Surprised at the mixed reviews, as this has worked really well for me. I`m guessing hair products are very much a personal thing, though. Anyway, agree with a reviewer on here who said the texture is watery, but I found that texture to work really well for coating my hair evenly and for soaking into my strands. I actually feel how this product is absorbed into the fiber, unlike another similar textured conditioner from the Kerastase line, Chroma Captive. That one was indeed disappointing. However Lait Cristal makes my hair more manageable and free-flowing and silky and shiny. It`s been absolute love for the past 2.5 weeks. For reference my hair is thick but incredibly damaged from coloring; roots that can get oily quickly and dry, long ends.

I bought a travel size of this and didn’t like it. For a high end conditioner it was very watery which I would never expect from this line. I’ve used several of their products and this one just didn’t measure it. I also didn’t notice a difference in my hair.

I wish I had read the reviews of this product before buying. I was intrigued by this conditioner as it is aimed at those of us with flat roots but dry ends, which perfectly describes my hair. However it did NOTHING for my dry ends. My ends aren’t even that dry as I have fine hair but as the ends of the hair are the oldest I like to show them some love. I would say this is a conditioner for normal hair not for anyone with dry ends and certainly not for those in need of a deep conditioner as this just doesn’t cut the mustard!

This conditioner works amazingly for me. I have naturally I’d say medium texture, a little dry with a natural wave. This works for me, I use it with either the Kerastase mousse from the couture styling line or the oleo leave in curl cream and great hair days. Especially with the leave in cream i get a decent amount of volume and de frizzed hair but still has a nice texture that doesn’t look like i’ve over conditioned or been too meticulous with my hair. Just great products if your hair is damaged or you regularly colour your hair this will not work for you and these products aren’t supposed to be an intensive conditioner for your hair – Kerastase has masques designed just for that. My takeaway advice from this review, read PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS!

Live in a town where is always 80-100% humidity, this works well without making hair look oily. I have bleached hair and this gives great condition still, amazing

I don’t really know where to start with this product… it has to be my holy grail for hair care, and I don’t throw that term around lightly. I received the Cristalliste line (shampoo, conditioner, styling serum) in a beautiful holiday boxset on Christmas and it has completely transformed my hair. Honestly, I was shocked when I looked up this line and found such poor reviews… I was expecting 5 lippies all around! I don’t usually write reviews but I truly felt like I owed it to this product because it’s given me so much confidence hair-wise. I really, really love it.
Let me premise this by describing my hair: naturally wavy, medium thickness, past my chest, coloured once a couple years ago. Not damaged but probably a lil on the dry side. Though, it gets oily quite fast between washes, especially at the roots after a couple of days. I try to space out my showers so I don’t strip my hair & the only styling tool I use is a straightener (no hairdryer due to laziness).
I know you should try to match the product to the hair – if it says fine, it’s meant for fine hair, straight, it’s meant for straight, and my hair is definitely not fine or naturally straight. I don’t really know what it is but this product just works magically for me. My mom has used Kerastase products for as long as I can remember (I’m pretty sure she uses the Bain Satin system right now) and whenever I’ve nabbed a bit of her product for myself, I’ve never been impressed. I was definitely a bit skeptical at the get-go with this product, but the packaging won me over (super pretty light pink with cute typography and a refreshing fragrance).
First use wowed me. I’ve used Moroccan Oil products, Pantene, Oribe, etc, and my hair never felt as clean and light as it did the first time I used the Cristalliste Conditioner (along with the shampoo). I instantly fell in love. Since I don’t use a hairdryer, my hair air-dries, and it used to always dry somewhat heavy-feeling and a bit tangled until I worked it through with a brush – my hair was so manageable & shiny after using this, I felt like I didn’t even have to brush it. I follow up with the Cristalliste serum before I straighten my hair.
Here’s what I love the most: previously, during humidity season or a particularly rainy day, at the faintest contact with water my hair would frizz up and take on its natural curl and there’d be nothing I could do about it. I live in snowy, rainy Toronto with super humid summers, so my hair would get ruined on a regular basis. After using this line, specifically this conditioner along with the serum, my hair has survived unscathed during all of the drizzly gloomy mornings I’ve had to trudge through on my way across campus. It’s almost unbelievable for me, because frizz is something I’ve had to worry about my entire life in most climates. No product has EVER fixed that for me before with just a wash and a quick straighten. And on top of that, my hair keeps its shine and body for DAYS.
Like I said, my hair isn’t fine, and it definitely isn’t naturally straight, so I’m not sure why the product works so well (after reading other reviews). The hairdresser who recommended this stuff to my mom when she was purchasing it for me said it was perfect for younger, teenage hair, so that might be the reason? I’ve been learning the hard way recently, after years of mooching products off my mom and friends, that you really have to be scrupulous with your products – make sure they address exactly what YOU have and what YOU want to see happen, and that you use just the right amount of product, etc. So I guess this is the perfect formula – not too thick, but extremely nourishing. Definitely see if it works for you – I think it really depends on your hair. If it does, you will get compliments.
The only downside is the price and the amount of product – I wish you got more for your buck; the bottles are easily $50 here. But I will definitely continue to repurchase. Totally worth it in my opinion.

It really upsets me when people don’t read a products description and then come here and give it a bad review. While I understand not all products work for all people, if you use a product that is clearly not suited for you and your needs, it’s not the products fault. This line is made for naturally STRAIGHT, and undamaged hair, not curly, not wavy, not frizz prone hair. Not all, but many of these poor reviews are by people who do not have hair suited to this formula. I have long, (past the bra line) stick straight hair that is thin and fine. This entire line worked very well for me. While my hair has been lightened on occasion, and sometimes colored, it is in pretty good condition, with minimal damage overall. These products will not deep condition, nor repair damaged hair. This shampoo and conditioner leave the hair, very clean, light, and shiny. I find the conditioner to be quite nice. It does lightly condition and smooth, making hair easy to brush and helping with tangles. My hair easily tangles, and after using the conditioner in tandem with the shampoo, I can easily run a WetBrush through my hair after a shower. It has a mild fragrance that does not bother me, though I do not love smell, I do not find it off putting in any way. It does add tons of shine, and movement to the hair. My hair is soft, smooth, and polished after use. I do not heat style my hair in any way other than blowdrying. This line is made for people who have straight hair, and who wear it straight. When I read the product description, I thought, “This is made for me!” After coming to MUA and reading the reviews, I was put off and considered not getting it. I’m so happy I did! I can only speak on the formula that is made for thin, fine hair, I have not tried the formula for thick hair. Please don’t be scared by the reviews if you are considering the Cristalliste line..if you have naturally straight hair, that you also wear straight, and your hair is undamaged, this may be what you’ve been looking for. On the whole this line delivers what it advertises.. shiny, soft, weightless care for hair that is STRAIGHT. I have not experienced any abnormal buildup and am very satisfied overall.

Although I love Kerastase producs in general, I really didn’t liked this conditioner.
It made my hair very dry and frizzy (and I have more greasy hair natural).
I used it for +- 2 months (I was hoping it would get better) but it clearly wasn’t helping.
The conditioner also ‘promises’ shine, and my hair didn’t shine at all from it.
The scent is very good but personnally I wouldn’t recommend it al.

I bought this product without reading the reviews here . After I bought it I read all the bad reviews yet I still decided to give it a try and I must say this product worked really well for my dry hair ; my hair is very smooth and touchable , I can run my fingers through it and I’m generally impressed to the point that I want to buy the hair mask from this range. I guess It works best for people with virgin hair like mine (I don’t use much heat and my hair is also bra strap length )
Edit:
After a while I started noticing that it wasn’t giving my hair the results I was looking for and to hydrating enough. I loved the smell though

I’m surprised to see such a low rating for this product. I bought Cristalliste Lait Cristal per recommendation from thebeautydepartment.com, and it’s the second conditioner I’ve purchased from Kérastase (previously I used Lait Vital from the Nutritive line). I think it works really well with my virgin, fine, straight, bra strap-length hair. It looks shiny and healthy after using this product. Some conditioners can make my hair look flat if it’s too moisturizing but Bain Cristal seems to work perfectly. The product has a nice and subtle floral scent to it. The packaging of both the shampoo & conditioner is super pretty and girly (pink). Although it’s fairly pricey for a conditioner, I would definitely recommend this line for low-maintenance hair types, but if you’re looking for a very moisturizing conditioner this is not for you.
