   These were on a list of the best eye makeup removers for 2019. My verdict? These are horrible. The pads are thin, not saturated and do not remove eye makeup in general not even speaking of long wear. That is a hopeless cause with these. They were cheap but I’d rather spend more for something that works in one pass. And I don’t even wear a ton of eye makeup–usually mascara and eyeliner. After I use the 3 pads per eye I still have mascara left and have to use another eye makeup remover to get rid of it. And the next day? I wake up with smudges under my lower lashes. I can’t figure out what these are good for.

   These take 2+pads to remove my eye makeup from one eye. And I still have make up left over. And then I have blurry irritated eyes for hours. How did this product get approved??

   I hate to dog on an affordable product that – in theory – does its job, but this is one eye makeup remover I just won’t use anymore. The pads are thin, scratchy, and irritate the skin around my eyes, even with very little wiping. Like the previous reviewer, I place a pad over my eyelid and lashes, wait at least 20 seconds, then gently wipe to remove my makeup. Despite me being as gentle as possible, my eyelids look red and irritated after using these pads, and my eyes feel sort of dry and gritty. The formula has to be washed off my eye area with either a gel or foam cleanser, because it leaves a gross residue on my skin…sometimes I have to wash my eyelids twice to get it all off. I’ve also used a micellar water in between using the pads and cleansing, to help remove the residue. Also, the only eye makeup I wear is mascara and a bit of concealer, but it still takes 3 of these pads to properly remove my eye makeup (I don’t even use the pads all over my face). I’ve had much better luck using an oil cleanser on my face and eyelids to remove makeup…the OC I use takes everything off (even waterproof mascara) with no rubbing or scrubbing, just a gentle massage. It’s way less harsh on my eyelids and lashes than rubbing them with these pads!

   I usually use Neutrogena’s eye makeup remover, or Target’s dupe of it. However, I recently began using a long wear mascara and it was a little difficult to remove. I was reading a blog and came across a recommendation for this product. I had some CVS extra bucks and decide to try it and see if it was as good as the blogger said it was. Well, IT IS. You take a pad and press on each eye for approximately 20-30 seconds and it swipes almost everything off. I will say I needed a second swipe to totally remove it all, however, if you are wearing long wear/waterproof mascara, waterproof eyeliner and have used primer to make sure your eye shadow isn’t going anywhere, you should not expect it to all remove in one swipe.

   These pads do an excellent job but, the first ingredient is mineral oil, which I know a lot of people don’t care for. It also contains aloe and calendula to sooth the skin. You will need to rinse after you use this to clear the residue. A large container of 120 pads ran $8.99 in CVS, but if you have extra bucks or use coupons, you can probably pay less and they also sell an 80 count container. Also nice for travel is you don’t want to pack separate pads and bottle of remover. One lippie off for having to rinse, but overall satisfied with the product and it does what it says it’s going to do.
