I love the smell, and it brings back my late teen years. No combination product works for my hair, I always need conditioner, but I can’t stop buying this stuff for the memories. I use it as a body wash as well.

Interestingly I used this for years then realized this might be the one that’s ruining my hair. And It doesn’t smells good to me at all. After switched to another shampoo and a separate conditioner my hair got much softer and less frizzy.

This is the best shampoo I’ve ever used. I try other things but I always come back to this and wonder why I strayed to anything else. I have really fine, straight, hard to style hair and this shampoo just makes the absolute best of my hair. My hair doesn’t need a separate conditioner when I use this, even if my hair is colored. My hair is typically not the easiest to comb through but with Pert, it’s like I have used a conditioner. My hair dries smooth and nice, but with lots of body. I’ve been using this since I was a teen I think(or whenever it first came out), and I’m mid forties now. Good stuff.

When I was in my first year of high school, I used Pert a lot. I happened to see this at the Dollar Store for two bucks, so, nostalgic for the scent, and the good ole days, I bought it. I am very happy that the powers that be kept the same scent, green product and green package colour. I have long wavy fragile hair that is very prone to breakage, it is also dry and limp. This shampoo was a pleasure to use, the scent and colour are wonderful, however, I need extra conditioner on my ends. Also, I would not use this product consecutively because of the silicone buildup, but that’s fine with me because I am a shampoo and conditioner junkie with plenty of product to spare in rotation with this.
Don’t change the scent, shampoo colour or bottle colour!

I was shopping at my local cvs and i saw this bottle. I thought pert plus was discontinued back in the 90s. It was on sale for 2 bucks so why not?? Anyway, my hair feels so clean and so healthy, just like it did when i was younger. And the smell, it smells so fresh and reminds me of better days 🙂 in grade school.

This is my summertime shampoo, when I take two showers a day and don’t have time to separately shampoo and condition. It lathers like crazy, smells nice, and doesn’t strip my hair. And of course it’s like, five bucks for a huge bottle.

Just to give a quick background- I have lots of long fine curly to wavy hair that is prone to breakage. I am also super OCD about any shampoo/conditioner/product being completely out of my hair before I step out of the shower so I know the failure of this product was not because I didn’t rinse well enough. This stuff totally ruined my hair for a good week. After finally getting this product totally out of my hair I waited for it to air dry. Just as it was starting to dry I smoothed my hand over my hair to find the most awful disgusting film all the way down a good 2 inches from my roots…yuck 😛 It took literally 7 to 8 days for this stuff to finally get completely out of my hair after washing and repeating with a clarifying shampoo. Maybe the light formula would work better for my hair (?) but I am too afraid to try and see after this fiasco…

I’m mixed race (latina, black, and white) and my hair is extremely curly & frizz prone (straightens easily though). I’ve spent a ton of money on expensive products (mixed chicks & carols daughter, aveda). My aunt had this in the shower & i tried it. then i used my mixed chicks leave in conditioner. i got the same beautiful results as i did with the high end products. my hair was super curly and frizz free! not bulky at all just laid nicely. this was so cheap too i forget the exact price but under $5! i’m on my second bottle.

In an attempt to downsize my beauty products I went all-out and got a 2 in 1. I remember my mother using this on me when I was a kid. Why did I not use it? It’s quite possibly the best thing I’ve ever done for my hair. Better than any shampoo and conditioner combo I’ve found, and it’s just a case of one application and you’re done! No waiting around with conditioner or anything. I have very frizzy and brittle hair and it has reacted incredibly well to this stuff. Most impressed and will be buying it forever.
Packaging is good; nice simple bottle with a flip top lid.
Price is dirt cheap. NZ$5.60.
Replaces the need for two bottles with one.
Would be great for travelling too.
Love it!

I have baby fine and thin hair. Although I’ve come to love it, one of the cons is it gets dry easily and/or oily and because it’s so thin and fine my hair is either messy/dry or limpy/oily. It’s really hard for me to find products and combinations that work. Natural and otherwise. This shampoo/conditioner does the jobs: cleans my hair but does not strip, conditions but does not make it limpy and makes my hair full of volume and shiny. I don’t use any other products or do anything else to my hair since it’s already straight so this is all I need to manage my hair.
