So this is a priming tool I did know I needed in my makeup arsenal! Although it is a glitter primer, I only use it for shimmery and metallic eyeshadows since I do not use glitter. This has been an invaluable help with some messier eyeshadows that I had nearly given up on. This will hold any of them in place! The key to using it is that you only use a very small amount of the primer, because a little goes a long way. The very first time I used it I made the mistake of using too much, which made it not dry down properly and caused the eyeshadow (and primer) to crease almost immediately. I also found that I have an easier time applying it with a small brush instead of my finger, although this does also work. Now that I have figured out how to use it I can’t imagine what I would do without it! At $6.49 for a tube there is really nothing to complain about for the price. I would strongly recommend this product.

Any glitter stays on wherever you put it. I also like to use this on my lips or for regular eyeshadow. It dries down fast and it’s a sticky base. You don’t need much, plus it’s hygienic due to the packaging: You squeeze out the amount you need, whether it’s minimal or more and you’re ready to apply.

i love this! i am eternally disappointed with the shimmery/glittery/metallic eyeshadows i end up buying, which sucks because they’re some of my favorite makeup products to wear. so finally i bit the bullet and decided to give a dedicated glitter primer a shot and i’m so glad i did. this product not only helps creamier shimmers stick to my lid (preventing them from transferring to my brow bone), but it also really intensifies the appearance of any eyeshadow applied on top of it.
you only need a very small dot of product on each eye, so one tube will undoubtedly last ages. and if you’re curious about application, i do one eye at a time and try to apply my shadows before the primer dries. i just apply it with a finger usually, and once the product starts feeling tacky and sticky i take a flat brush with some eyeshadow and pat it on.
im a big fan and would definitely repurchase if i ever ran out!

I had this sitting in my drawer for a couple of months, and I I finally broke it out this week to give some glittery shadow something to stick to. It did have a lot of adhesion, which I was impressed by, but by the middle of the day (around 4 hours in) it started to crease really badly and the glitter was transferring above my crease as well. I patted it out a little with my fingers so I wouldn’t look like I was melting, but it was not anywhere near ideal. I removed it after I got home, and once I was done washing my face my eyes were very itchy and my lids were starting to swell. For the next 24 hours or so, I had some kind of adverse reaction that was very unpleasant on my eyelids. I assume there’s something in here that my skin is sensitive to, and I don’t fault the product for that outright, but since the performance was also pretty terrible I feel confident giving this product one lippie.

I really don’t understand the hype! I bought and ended up selling on Depop! Think it was about £6 so I wasn’t really that bothered when it didn’t work for me. Just wasn’t sticky enough for the glitter to hold onto

This product is amazing and definitely does it’s job!! If you’re going to an event / festival this primer will ensure your glitter will stay on ALL NIGHT / DAY. Best purchase ever!

Let’s cut it short, I’d already repurchased this and then another one is on it’s way. I freaking love this thing. This product made me able to wear eyeshadows without fall out or fading, finally. I have very oily, heavily hooded monolids, the skin on my lid folds over and rub against itself, plus the oil, and my eyes water easily. All that just mean no eyeshadows can stay long on my lids without fading or drop off my lids altogether. I’d found a great eye primer (the WnW PhotoFocus), but I still struggle with the more creamy shimmer or metallic eyeshadows. The center of my lids is the oiliest mess and that’s the first thing to go. Some days I have two empty patches of skin where my shadows had been. I use this a bit of this glue on the center of my lids, after I’ve applied the matte shades for transition and outer V etc.; wait a few seconds for it to dry, then I put the shimmer shadow on with my finger – they stay there, all day, no matter the heat or humidity. I usually apply my lid shade with a finger anyway, so I don’t mind the extra step of putting the glue on. I got this in the Glitter Goals set that NYX put out last Christmas, so it’s only a mini 5ml – half the amount in the fullsize, the whole tube is about the size of my thumb, just easier to travel with if you ask me – but a little bit goes a long way. I’ve been using it consistently for nearly 2 months and I’ve barely made a dent. I got the set intending to experiment with glitter, and after the glue worked out so well doing what it’s intended for, I went ahead and tried it with eyeshadows to great results. I ended up getting the other 2 Glitter Goal sets as well, it’s great value and convenience, I get two more extra tubes of a product that I LOVE, plus a compact stack of 3 awesome glitters with each set.
The product comes in a tube with a very small applicator, so it’s really easy to get out exact amount of glue I need each time. The glue comes out looking a bit pearly, but once spread out it dries completely clear. I use this to “cut” my non-existent crease, it intensifies the colour payoff of the shadow just as good if not better than using a concealer or a white base. The only problem is you gotta work fast, once the glue dries, the shadow or glitter won’t stick to it as well. I find that using glitter glue is better for the duochrome shadows or “topper” shades that are a bit sheer, they look much better when the colour beneath them is visible. The sticker wrapped around the tube of glue is really cool too, it’s lenticular/holographic and it flashes rainbows when I roll it between my fingers. The price is totally affordable, and the product lasts. Everything about this product makes me happy. I hope NYX never stop offering this product.

Seriously impressed. Made my glittery shadow really pop and last a very long time.

Ugh, I wrote a rave review of this on the ELF site – and I wish I would have waited the full day before writing it. I applied this and then applied a very metallic green eyeshadow to my eyelid (morphe/KL). The color didn’t pop like I thought, but it was intense (not bright) and STAYED. A little of this goes a long way – and I found it very wet and then tacky to the touch. Like the other reviewer, I found out fast that if you use this, you can’t blend anything once you do, unless you dust a neutral shade or face powder over it (which defeats the purpose of having a nice sticky primer for dark pigments….). I left it be with a smokey eyelid – but it’s now the end of my workday and OMG – THE CREASING. This made my dark shadow crease SO BADLY, you could see thick lines of color just lining the tops of my eyelid. I had to wipe it off, it looked SO NASTY. I literally had chunks of color all over my eyelid as I was trying to wipe it off.
I agree with the other reviewer, their $1 essential sheer primer doesn’t crease like this did. I’m tempted to do the same look with the other primer just to compare, but I haven’t had an eyecolor crease like this in AGES. I’m pretty bummed. I’ll still use it up – but won’t repurchase when I can buy the sheer $1 in-store pretty much anywhere, and this special primer I had to order online only. Ugh.

this was terrible.
it made it impossible to blend eyeshadows over top of it.
so I thought oh maybe i’m applying it wrong so I pressed glittery shadows on it, instead of making its main focus blendability but even when i pressed eyeshadow on, it faded and creased. horrible!
their $1 primer is better than this

Pros: dries down clear, holds onto glitter and micro glitter in eyeshadows, greatly reduces glitter tracking, long-lasting, can be used with any type of eyeshadow as a primer
cons: none that I’ve found
Tip: mix with Stila magnificent metal foil eyeshadow as a substitute for the stila liquid
This product is a diamond find as it is cheap, does what it claims, and is long lasting even on my oily lids. I cannot compare this with too faced glitter glue because I have never used that product. If you want a cheap alternative I do suggest this product as it seems to handle any glitter bomb I throw at it.

I purchased e.l.f. Glitter Primer from a local Dollar Tree for only $1. So pleased with the find. I originally tried a small amount on the tips of my fingers to test the consistency and find out what I was working with. You see, this is my first primer use ever and I purchased recently 7 glittery palettes and I did not want to waist the beautiful pigment on creases.
Today I tried it out and I have to say that I love it. The colors that I used are so vibrant and sparkling like they are in the package. I believe that this primer has something to do with the overall appearance of my current makeup. I do not have anything to compare this product to, so as a primer virgin I must say this is wonderful stuff. And it goes on smoothly too.

Love it! Works great under eye shadow. HOLY GRAIL item.

I originally bought this to manage fallout from my most glitter bomb-y Urban Decay shadows and found it okay. I set it aside along with the rest of my makeup and kinda forgot about it while I was going through a lot of medical issues. A month or so ago I found this again, conveniently shortly after I bought some loose eyeshadow. I was impressed with how much more vibrant the already pretty colors were, as well as the lack of fallout. Since then I’ve been using it almost every time I’ve worn eyeshadow.
Despite its name, I don’t use it as a sole primer. I use it as an eyeshadow base atop regular eyeshadow primer. That’s because with my oily eyelids I’ll experience some creasing after a long day, maybe eight hours. Plus with it atop the normal primer, the colors and staying power are even more impressive. With the price it’s at, it’s certainly worth a try. I just stocked up on a couple more tubes myself.

Excellent product for adhering glitter/pigment type particles. I bought this out of need, I had lost my Too Faced ‘shadow insurance glitter glue’ after few months of using it. I was taken back by the price of NYX being much less expensive compared toToo Faced. Both packagings are about the same size. The product itself is verrrry comparable to Too Faced, in adhesiveness and longevity. Once applied my eyelid doesn’t feel hardened or too tacky. Glitter adheres nicely to this primer/glue. Last a long evening out. Washes off easily without any residue leftover.
Overall strongly recommend this ‘glue’. If you’re looking for an effective product without the the price gauge of other high end brands-NYX is a steal!

Everything about this products is perfect – the packaging, the price, the performance. I have not one bad thing to say about thise glitter glue!
The applicator on the tube is very narrow, which helps you to not squeez out too much product, because you really don’t need much. And the primer itself does exactly what it says: it makes any chunky pigment or actual glitter stick to your eyelids. And that for the entire day.
I always wanted the TF Glitter glue, but never got it because of its price and since I’m not huuuuge on glitter it just wouldn’t be worth the investment. The NYX Glue totally filled this gap for me – a good product with a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend it!

Amazing!!
