the formula seems better as well. I love the shades in this particular palette which range from purples to rosy browns to warm browns, I can create a variety of nice “daytime” appropriate looks. The pigmentation is fantastic and these wear well too!
