Dry shampoos can actually cause so much damage to hair follicles in the long run, so I can’t even begin to describe how happy I was to find this Briogeo dry shampoo formula that is actually healthy and good for your hair.
I have dry scalp due to the fact that I am a professional swimmer and have to wash my scalp after every training (I do not want any chlorine stuck in my roots). My scalp can get a bit oily a day after I wash it, so dry shampoo is a must in my haircare routine. Most brands I have used in the past would absorb oils but give me a very itchy scalp as a result. Briogeo doesn’t!
I like that this is not an aerosol; if you are careful enough you can easily distribute the product and it does last all day long for me. I share more details on this and other Scalp Revival products in a separate review here ( Hope it helps!

This was so close to being a HG dry shampoo for me! Unfortunately, it fell short because it just wasn’t oil absorbing enough. I have relatively healthy hair that’s prone to an itchy and oily scalp, so I use dry shampoo pretty much every other day. I always go for non-aerosol dry shampoos simply because they are way cheaper in the long run.
In the morning when I apply it, I use the usual amount of dry shampoo I’ve always used but that just enough to absorb all the oil on my scalp, so even when I apply the powder directly onto the area, my hair can still look oily. I always have to go in a second time and target oilier sections (eg, my hair parting) to make sure I’ve got them all covered.
Everything else about this is perfect. It feels very weightless, no heavy, tacky, ‘product build up’ feeling at all. The packaging is fantastic, very easy to dispense the dry shampoo nice and evenly directly onto your scalp. Although I find it’s general oil absorbing properties lacking and I have to apply more than my usual amount, it does do a good job of continuing to keep the oil at bay for the rest of the day. Visually, it also looks great. The powder is very fine and very easy to massage or brush away, leaving no visible residue even against my dark hair. It also gives the very slightest amount of volume and doesn’t weigh down your hair.
The price is also very reasonable. However, I’m not quite sure if I’d repurchase later on, as the whole main reason I use dry shampoo is for my oily scalp, but we’ll see! Perhaps this dry shampoo would be the HG for someone else who has dry hair or a less oily scalp than mine. In the meantime I will happily continue using this til it finishes, it’s definitely one of the best dry shampoos I’ve used.

After researching and trying out a million dry shampoos for a blog article about dry shampoos I came to the conclusion that I just don’t like them, especially given my dandruffy scalp. This on the other hand I can use, which makes it a winner for me.

Just picked up this Briogeo Scalp Revival Dry Shampoo with charcoal and biotin from Sephora over the weekend, and I really love this product already!
I was not in the market for a dry shampoo, my sister was, and on a whim I found this new brand called Briogeo at the end of a shelf. And I tried some in my hair (my bangs and hairline usually get greasy in the summer very easily) and it was wonderful!
Took me a while to figure out how to use it, but basically the product comes in a squeezable soft plastic bottle and the hard lid looks like the kind of thing you would push down like an aerosol can, but it’s not, you just squeeze the bottle right side up, and a light mist of the product comes out of the little not-an-areosol hole allowing for wide but fine coverage.
I have black hair and am constantly annoyed with dry shampoos that seem to go on white, but I did not have that problem here, I just sprayed a little in my bangs and near my roots, shook it through my hair, styled, and you cant tell at all I’m wearing any product.
The finish is not sticky at all, doesnt leave any residue, and seems to be really good at picking up all the oils in my hair.
I’m an esthetician and i’m constantly putting oils and other things in my hair throughout the day as it falls in my face, and this product really helped keep my hair looking light and not greasy.
Good ingredients, made with rice, corn, tapioca, bamboo, witch hazel, kaolin clay, baking soda, charcoal powder, and some orange and peach extract, although I don’t find the smell to be noticeable at all, which I like.
Product also boasts no sulfates, no silicones and no parabens.
Overall really impressed, and for the price $28 Canadian for 50mL, I think this will be a new big thing in dry shampoo, I’m throwing out all my other dry shampoos, call me crazy?

This stuff smells amazing…!
i have been disappointed with inexpensive options and splurged on a few, got into this because I put it with my open ones and groggily grabbed this… once I got a sniff I was in love. I find powders to be a good option in the winter when wearing hats because I can just give my hair a bit of a toss with my fingers and look fresh and not greasy. My hair is light enough to not worry about looking powdery, but I give it a good brush as well.
It also helps with any scalp itchies from having dry scalp too, but I don’t rely on this alone and use the other products from the scalp revival line too. I would not use this at all when using the scalp oil between shampoos, pick one or the other because they kind of counteract each other.
This is one of the aerosol-free pouffier bottles where you shake it and have to try to evenly distribute an occasional shot of too much powder coming out at once. I do shake with the cap twisted shut, but then tip it up and try to get s gentle pour on 6-8 places and then scrub with my fingertips. I am terribly tempted to hoard a few bottles of this (and the deodorant.)
