This stuff was pleasantly surprising. I haven’t had great luck with dry shampoos other than Batiste original. However, this stuff didn’t leave a white residue and didn’t dry out my hair. It’s heavily scented but the scent is not gross to me. It’s a bit expensive so I don’t know if I’d buy a full bottle but I like the travel sized one that came in a travel pack of products.

First of all.. I’d buy this just for the smell! Also I found that a little product goes a long way and no touch-up is needed during the day. Will definitely buy again.

I have thick, coarse, dark, Asian hair. I don’t think this product does as good of a job as some of the staples out there like Batiste or Psssst. I also think that the white cast that this leaves is difficult to rub out. I also didn’t think this product lasted for very long and I felt like I used the can up pretty quickly. It smells great (hence the 2 lippies), but not good enough to justify a repurchase.

I bought this dry shampoo after seeing all the positive reviews on Sephora. While I do agree that it works as advertised, and the spray bottle distributes the product well, I cannot stand the strong scent. I am not someone who is typically sensitive to scents, but this dry shampoo is almost like a concentrated bottle of artificial floral-powdery perfume! Definitely better dry shampoos on the market.

This is the first dry shampoo I have ever used before and it is not a product I would recommend to anyone. At first, I thought it wasn’t working out because I was new to dry shampoos but since purchasing this, I have tried out other brands and used the same method of application and ended up getting amazing results with those other products. So, I learned that this product just does not work well with my hair at all. This dry shampoo has a strong white cast and even after I have applied it, worked it into my scalp, and gone to bed, I will wake up with flakes all over and a powdery scalp.
I’ve done everything to make this product work. I’ve shaken the can vigorously, held it as far back as possible, used my finger tips (when my hair is curly so I don’t ruin my curls), combed it through (for when my hair is straight), and applied it before going to bed to just name a few. And even with all those different attempts, I end up with hair that looks worse than before. Also, the smell! It has the classic Amika smell which I actually like but in dry shampoo form, it lingers for hours and when it mixes with the oils in my hair it is not a good scent.
I really wanted to like this product since it isn’t that cheap of a product but I ended up being disappointed. Granted, I do have dark brown hair so girls with lighter hair might find good use with this product but if you have darker hair, you might want to steer clear. Also, if you like to go multiple days without washing your hair (3-4 or more) then go for a dry shampoo that is build able. To me, this dry shampoo is a one time application type of product. It will get you through that last day but don’t expect it to get you through a couple days.

I received a travel sized can on this with some other Akima products as part of a 500pt perk from Sephora, so I can’t vouch for the price. I actually liked the travel size can as it was small enough to toss in my purse and use to touch up on the go. I like that it has a light fragrance that quickly dissipates. I have virgin hair that is around a level 6-7 riding the cusp between dark blonde and light brown. My hair has a very obvious natural ashy tone, so on my hair at least this didn’t leave and obvious cast. If you have fine hair that get oily easily, or just oily hair in general I don’t think this is the best choice. By the end of the day my hair once again looked limp and in need of a wash, but this a good choice for a temporary fix. I prefer this over Batiste, but I don’t like it as much as Toni and Guy Rockaholic.

I’ve tried a few dry shampoos (my friend’s Batiste, Suave, Schwartzkopf), and this is my favorite so far. it doesn’t leave my dark hair gray, and the smell is beautiful and not too strong. plus, the packaging motif is so cute and happy. knocked a star because it’s pricey.

LOVE THIS!! This is my first dry shampoo product, and I can’t believe that I’ve never tried this before. It’s not an every day use product, but if you know you’re going to have a long day, then definitely pack one of these with your bag. At the end of a day when you’re hair is a bit heavy, annoyingly oily at the roots, this is the perfect quick fix. It takes 2-3 seconds to spray this in your roots, massage in the dry white bits, and just brush out your hair to get all the bounce and shine back in your hair. Your hair really does feel like you just got out of the shower and blow dried it after only 3 quick sprays. I’m definitely packing this with me over the holidays when I’m traveling.

I received a trial size of this dry shampoo in a subscription box and didn’t expect it to be any different than other spray dry shampoos I’ve tried. I generally find them messy and they always seem to leave my hair with a grayish cast, no matter how much I brush the powder out. Moreover, the residue left over makes my hair feel matted and dirtier than it was before. However, this Amika dry shampoo did absorb the excess oil well and it brushed out easier than other brands I’ve used. I sprayed it on the roots, rubbed it in well (like shampoo) and let it sit for about 20 minutes, while I applied my makeup. I brushed the powder out with a 100% boar bristle brush (plastic bristles don’t work for this maneuver) and the product left very little residue in my hair. It did absorb the oil and it smells really clean and fresh. I definitely felt it left my hair cleaner than it was before and there was some subtle volume too. But the regular size of this product is quite expensive, especially if I use it a couple of times a week. So I likely won’t be purchasing the full size. However, the best dry shampoo I’ve ever used isn’t a spray product at all. Bumble and Bumble Pret a Powder is by far the superior product. I sprinkle the powder into the roots in 1/2 inch partings from ear to ear and then work it in well with my fingers. I let it sit for about 20 minutes and most of the powder is absorbed by the oil, leaving very little residue. What residue is left over is easily brushed out and I’m left with a great deal of volume that lasts all day. Yes, it’s expensive. But it takes very little powder to do the job so the size is deceptive. The 2 ounce bottle lasts a long longer than than it may appear at first glance. I use it about twice a week and I still have half a bottle left after a couple of months. Although Amika spray dry shampoo is good, Pret a Powder is great!! I much prefer the loose powder to messy spray products that are very easy to overdo. I can control the amount of powder I use with Pret a Powder and it gives me much more volume than I get with Amika. I’m sure a spray product has very little powder in it because most of the weight is propellant so 2 ounces is likely generous. Although Amika has a strong scent, I prefer BB because the light fragrance doesn’t interfere with my perfume. So all in all, if I’m going to shell out big $$ for a dry shampoo, I’d much rather buy Pret a Powder. The ingredients seem different than any other dry shampoo I’ve tried, including other loose powders (Beyond the Zone Volumizing Powder and Osis Dust It) and that difference makes it superior. There’s simply no comparison with spray dry shampoos and if you’re willing to try it, I’m sure you’ll love Pret a Powder as much as I do. If I were marooned on a desert island, I certainly would want Pret a Powder with me in my beauty arsenal. It gives me that tousled, bedhead, beachy texture that’s so on trend right now. Amika is good, don’t get me wrong. And if I were simply recommending a good spray dry shampoo, it would definitely get my vote. But if you want a better result and tons of lasting volume, Pret a Powder is the way you want to go.

I’m really underwhelmed by this dry shampoo. It leaves a terrible white cast on my hair (currently medium brown, because I need my color redone). It looked like I had terrible greying at my roots, and even when I really worked the shampoo into my hair, the white cast remained. My hair did not feel significantly cleaner or fresher, nor was there any added volume. This stuff shoots out of the can heavily and quickly, not in a problematic way, just be aware that you should start with a light hand. It’s easy to get a lot of product on the hair quickly.
This stuff is also expensive. It’s about four times the price of a can of Batiste, and I like the Batistie better.
On the plus side, this does smell good, and the smell lingers for several hours in the hair, which I love. I’d say this product is heavily perfumed, which is great for me, but if you’re sensitive to smells, I wouldn’t go near it. The bottle is also really cute, with a bright floral design. Overall, though, it just doesn’t perform well.
