Do any other Chantecaille refills fit this compact? I used up this foundation so quickly I’m reluctant to buy the same thing at once, but the compact is so nice it seems like a massive waste to throw it away. I haven’t been able to find this information online. Does anyone know if there are any compatible products?

As several people have already said, if you need a lot of coverage to conceal skin issues, this is definitely not for you…but if you have good skin to start with, and just want a nice skin evening glow with a high, non- chemical, SPF ..this is great! I use the sponge it comes with, but I dampen it first. Lasts all day for my fair, mature (ok old) extremely dry skin. Seems if you go thru it really fast, you’re probably using too much…takes a while to get used to it. Put on a light coat and check it out a minute or two later to see if you really need more. Expensive, but worth it IMO.

I am a huge Chantecaille fan but this is just ok. It’s light and sheer yet makes my skin look flawless but it catches on any dry areas. I have found the best way to apply is to press it on to the skin using the sponge. The sponge is very hard to wash and it’s quite hard to remove, even with an oil cleanser.
It is expensive for what it is.

Flawless, light coverage that blends like a dream into the skin. I use a dampened latex-free wedge sponge to apply, and it gives coverage that is sheer yet somehow makes my face look flawless. It covers my mild rosacea without any irritation whatsoever. I have very dry skin –I apply a layer of CeraVe cream first, let it dry, then put this on with a damp sponge in short, light strokes. Afterwards, I press my hands on my face to “set” the makeup and it truly looks flawless. I’m no makeup artist–in fact, I’m a complete klutz–but the formula is so forgiving and so easy to work with that my makeup turns out great every time I use it.
I can’t recommend this if you need heavy coverage, but if you’re looking for just a little something to even out your skintone, give this a try. The only drawback is the (very) steep price.
I use Fresh and I’m an NC15 leaning neutral.

This is truly a luxury for the skin. I’m an NC25 user but I got this in Bliss, since there weren’t enough choices offered in my country (south korea). I would rather look a tone lighter than using the wrong base tone. But the color doesn’t really matter since it just melts into your skin after a couple of minutes, creating the MSBB look. this really does live up to its name real skin. With this on, I look like I have slept for ten hours the night before, and I love how it gives off this non-greasy glow even after a lot of time since application. It doesn’t take or get patchy on your skin even during re-touching with minimal oxidation. My skin feels so comfortable under this, and i’m amazed at how real skin can make your face look so much better without heavy coverage. I paid an absurd amount (equivalent to approx. 100USD here) but I’m definitely coming back to this one.

It breaks me out every time I use it . Besides that, I actually do like this foundation when I’m in a good skin day. It’s like a tinted primer that smooths out the skin, adds a bit glow and provides minimal coverage. Average staying power, on my oily skin it holds about 4 hours.

First, let me say this, Real Skin is “Translucent Makeup”, which in itself pretty much says it all in terms of coverage.
If you’re looking for medium to full coverage with this product, run along to the next one because this one is not going to cut it.
This is the equivalent to a tinted moisturizer in a cream compact form that is ideal to travel with with higher than average SPF. The fact that the product only has 4 shades should be a sigh for those who think this is has lots of coverage, it is transparent in nature otherwise even fair to medium skin tones couldn’t be matched in the available range, but I digress.
Being high in silicone and wax (something they called crystalline wax), it has a lot of slip and its fairly easy (and quick to blend), the shades adapto your skin tone and unify the complexion as long as there isn’t a lot to correct (hence why I compare it to a tinted moisturizer) and gives you a dewy radiant complexion.
The packaging is glamorous but the crappy(ish) sponge made me deduct a point.
Didn’t break me out but it’s a product that I will reserve for Winter and Spring as it might make me look oily in warmer temperatures.
For reference, I got matched in “Bliss”.

Oh my, what a gorgeous foundation! Perfect for someone who actually doesn’t like to wear foundation on a regular base and who doesn’t need to cover up much. I have dry, sensitive, Rosacean, pale (cool- to neutral toned NW10) skin but I just need something to even out my ruddy cheeks. Although I like my LM Silk Creme Foundation in #Soft Ivory I was desperately looking for a more sheer foundation coming in a shade pale enough which also doesn’t irritate my skin. I was very reluctant to spend $$$ on this foundation but I’m glad I did. It feels so smooth and leaves a glowy, dewy finish. Truly my skin but better. The shade #Fresh is quite a neutral toned colour and blends perfectly to match my complexion. I don’t use the included (not so great) sponge but I use the BeautyBlender to apply. The SPF30 is a nice bonus. So far I didn’t experience any irritations. It comes in a nice mirrored compact and refills are available. I’d like to compare this foundation to a TM because of the light texture and sheer coverage. Would I repurchase? As for the moment, yes! pbi There are two versions of Real Skin Foundation: the one that isn’t listed with SPF actually has an SPF8 and is slightly less creamy than the one with SPF30. *PPP Foundations List in My Notepad*

I really love this foundation. It’s a very sheer coverage product-similar I think to a tinted moisturizer, without getting shiny on my T zone like the TM’s I’ve tried. It gives a matte, but not dried looking finish that doesn’t come off when I touch my face. Expensive, but worth it for me.

This is great for the winter. When I first opened the pretty little purple box it came in, I was a bit hesitant to try it because it looked very creamy and thought would be cakey. It was great, very light and felt like my skin can breathe.
