Really greasy and I have dry skin, I would not touch this with a barge pole if I was oily. I like that it blends down to the point that you can not detect it, it may be tempting to use more- don’t you should not be able to see your contour unless you are Trixie Mattel.
The price is ridiculous and you would only use 2to 3 shades. I suggest buying individual shades in a formula that suits you and blends with your favourite foundation.
I only purchased this on a whim to see what the fuss was about and because it was on sale.

Medium-Tan
Works wonderfully on my lightly tanned skin. The darkest color Havana can also be used as a bronzer. The shade 10K(highlighter)a gold color is a beautiful color on tanned skin.Subtle, yet effective.I like subtle highlighting and contouring, so this kit really works for me. I have had this kit for almost 2 years and still a lot of product in it.Although I don’t use it everyday.Money well spent.

Shoulder shrug of a product for me. It’s not bad, but it’s not holy grail.
I had actually purchased this when I wanted to learn how to incorporate contouring into my makeup routine. I definitely don’t regret the purchase because I learned the type of tones that looked best on me by mixing powders and how to apply. So as a learning tool the palette was wonderful. I also never had issues blending out the product and it’s definitely easy having a plethora of shades in one place for use; however, it definitely faded more on my skin by end of day than other contour products.
Honestly, I probably wouldn’t recommend spending the money unless you are a makeup artist. I feel like there are so many good products out nowadays it makes more sense to pick the individuals items that look best for YOUR skin rather than these “one size fit all” palettes.
Then again, if you love the convenience of a palette (or like me you want to have an assortment of colors to learn how to contour) – maybe? But I think it would be smart to go to stores and swatch different palettes to see which one has the best assortment of tones that will work with your skin tone (wish someone would have told me that!). I know we are all different so this could definitely be someone’s perfect fit!

Packaging is really awful for the price.
Colours are really warm and dark for some one who is cool toned / fair.
Biggest con is that it breaks my skin out. Struggled with cheek acne for over a year and never linked it to this contour. I have gone a week without wearing it (switched to smashbox) and no new pimples. They were painful and red – not like a normal pimple, which suggests irritation and deeply clogged pores from the ABH powder. Acne was literally on my contour line of my cheek. Don’t know why I’ve never thought of this before! Definitely never using again.
(I understand this doesn’t happen to everyone but if u have sensitive skin be careful!).

I have confession to make…..I really don’t use my kit for contour….well, somewhat. I use the shades on my eyes. So, one day, I was running low on my favorite nude eye pallette and I had this idea to use my ABH contour kit on my eyes! WHOA! it made my brown eyes look smoldering and bright for some odd reason! I couldn’t believe it! My go-to shade is Earth; on my eyes and contour. The kit is so nice for a 20 minute face for work, even going out! The one AMAZING thing is the shades are not too red, orange or brown, they are just the right amount of warmth and I APPRECIATE that! Anastasia hit it out the park again! I was very pleased with the product and will repurchase time and again.

I have the cream contour kit I found it at TJ Maxx and I use it A-LOT but the only issue I have with it is that the dark brown fades over time on my face but I think thats just me. this is the only cream contour I’ve ever used.

I like the contour shade and bronzer but i dont really like the yellow powder. When i put it on my undereye it really looks cakey and patchy. I really wanted to love the yellow shade but its really not working. I even tried using a damp sponge but it made worst. I use every technique but nothing works. I dont know if its just me. Probably wont repurchase this.

So I realized I’ve had this for years and I’ve never written a review. I recently bought another one actually, so this is gonna cover both the regular palette that first came out as well as the tan to deep palette.
First of all the formula of these are awesome. I understand people find abh contour products difficult to work with but there’s a reason as to why they perform the way they do. But I can’t go into that at the moment in as much detail as I want to but hopefully I’ll revisit this later and update. Basically the difficulty in getting pigmentation or the stiff texture helps with creating a more realistic looking shadow than having a smooth buttery application which leaves a line that’s nearly impossible to buff out without ruining products sitting beneath.
Second I want to thank Anastasia from the bottom of my heart for making AMAZING and realistic colors for ethnic women, brown women, deep skin toned women etc. THANK YOU.
I’ll see products made for deeper skin tones or different undertones and while they work I felt like there’s something missing or off at times. With ABH the colors are spot on for what you would find in warmer complexions or olive undertones etc. I know people dislike these products and say they’re too orange or what not but the thing is not everyone’s contour is supposed to be grey or even a neutral brown. I learned that the hard way. Shadows come off on people in different ways and a color that looks like Cheetos on one person looks like a sunken cheekbone for another person. Also some people prefer warmer tones to contour with for other reasons so keep this in mind when purchasing. If you are very fair skinned and have an undertone that works best with grey colors swatch these in store cause I feel people don’t do that and then are disappointed and wish they got the Kat von d instead. (And funny thing about that palette is as well loved as it is it looks unnatural on me cause the undertones don’t work with my skin tone. So you can see how this whole proper or realistic contour shade works.)
The staying power is pretty good over a cream but it needs a setting spray if you want it to be perfect for 7 plus hours.
The texture of these are soft and very smooth although they may not apply as such (you won’t get full pigment when applying).
They blend okay but I would suggest blending while applying / doing light handed circular motions when applying.
The colors in the tan to deep are great for skin tones nc45 plus but if you have a much deeper complexion I would go online to get carob as it’s not available in the premade palettes.
The colors in the regular one work fine for cheek contour on my nc42 skin tone specifically java and Havana. I gravitate more towards Havana as well as shades from the deep palette. The tan to deep palette also has shades I enjoy bronzing with as well if that helps anyone. Java in the original palette works as a realistic and undetectable contour for me while Havana I love to use for cheekbones.
Overall I would repurchase in a heartbeat, I would recommend it to anyone for who a grayish contour may not work/the Kat von d doesn’t work for.

I absolutely love my contouring kit. worth every cent

I’m insanely pale and the light-medium contour kit just doesn’t work. It goes on patchy, the top shades don’t show up on my skin and the bottom three shades are super dark. It would work for someone not as fair as me but I’m gonna have to sell it on.
