This is very effective at preventing odor and reducing sweating. It does not leave white marks on dark clothing like the solid deodorant can. HOWEVER, Secret Clinical Strength Gel DID leave oily-looking marks on a silk blouse I have, and it was a pain to clean because the fabric is so delicate. (The marks looked similar to oil stains from oil-and-vinegar salad dressing that splashes on a silk tie.) It happened because the gel felt dry under my arms and I put on my clothes, but the gel wasn’t completely dry after all. The marks were small yet obvious and I was afraid my blouse was ruined. It required extra money and extra work by the dry cleaner to fix it. I never had this problem with Ban Roll-On, which is a very effective antiperspirant, too.
So I put the Secret Clinical Gel in my gym bag because I only wear crappy cotton and spandex to work out. Everything in my gym bag is machine-washable and I don’t care whether it looks perfect or not.
If you occasionally wear expensive fabric that has a sheen to it, keep it away from this antiperspirant, at least if there’s any doubt that the gel could still be moist. Put on the antiperspirant first with your silk or satin blouse safely on a hanger several feet away and do not put it on until this gel has fully dried, even if you are running late. Use the hairdryer to blow it dry if you have to, and make sure Secret Clinical Gel is really, really bone dry before you wear silk.

My HG! Nothing else worked for me. This stops all sweating, even on hot and humid summer days. I love the clear gel, which dries super fast and never leaves marks on my clothes. Like the previous reviewer, I have several spares ready at all times. If I could change anything it would be the price, which can be 2-3x more expensive than regular antiperspirants. But I will continue to pay it for the results I get.

Update 30/11/16: Still my favourite deodorant but Deandra’s advice about letting this stuff dry properly before getting dressed is 100% on the mark. It does seem to take a little longer to dry than I originally remembered so I usually put it on before I do my makeup and hair and then get dressed. There’s a slightly clammy feeling for awhile too that dissipates within 10 mins. So yes, exercise the usual caution you would with deodorant when you’re getting dressed. No white steaks but damp stains are potentially am issue. I’m not gonna dock any lippies but consider this an A- grade.
Wow, I think my search for the perfect deodorant may actually be over. To provide some background, I have tried a TON of deodorants – roll-ons, solids, gels, sprays, natural/organic, drugstore, etc – and they all have fallen short to varying degrees. I long ago concluded that the natural ones are utterly useless. I’d rather risk having my skin absorb some (possibly) harmful chemicals than reek of BO, thanks. So, clinical strength it is!
Having tried the ‘invisible’ solid clinical strength deodorant and been rather disappointed that it was not, in fact, invisible (not once did it fail to leave very obvious white streaks on my shirts), t I was really excited about the idea of the product coming in a clear gel. Aside from the streak thing, the clinical strength line really does an amazing job at keeping me sweat and BO-free all day.
I’m happy to report that the Clinical Strength Gel totally lived up to my expectations and I currently have like three backups sitting in my bathroom cabinet. It performs just as well as an antiperspirant as the solid version does and, most importantly, it actually is INVISIBLE! No white streaks ever, no having to gingerly shimmy into my tops, no weird chalky residue coating my underarms. It’s just, well…invisible. I also really like the feeling of the gel texture, which feels cool and refreshing when you apply it and dries quickly as well. (It also oozes out of the top of the tube like pasta noodles, which is sort of fun but also really efficient at keeping the product from drying out and dispensing just the right amount).
One word of advice – the gel version comes in several different scents. I highly, highly recommend that you buy it in the unscented formula (which is labelled as being for sensitive/hypoallergenic skin). The first time I bought this I got it in the Completely Clean scent, which turned out to be EXTREMELY strong. The first day I used it, I kept on getting whiffs of these weird soapy melon- y scent and wondered what it was. My perfume? Air freshener? New laundry detergent powder? Finally it clicked and I realised it was my deodorant. Now, if you like the scent of that generic soap they use in public bathrooms – you know the stuff…synthetic, vaguely fruity smelling and pesto-bismol pink – then you won’t be disappointed with Secret Clinical Strength Deodorant in Completely Clean. For all the rest of you though, steer clear is what I’d advise (or else run the risk of smelling sort of like a public bathroom.)
