I adore this foundation. I usually wear a zinc oxide type SPF (right now it’s Sun Bum) and Full Coverage Foundation layers beautifully over it. The SPF does thin out the coverage a bit, but I typically apply this with a foundation brush and let it bake for a few minutes (if I have time) and then blend lightly. I use it more as a spot concealer than a full foundation. I’ve found that as I’ve gotten older I dislike powdery looking foundations, and prefer something that will apply well over SPF.
The coverage is also buildable, but it builds better if it doesn’t have any creams or lotions underneath and your skin is super clean. It is a bit more difficult to blend this way, but you will also have less transfer.
If you are on the oily side you may have to touch up. Can also be set with powder (I recommend Prep & Prime or any ultra- light silica-type powder.

I gave it 4 stars on packaging because i wish there was a mirror. Other than that this is an amazing all in one product. You just have to make sure you know how to apply it. You can use it as a sheer coverage, or you can build it to full very easily and use as a concealer. First you will want to make sure you exfoliate and moisturize well. I use a flat buffing brush. I dampen the brush first and lightly grab a little foundation with it and pat it on in downward strokes till i need grab a little more. a little goes a long way. Than you can use a concealer brush or fingers to press on areas you need to conceal more. It goes on flawlessly. Looks like natural skin. The shade nc15 fits my pale nuetral skin perfectly!! It is very hard as a pale girl to find shades that are not orangy or dirty. and this shade is perfect. It looks darker in the pan that it does when you apply it. It covers my redness around my nose lovely and my spider veins under my one eye. I love it!

I went into using this product expecting it to sort out my rosacea and discoloured skin. I ended up looking like a cakey mess, with my skin still looking discoloured in places.
The biggest problem with this product is that it is terrible for dry skin like mine. It clung to all my dry patches, and actually showed up areas of dryness which I didn’t know I had! All in all, I looked a mess. Also, the palest shade was too dark for me.
The foundation has a creamy consistency, which I found difficult to blend on the skin. Stippling it in with a brush didn’t really work, so I resorted to buffing it in, which I felt left the product just sitting on my skin. I tried warming it up with my fingers first, but it was still hard to spread about.
It is definitely a full coverage foundation, which feels like a mask once it’s on the face. I was aware I was wearing it throughout the day, and it even felt rather itchy.
Will not be buying again.

I HATE this foundation a lot. I really really wanted to like it but I just couldnt…it just doesnt suit dry skin at alll….its goes on very blotchy and it highlights dry patches like theres no tomorrow. I have tried using everything to let it work and all types of application and still it looked like shit on my skin and everyone could tell I was wearing foundation and a thick one. As for the shades, they are way lighter than other Mac foundations. I am an nc15 girl and when I got this one in the same shades I looked like a ghost as it is waaay lighter than I expected. I will not repurchase this product and dont recommend anyone to buy it.

This is my holy grail full coverage foundation, with that said, it takes time and practice to perfect it. YOU MUST USE A MOISTURIZER, PRIMER, then the foundation, THEN SETTING POWDER, THEN A SETTING SPRAY. This is the order I use and it works wonders for me, no shine, no creasing. I use the Estee Lauder Matte Perfecting Primer because it cuts the shine that this foundation might give without the matte primer. This item lasts a LONG time! I’ve been using it everyday for 3 months and still haven’t come close to hitting bottom. You can use this everyday (and not just on Broadway) because it’s buildable. It will cover any scar but you have to apply this a few times to see what works best for you. AMAZING! Worth every penny.

This is one of those foundations your face cannot handle on a daily basis. It’s very thick and heavy, which is good in some instances. This foundation is perfect for the stage (pageant girls, dancers, etc). It creates a flawless and perfect face, but besides wearing it on the stage, you won’t catch this foundation on my face. It makes my face oh so oily!

Firstly I gave this a high packaging rating because I had no issue whatsoever with it; just basic foundation packaging.
As for the product – I hated it.
I so so so so so wanted to love it, I read so many great reviews and was excited to have an all in one product to cover my acne, extreme scaring and hyper pigmentation.
After watching several online tutorials I applied the product with a buffing brush. It felt thick and heavy on my skin. This is something I am more than willing to live with in order to cover my scaring, however it didn’t. All my scars were fully visible and my spots even more so. I’ve had years of practice of applying makeup to cover my skin concerns so this was no mistake on my part in application.
Determined to make it work I added some concealer etc and it appeared to have covered most of my problem areas. An hour later however and the majority of my scars were visible again and all of the foundation had gathered into my smile lines and pores.
Basically it was a disaster. Perhaps for those with problem skin but not as severe as mine this is a miracle product. But the greasy, heavy feel on my skin, lack of coverage and caking made it a throw away product for me. I cant even use it as a concealer as some people have suggested because it just slides straight off.
Very sad as this was expensive and usually MAC products are my holy grail.
This said, other skin types may have better luck, however if my descriptions of my skin type match yours, avoid this product.

I use the MAC tear drop sponge or MAC fdtn brush (does not come w any applicators), to apply this. It’s time consuming to work it in thin layers which I suggest building it rather than one thick layer that will result in cake face & later will melt off ur face. I don’t use w beauty blender coz it wastes my precious product more than w brush or flat sponge. I know coz I’ve tried both techniques. This fdtn is awesome thou covers evthing. I got mine a shade too light but I’m making it work but I wore NC15 in high school so I automatically ordered NC15 again well it’s not quite right but better to be a hair too pale than overly dark Snooki looking. High rec’d!! This is a godsend for me coz I have so many freckles that I hate & this gives me such good coverage but it can be sheered out too. It can double as a concealer too but I prefer using StudioFinish concealer as concealer but this will do. Mine is a bit dry which was disappointing but maybe scratching off the initial layer will prove to be helpful it may reveal more usable product. This isn’t for beginners & I noticed I see there is a learning curve w this also but once I got the hang of working w it, it produces a beautifully beat face photoshop flawless. Really good stuff. I have 4 MAC fdtn’s & I have a hard time deciding which is my fave coz they are all so different but in a good way! MAC is my fave line. <3...

I think I may have found my HG foundation. I rarely give any reviews. However, I must say this foundation did not look cakey on me and provided me with a soft focus glow – almost natural looking skin.
My application routine: Moisturize!!! I use MAC stobe cream followed by Too Faced Primed and Poreless primer. I use my RT buffing brush to apply the foundation, then I just use my beauty blender to make sure that the foundation has been absorbed by my skin.
Voila, a nice flawless skin. I use Skindinivia Finishing Spray in Oil Control to finish it off 🙂

This foundation really gives a full coverage. If you have an acne problem, you gonna love it. I’m using it with an oil-free primer and transparent powder, otherwise it makes my t-zone shiny because it has an oily and creamy formula. In my opinion, this is more suitable for normal and dry skin types.
