Worked really well. Very good pigment. Easy to blend.

I really like it but the darkest shade is very dark even on me and I’m Indian (nc42-44). I use it very lightly. It’s a great product for the price.

The price is awesome, but in my case, I could only work with the darker shades. The light shade seems powdered chalk! Hated it! I only used it a couple of times because I have better stuff for contouring.

HG contour kit!! This is just what I was looking for. This kit is so pigmented and it’s so easy to blend. All the colors work perfectly on my skin tone (nc35) Yes it’s a bit powdery but just tap your brush before you apply it to your face. The contour and bronzing powder are matte. The highlight has a bit of shimmer, not glitter. The shimmer on the highlight powder is a beautiful pearl shimmer. Be sure not to over apply the highlighter or else it will look straight up white. It can be easy to go overboard because it is so beautiful. I purchased mine in a low-priced clothing boutique for $6. I need to get a backup soon!!

I got all the available City Color Contour Palettes (Contour Effects, Contour Effects 2, and Contour and Define). All three palettes contain a good amount of product and are very inexpensive. The contour shades are highly pigmented and you only need to use a light hand. The bronzers are a bit dark for my complexion that I usually use them as my primary contour (contour and bronzer shades are all MATTE). The highlighting powder in every palette are not too shimmery but they do give off the right amount of subtle glow on your cheek bones. The only palette with a blush s the Contour and Define Palette. I am not a big fan of the blush but I only got the palette for the contour and the bronzer anyway. Overall, these products are great and cheap. It is a must have for everyone who wants to experiment with bronzing but does not want to splurge on high end brands or the more expensive drugstore bronzer from Physician’s Formula.
By the way, the Contour Effects palette mimics the packaging of the Smashbox Contour Kit inclusive of the bronzing guide on the underside of the flap. I have not tried Smashbox but for a fraction of the price, I think I can settle for City Color.

Amazing palette! HG! I got mine off of amazon for $5. I think I seriously need to pick up a back up, it is that good. So blendable perf colors for me…I would much rather use this than my NYX palette which was 5x more expensive. I love the diagram too. I use the flat elf contour brush (studio). The best $5 bucks spent in a very long time…!! 🙂 I think they are ~$10 now still s bargain. I’m into strobing now thou 😉

I am amazed with their pigmentation….
The packaging is so slim , not so much products inside their slim and thin packaging
The reason why I only give it 4 stars is because they are a little hard to blend and if you apply too much, you will ended up looking like clown! 😀 Soo…. a little goes a longgg way
I willll rebuyyyy!!!!!!
also, The highlighter is wayy too much sparkly ang glittery looking for me ( I am NC20)…….. i only use it for the bridge of my nose

I absoluely love this product with all my little heart. I found it on amazon.com and paid probably 10.00 for it but for that price its basically a steal. I’m kind of new to countouring but that’s okay because this comes with a helpful guide when you open it that teaches you how and wear to apply each shade which is very helpful if you’re new like me. The powders are very pigmented which is great for such a low cost product. over all this countour pallet is my favorite for now and I will buy it again when I run out.

Ladies and gents, I’ve found my first true hidden gem.
The mall is one of my least favorite places to go, so imagine my displeasure when my boyfriend told me he had to go to the bathroom just as we were about to leave the biggest mall in our area, and my personal nightmare. Lucky for me, right next to the mens room was a jewelry and accessory store, so I decided to kill time there.
Naturally I walk directly to the back of the store, looking for a clearance section, and to my surprise, I found the largest section of beauty supply store/drugstore makeup I’ve ever seen in my life. They had everything from NYX, City Color, L.A. Girl, and even some Korean brands. Yes ladies, I went insane and made it rain. (Seriously though I spent half my paycheck. It’ a problem) My boyfriend returned from the bathroom to see me with a basket filled with discounted makeup goodies, and a receipt as long as my arm. He buried his head in his hands.
I mostly raided the L.A. Girl stand, but as I browsed everything else, I spotted this little Contour palette. I usually wouldn’t buy something like this, I had never heard anything about it, and there wasn’t any way to swatch it in store. But, all of them were gone except for 2, so I figure there had to be a reason that it was almost sold out. Long story short- there was.
I have been using this for about 2 months now, and I’m head over heels for it. I paid about $9 in store, but on the website it sells for $19. For the money, you get a bronzer, a contour shade, and a highlight. The love affair started with the bronzer, it’s perfect. I have fair skin, so I didn’t know for sure if it would work, but it’s not orange-y, it’s not too cool, and it’s not too dark. The contour shade scared me a little, it’s very dark and very cool, but I make it work by mixing it a little with the bronzer.
The highlight in this palette REALLY scared me, so much so that I didn’t use it for the entire first month I owned it. It’s very white, and it has visible glitters in it, I’m sure you can tell why I didn’t touch this to my face for a while. One day though, I applied this before I took off my makeup, just to see how it looked. It isn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be, since I imagined it would be chalky, glittery, and stark white. The glitters aren’t completely noticeable, but I don’t get any highlight effect whatsoever. Pretty disappointing, but regardless, I would still repurchase the palette for the bronzer and contour shade.
When I use the palette, I apply the highlight first, I don’t really know why, I just feel like everything blends better in the end that way. Then I take a large fluffy brush and bronze up the face. After that, I take a more precise fluffy brush and tap it into both the contour and bronzer shades, and place it under my cheekbones, jawline, and temple. Afterwards, I have been using the Wayne Goss technique of lightly buffing everything together using a soft fluffy blending brush, and a pressed finishing powder. The result is beautifully blended and flawless!
For $19 online, I think it’s a great deal, but if you see this in store for less money, don’t even think twice about it. This is truly a hidden gem!!
