One of my favourites. It appears like a very unassuming product in a white tube and silver lid, but inside is a light lemony beige eye primer that holds my eyeshadow in place throughout long busy shifts at work. It has a doe foot applicator but truth be told I don’t really use it directly on my lid, I prefer using my finger to apply. But it’s like a mascara tube in that there’s a seal around the tube lip to try to minimise air getting in and drying out the product inside, obviously air does inevitably dry it out but it lasts a good 3-6 months or so with daily use for me.
It sheers out to a barely noticeable tint once spread on my eyelids and is quite thick for a primer, kind of like eye creams but it starts to get tacky after a few seconds. You have to apply eyeshadow before it’s fully dry, but so long as you do it will hold it there for an impressive length of time. I have oily, hooded lids with epicanthic folds covering most of the inner third of both my eyelids and adjoining my nose bridge (though I’m caucasian) so I have serious issues with eyeshadows and non-waterproof mascaras and eyelashes smearing like crazy and giving me a bad case of messy panda eyes very quickly. This reduces smudging massively, and while I’ve not really worn this in the rain for extended periods or the pool, after a 30min walk in the rain my eyeshadow stilll looks the same, no murky black droplet trails down my cheeks. Certainly lasts a good 10-12hrs, never tested out the 24hr claim admittedly.
Used very carefully and very sparingly, it can also be used to prolong wear of undereye concealer but it dries down to a thin resin-y texture that will collect heavy creams and pastes into lines… that then become a bulletproof patchy mess. But when my concealer needs a helping hand, this used on the very darkest areas helps colour correctors and concealers stay in place.
The downside is that it only comes in one shade. It does end up very, very sheer on once dry and if you’re going to use eyeshadow over the top you won’t see it anyway, but those with darker skin tones might find the light cast unpleasant. I don’t know though so YMMV. The other thing is you’ll need to use a decent shadow over it too as poorly pigmented and poorly blendable shadows will go on patchy. Love this and have been repurchasing for years. Usually sells for around £7 or so, so it is on the cheaper end of the eye primer scale too.
