I’ve never had my eyelids look so CREPEY & dry before. While this remains tacky which is good for eyeshadow stick-ability it is no friend to mature eyes!I actually had to remove it and put on my Anastasia primer instead.

I’ve been using Nars Eyeshadow Base for a few years now and nothing has been able to top it. This primer does not either but it comes really close and is the best drugstore primer I’ve tried so far. With it, my eyeshadows have good longevity, no creasing and color payoff like they do with any high-quality primer. The only reason this doesn’t beat the Nars is that it dries down kind of sticky and if I don’t set with a little powder, my matte eyeshadows really stick to it, lay too much pigment and are are hard to blend. Setting with powder is a pretty minor step when you consider the savings of using this over Nars or another high end primer, but I’m not sure if I’ll repurchase when its time to replace. When I use it with cream shadows, which I tend to use more in the Summer months, it does not require setting and it really helps them last.

This isn’t effective on my oily, hooded eyelids. My eye makeup creases in less than 4 hours which is unacceptable. If you have the Milani eyeshadow primer, this is no better. I use them interchangeably and I get very similar wear time and creasing with them. They both give eyeshadow good grip, so they show more pigmented, but they don’t help cheap (and even 20-30 dollar palettes) eye makeup last. I buy eyeprimer to prevent fading and creasing :/.
It goes on transparent, I can put shadow straight on top by initially patting. Seems to be fragrance free which is good. Easy to apply. Not too sticky. Wouldn’t repurchase.

Love this!
Ive been testing drugstore primers against UD potion to see if they will hold up on my oily (but dry-sensitive) eyelids. This is the first that WORKS! I did one eye with UD, the other, this one– identical at the end of the day. I was impressed. Ive tried a ton of drugstore eyeshadow primers, this one is the real deal. No creasing. None.
This stuff is a nude color, like most– spreads easily but is tacky. You can tell it wants to grip shadows. Did not cause my lids to skip or flake (wet n wild was too drying), i set with powder and then apply my shadows. It makes your shadow pop. At the end of the day, my shadow was like I just applied it and no creasing. At all. The primer does feel heavier on the lid but just something to note.
I wish it came in a squeeze tube vs doe foot, but you get .2 ounce for $8. UD is $13 for .16 (mini) and Too Faced is .4 for $20. You can get two of these and still have change left over compared to those.
Will definitely repurchase– unless this causes lid irritation (never know); this will be my go to lid primer! Works, cheap, easily available!
(as always, will come back to update if anything changes!)

This primer does a good job of making eye shadow last all day. I like the doe foot applicator. I think that it compares well to Urban Decay and Two Faced eye shadow primers.
