I haven’t experimented with many eyeshadow primers. My love affair with UD’s various versions kept me going for the longest time but I finally decided it was time to try for an alternative. I tried NYX’s eyeshadow base which was a good nude for my eyelids but did nothing in terms of staying power or making my eyeshadow vibrant like UD’s. I stumbled upon this on my local Sephora website, not being familiar with their brand but thought for half the price of UD’s I had nothing to lose. What a pleasant discovery it’s been. It comes in a sleek black tube, applies smoothly, goes on matte and makes my shadow pop and last a good 10-12 hours. Removes easily with micellar water or cleansing oil. While I would prefer the color to be a bit more on the medium side (like NYX’s base or UD’s Eden) to blend in my darker-than-the-rest-of-my-face-eyelids, it’s not a deal breaker at all. Looking forward to try other Zoeva products now.

I like to stick with a good eyelid primer and don’t mess around with it, but occasionally I get tempted to try a new one and this Zoeva primer is one of the primers I was keen on trying out. All Zoeva products have been solid and good so I knew I wasn’t getting something horrible, but it has exceeded my expectations.
It’s super easy to apply and the dispenser is perfect. It will not allow for too much product unless you buckle down on the tube like you would squeezing a lemon. The tube itself is a matte black and looks sleek, but mind you it also gets dirty if your fingers still have some leftover products from the primer on it. The primer itself gives off a light tint to the eyes but as long as you use shadow, it won’t be a problem. I found that my shadows last a good 10 hours, depending on the quality of the shadows. Some last longer than the others, but this primer helps tremendously in keeping all shadows in place regardles of my oily ass lids too.
I do find that the product runs out quickly. Def a whole lot faster than the pot of primer I used from Art Deco before. That one lasted me ages. But considering the price isn’t as cheap as the TF or UD ones, I don’t mind it that much and have already purchased a new one just in case.

Best eyelid primer, ever. The tiniest bit applied on my lids makes eyeshadows (even the average ones) more vibrant and long lasting. I use it under both matte and shimmery shadows. One tube lasts for very long, and product is very affordable.
Bonus: it doesn’t contain beeswax I’m allergic to (unlike UDPP or Art Deco primers)

I was sent this by Zoeva when one of my brushes from an order was dented/damaged, and they sent this as a little gift “for my trouble” along with my replacement brush. This is a great little primer! It comes in a little matte black tube with a tiny nozzle, so it’s easy to dispense just the amount you need. It’s “enriched with rice silk” and is fragrance and paraben free which are nice little features. I found this was excellent at keeping my eye shadow fresh for a full 12hr day. I usually put a tiny dab on one finger, rub it together with my opposite finger and pat it onto my lids. To me the texture reminded me of TooFaced Shadow Insurance – just a little thicker than WnW’s Fergie one. I also did not find this to be drying at all (though I don’t have any issues with the WnW primer either.) Packaging is certainly nicer than the WnW one. The matte black looks classier, while the silver on my WnW is rubbing off. Zoeva also has a “Pearl” version at the same price, which I’d be curious to try.
Zoeva Eyeshadow Fix (Matte) contains 7.5ml/0.25 fl. oz. and costs $6.80 Euros (approx $8.50US)
The price is quite affordable (certainly more so than UD or TF), though when considering it has to ship from Germany, it may not be your sole reason to place an order. It’s definitely a great “add on” to a brush order though!

At the time I am writing this review this product costs $8.50USD from the Zoeva website. 10/2014
I really like this primer! I have tried nars, UD, TFSI as well as mac paint pots. This can best be described as a hybrid between the nars shadow primer and the urban decay. It has a little bit of the grabbiness that the UD original shadow primer has but it also as some of the creaminess that the nar shadow primer has. It has a tint to it, similar to UD Eden but I find it a little bit lighter and a little bit sheerer than eden. I had trouble using eden because it was on the darker side, for my skin tone, but this one goes on sheer enough and light enough that I don’t have any trouble with it looking off on my (probably nc 10ish) skin. In the attached picture you can see I put the product in a dot, and the dot spread out and then with it fully blended out so you can see how the color sheers out.
This product does help my eye shadow stay on all day, it doesn’t prevent me from being able to blend out my shadows, and keeps my shadow color true throughout the day- these things are all I can really ask for from a primer!
Pros: Color is sheer
Formula is grabby but not so much that it prevents blending.
Keeps shadow on all day.
Tube does not squeeze out too much at one time.
Product stays sealed well, no leaking no drying out.
Simple black packaging.
Cons: Strange smell that doesn’t really impact since you use so little but still.. a little gross.
