   This is an interesting product because it’s not something I need all the time but it’s a nice color corrector to have on sick days, or during hayfever season, or after an international airplane flight, or the morning after New Year’s Eve. It was really useful when I had red, puffy and watery eyes from a bad cold and I needed to look less ill. I have sensitive skin and it’s one of the few things I could use when I had contact dermatitis. It has a strong yellow undertone and brightens the eye area to give the illusion of being more awake. It was a cooling eye treat when I escaped from a smoke-filled wedding reception with bloodshot eyes. However, the Well-Rested CC Eye Primer looks best when I layer a liquid concealer on top of it. It doesn’t look that yellow going on, but on me it seems to oxidize a bit darker. So I like it under Charlotte Tilbury’s Retoucher or Dolce & Gabbana’s Perfect Matte Concealer. (Those two match my skin better.)

   PROS:

   1. Soothing, cooling, and non-irritating.
   2. The yellow undertone will counteract redness or dark circles that are bluish or purplish.
   3. Contains caffeine to reduce puffiness and redness.
   4. The stick formula is convenient.
   5. Fragrance free for sensitive skin.

   CONS:

   1. Because this has a definite yellow undertone to it, it isn’t a perfect eye shadow primer. It will make anything you put over it appear to be more yellow. My grey eye shadow looks less grey when applied over this, so I prefer the look of a colorless primer for shadows.
   2. The stick formula is thicker than a liquid, and has a texture that doesn’t blend as seamlessly as something like NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer.
   3. It only comes in one color, so you may find that it is noticeably lighter or darker than your skin tone. For many complexions it will work best as a yellow color corrector layered under another concealer that is flesh-toned. (This is how I use it.)
   4. If applied heavily, it can have an obvious or cakey look rather than a natural look, so it isn’t foolproof. It’s not the sort of thing you can build up and reapply several times. Use sparingly.

   I’m glad I bought this even though I only use it for “first aid” or “emergency” makeup days. If you suffer from allergies or head colds, you may enjoy having this in your makeup arsenal. This felt soothing on my eyelids the time I fell asleep on the beach and woke up with a mild sunburn.
