I may be the only one who likes these, but damn I get so frustrated with other eye makeup removers stinging my eyes! Burt’s Bees does not sting. Very nice bees. I don’t wear a lot of eye makeup (just a lot of mascara) and I can use one or maybe two of these pads to remove that – I can even swipe around the rest of my face and get most or all of my other makeup off. I usually rinse, but it’s not that AAAAH GET IT OFF rinsing that I have to do with practically every other eye makeup remover like this.
The pads are shaped like little hexagons (honeycomb?) so as to “get into every corner” but I think that’s nonsense. They’re cute, at least.

I was a little geeked when I saw these. Burt’s Bees? Eye makeup remover pads? Promise to be gentle? I’ll give it a try.
Sadly it’s a bit underwhelming. First, I wear waterproof mascara on gym days, and I had hopes this would help take off that mascara, like the packaging says it would. Nope, it doesn’t. It works okay to remove eyeshadow, and eyeliner will come off with a few swipes, but you’re going to use a lot of pads to remove the waterproof stuff, and even if you set the pad over your eye for 30 seconds, it’s not really going to work.
On the plus side the formula is gentle, and it doesn’t leave a greasy film behind, but this is really only for people who wear just a tiny bit of eye makeup, like a little bit of eyeshadow and a swipe of regular mascara. In those cases it might be okay. But if you wear more makeup, be prepared to use a few pads each go-around to take the product off, and then after that you’re still likely going to have to do extra maintenance to get the eyeliner and mascara off.
In short, I want to like it, but it just doesn’t do the job for me. I wouldn’t even repurchase if it were on clearance.

Folks, Burt’s Bees Eye Makeup Removers Pads goes down as one of the worst products I’ve used for taking off eye makeup. I spotted these because there was a “new” sticker on them and I’m a sucker. They promise to remove waterproof mascara. They remove nothing. The only thing they do is smear the makeup you are wearing all around your eyes. I looked like a raccoon. I decided to give them a second try as I had smudged a little eye liner this morning. Nope, didn’t budge it off my eye area. Product fail. I’m writing to Burt’s Bees about this one. I’m going back to my Neutrogena Oil Free Gentle Eye Maker Remover.

These eye makeup pads are just okay. They reduced my eyeliner to greasy smudges under my eyes, but they didn’t remove the eyeliner completely. My eye shadow came off easily though. They did not irritate or burn my eyes at all. That being said, the Yes to Cucumbers eye makeup remover pads don’t irritate me either, but they can remove my eyeliner entirely. I do find that the Up & up pads are a bit thicker than the Yes to Cucumbers pads, but that doesn’t really make a difference to me.
Bottom line: these are cheap enough to deserve a try if you’re looking for eye makeup removing wipes that aren’t irritating, but for me not good enough to purchase again.

I bought these on an impulse buy to see how well they would work against the typical remover solutions I use with a cotton round. It is not that bad. The price was decent and you get thirty in a package. The packaging is similar to a miniature package of wet wipes or baby wipes with the peel back opening. Small enough to fit in a cosmetic bag. They are pre-moistened circular pads that are a tad bit larger than a cotton round. They have a liquid soaked into them, but do not feel like they have any oil in them – if they even do. The wipes took off all my eye makeup without much effort. It did not cause any stinging like I have had with some makeup wipes – which I was purely flabbergasted by. I have not had a chance to try it out on waterproof mascara yet, because I don’t generally wear waterproof in the winter. I will tell you that it did a good job taking off a water proof liquid eyeliner from H*LL that I own! It did not dry my skin out, even when I took my makeup off long before I went into the shower. It is an exceptional remover, so grab a package next time you are at Target.
