I liked this conditioner but I wish it had more slip for detangling. It worked pretty well as a leave in conditioner. Overall, I think Alaffia offers other conditioners that work better at a more economical price point. I have no plans to repurchase this item.

I have pretty low-maintenance hair. It’s low porosity, neither thick nor thin, untreated, and mostly straight with a slight body wave that I like enhancing. I wash it maybe 3 times per week and let it air-dry and rarely heat style so it’s very healthy.
I bought this conditioner because the ingredients looked good. Unfortunately, this leaves my hair looking frizzy and dull and feeling rough and tangled. I need to add a leave-in conditioner and a hair styling product with humectant ingredients (e.g. glycerin) in order to gain back shine and manageability.
This offers no slip, so I can’t imagine how those with more textured hair could use this to detangle. It is very light and absorbs very fast but doesn’t really help weigh down hair in order to keep things smooth and to define waves.
The scent is not great. You can tell it’s made from real shea butter as it has that earthy, smoky scent. They added some sort of other fragrance but it really doesn’t help at all. Fortunately, the scent does not linger after you rinse the conditioner out.
I went back to using my Kiss My Face conditioner and was shocked at how great my hair looked and felt compared to when I was using the Alaffia product. The only good thing I have to say about it is that the packaging is very attractive for a mid-priced product and it doesn’t build up at all. Would not repuchase.
