This. Is my holy grail foundation. Best foundation I have. It matches my Chinese skin very well, and the undertone is pretty spot on. Maybe because Suqqu is a Japanese brand, but it matches oriental skin pretty well. It doesn’t oxidise throughout the day either. It sort of blends into your skin and matches well throughout the day.
It gives your skin this glow from within, like baby skin. Also it gets better the longer you wear it. It makes your skin look plump and healthy, like you just got 10 hours of sleep. Think it looks best after around 4 hours of wear. Coverage is medium, doesn’t look caked on the skin, and let’s a bit of your natural skin through. But I would say it is enough if you only have slight blemishes on your face. I always use a primer underneath, so it’s quite long lasting. Still there after 12 hours! I like to apply it using a beauty blender so it goes on as a thin layer to preserve that healthy glowy look.
I find it quite moisturising, so a moisturising primer is not required for me. I like to use a pink or purple base just to make my skin look a bit brighter. Obviously if your skin is as dry as the desert don’t anticipate it looking great on your skin – I don’t think any foundation will look good unfortunately!
Not sure what to think of the packaging though. It’s good that you are able to scoop everything out of it, however it can also get very messy and foundation gets all over the lid etc. The spatula included is great because it means you don’t have to dip your finger in each time.
My most pricey foundation at £65. Works wonders for my face, so I definitely will be repurchasing. However they have now released an extra glow foundation which is more glory compared to this foundation. Tempted to give that a try too!

Let’s start with the positives. The coverage is a medium to full, I can use this foundation as concealer by dotting and blending a bit under my eyes and over redness. I can also use a concealer brush to pat on more foundation over problem areas. The finish is quite beautiful, not dewy or bare-skin but it does have a subtle, non-sparkle glow. The result is skin that looks polished and ‘expensive’.
It also has SPF 30 with the elegant texture true to its Japanese roots. I always use SPF 50 PA+++ sunscreen under my makeup, but it’s nice to know my foundation is layering on the sun protection.
If you have dry skin, it’s vital that you moisture properly before applying the foundation. It’s not moisturising, despite being re-named ‘Extra Rich’, and it cracks, settles, and overall highlights dryness and dehydration. If your skin is plump and hydrated, you probably will notice no fault. But if, like me, you experience bouts of dryness and sit in a air-conditioned heated room all day, this foundation won’t be friendly at the end of an 9-hour day. While it may look beautiful freshly applied, after 5-6 hours I can see some signs of dryness especially around my nose, and by the 9th hour mark, I am ready to take off my makeup, given that my bare skin would look better.
Packaging is another thing worthy of note. The foundation is housed in a luxurious, heavy glass jar with a gold mirror-finished lid. The upside is you can control precisely how much foundation you take and get the last scoop out. The downside is it’s messy and the foundation gets into the crevices and smears on the lid. I like to scoop out a week’s worth of product and depot it into a Muji container. The complimentary spatular is very helpful.
All in all, a good foundation for normal to oily skin and I’d caution ladies and men with dry to very dry skin to purchase with care.
EDIT: It’s summer now and my skin has recovered from dryness. Previously I didn’t understand the reviews saying that the finish gets better the longer you wear it, but I understood today when I wore it from 11AM to 9PM (10 hours), it was so gorgeous and natural-looking towards the end of the night but somehow retained its coverage.

This might be fine for younger ladies. I was hoping All the hype about extra rich, good coverage and natural looking skin would lead to my Holy Grail. Not even close. I did find this foundation to be nice and creamy and it blended nice on application. It gave high medium coverage but natural looking it was not. I didn’t find it to feel drying but it made my skin look very dry and more textured than it is. It dried down fairly quickly with no glow or dewiness – just flat and dry looking. Actually made pores more prominent and wrinkles more noticeable.
Maybe this would work better on younger skin but it definitely doesn’t sit well on my 60 plus year old skin. It’s a “no go” for me.

I am so torn! I`ve been saving to buy a good foundation, so I`ve been testing out the top notch Japanese brands (Cle de Peau, loved it!; Albion, loved it!) and a few Western brands. Most of the newer foundations on the market are SO GOOD, it is not easy to make a decision. Today I`ve tried the new one from Suqqu, the Extra Rich Cream Foundation, and holy cow! Their stuff just keeps getting better and better, I mean, how is it possible for a rich creamy foundation to not only look beautiful, but actually last as well (without oxidation) on an oily gal like myself, I`ll never know. This is much more emollient than the Cream Fix Foundation N, but blends even better, doesn`t sit in pores and gives a really high coverage that just looks natural (and this from a woman who prefers sheer coverage). There is no fragrance, this one needs a primer (I like the primer, too), and it is best applied with a brush (I used the Artis one). The only downside is that jar that can get messy. What to do??? I am so torn between this one, the CDP Radiance Cream, and La Prairie. Problems like these, I can live with.
UPDATE 12/22/2016:
I went back to the Suqqu counter to get more samples of this foundation because I wanted to see if it works just as well with my other primers (sunscreen, Burberry Fresh Glow, etc.) Basically I wanted to see if it wore that well the previous time because of the primer, and if so, would I have to splurge for both? If you factor in the price of the primer, too, then this foundation is up there in price with La Prairie. Happy to report it that it wore beautifully with all my other sunscreens and primers, although it does look at its best with the Suqqu primer, truth be told. This is why: that primer color corrects pretty nicely on its own, and you only need to use the TINIEST, TINIEST bit of foundation to bring this look together and make it flawless. So in the end you will be saving money because you won`t be using up the foundation even if you wear it daily. I think it is worth the splurge if you live in a cold environment, but for me I am still considering, because I live in Japan, and as we speak it is 20C outside, and even in the coldest months it never goes below -4C.
