My absolute FAVOURITE contour & brightening powders. I chose this over the Anastasia Contour Powder Palette. It’s that gorgeous!
First of all for reference my skintone is inbetween Nw15-Nc15, I’m extremely neutral toned and fair. And even though you’d think the contour powder is too dark for me, trust me it’s amazing!
Both powders are creamy to the touch, FINELY MILLED & have NO KICKBACK when you dip your brush. Your brush is evenly coated in one dip and they literally last ALLLLL DAY.
Contour colour:
– A gorgeous cool-toned bronze. It has enough coolness to it where it looks natural on my neutral skin tone, but it doesn’t pull grey at all!
– Blends so smoothly on the skin
– Great pigmentation, it’s buildable without going patchy as you layer.
Brightening powder (I use this for my undereyes):
– A banana powder that doesn’t pull yellow when applied to the skin, even if you are fair!
– Really brightens the undereyes without adding dryness
– Sets concealer beautifully, keeps it creaseless
Overall it’s a FANTASTIC product, perfect for people who want a quality product that isn’t complicated & looks amazing on the skin. Not to mention you get 18 grams of product! FULLY RECOMMEND

This is the only contour I’ve used for the last 2 years and I’ve never found the need to look for another product. For reference- I have dry, cool-toned skin around NW15/NW20.
This contour duo is perfect for my needs. I’m not a makeup artist or anything, so I don’t need to have a whole palette of contour colors. The highlight is a buttery yellow shade which is subtle enough to lightly dust everywhere without making me look jaundiced, but still has a brightening effect when used more intensely under the eyes. The contour shade is a really nice cool-toned brown/taupe color. On my skin tone it nicely emulates a natural shadow without looking grey or muddy. However, it’s not warm enough to use as a bronzer if you were hoping for that.
My favorite thing about this duo is the formulation. The powders are finely milled and incredibly smooth, without being overly dusty or kicking up excess product. They have enough pigment to show up without too much effort or building up, but aren’t so insanely pigmented that they’re hard to blend. I find with a lot of products lately, brands are focusing just on the pigment- these show up just fine, but you can take time to build them up and blend them out.
The only downside I can think of is the price, but you get a pretty good amount of product for the cost. Like I said, I’ve had this for just over 2 years now. I don’t contour regularly, maybe 1-2 times a week, and I have maybe a quarter-sized pan in each of the shades. Also, because the compact is so big, you get a really nice, big mirror. I always bring this when I travel because the mirror stays propped open when placed on a table and I can see my whole face in it. Also, the latch to open/close it comes loose sometimes and doesn’t click shut, but it works most of the time.
Overall, simple yet excellent product and I would definitely repurchase when I finish up my current one.

My favorite contour kit hands down!

I’m a fan of minimal base makeup. I use the yellow side to set my foundation (which I apply mostly around my T-zone, so I don’t need much), with the brown shade I do subtle contour. This powder is just gorgeous- finely milled, smooth, my pores actually look smaller when I apply it. It gives flawless, almost skin like effect. It’s not a must have product but I enjoy using it.

I’m a noob at contouring & highlighting.
So I went to Sephora, not knowing what to get. I thought i’d get a “starter/ beginner” contour&highlighting kit.
The low range options were not to my liking.
I knew I had to pick powder ones as my nose tends to get oily,
The Sephora staff tried to help me given my budget of less than SGD40. She picked out the Tarte Beauty To Go Deluxe Contour Set which came with a free brush. But when I tried it on my hand, there was nothing subtle about it. A tad too shimmery and not forgetting about the crumbly bits that just doesn’t seem to make a good impression on me. I would imagine it falling off my skin and flaking everywhere…
After milling through the store for about an hour trying out different products, I spotted this pretty looking palette. It was of course way off my budget but it looks absolutely sleek and the fact that it’s big would mean that it would last me a long time.
Albeit that I’m a beginner at contouring & highlighting, the subtle tone and finishing makes it easy for me to blend and remove as I please.
Pros:
– easy application
– matte finishing
– good for oily or any other types of skin.(my nose is oily but my cheeks are usually not)
Cons:
– there’s really quite a lot of it so it will last you a long time
– slightly pricey but value for oney given the amount
– kind of big to be carrying it around during travels
– weak staying power, fades after half a day or so
I’d like to try other contouring palettes before deciding if I’d like to purchase this again. But right now I’m pretty satisfied with this

HG product right here. Highlighting and contouring has become a huge step in my routine. For light daytime look, or a glam night out, I can’t not contour and highlight! I have always found it so hard to find the right contour shade, not just for my skin tone, but in general, as a lot are too warm or too grey, or golden. This shade in the mirage filter 40 is so amazing for my skin tone, light-medium in winter, medium-tan in summer/after vacation. It doesn’t look muddy (at least on me) at all. It is very creamy and lends like a dream. I find I can use it lightly for day time and harsher for night. I find a lot or products are either or, or just chalky/muddy looking. As for the brightening/highlight shade, I love it as well. Especially when I am in a rush and don’t have time to take out a million products. I personally like to set my whole face with a translucent powder or light coverage powder foundation, then use the yellow shade n the ares I was to brighten up (just like with a highlighting concealer.) Triangle under my eyes, between brows/mid forehead, bellow my contour to make the light sharper, and chin. This is also dream to blend out. I think it’s 100% worth the price as you get so much product, with a very sleek packaging, and a huge mirror. It is quite large, but it’s thin so it doesn’t take up that much room, if you want to travel with it.

I adore this product! It took me a lifetime to find the right contour pallate for my skintone. I adore the shades and the mirror is top quality.
I find it is a little espensive and although it is worth it, I wouldn’t buy again because Marc Jacobs are not cruelty free and I was very upset to discover this after having bought the product because I really do love it but that’s a deal breaker I’m afraid.

This is a decent palette. I am mostly a fan of it because the design is wonderful and it is a perfect size to keep even in a small purse for touchups; however, it cannot be compared to the Kat Von D or Anastasia kits. I feel like the color doesn’t transfer as well onto the face as the other kits’ colors do. I don’t use this as my “go to” contour palette, but I do enjoy keeping it in my bag for any slight touchups I may need (or to just use the large mirror.)

Amazing. HG contouring product. Very finely milled and blends beatifully.

The contour shade is amazing! I don’t really care for the setting powder just because I don’t really like pressed setting powders. Its on the pricey side but you only need a little and this is quite a large palette. Doesn’t have a weird smell or anything. Recommend this if you want to splurge.
