I’m the daughter of a hairstylist – so all I’ve ever heard for 40 years is don’t use cheap products on my hair. I have read multiple articles and the cosmetic chemists all say “there is NO difference between drugstore and salon brand hair products.” SO I took the leap and tried the Pantene Sheer Volume conditioner. I was actually a little scared that my hair would just break off after one use – my Mom instilled this in me. One thing I loved was the smell! I have very long, fine, dry colored hair so I wanted the moisture without the weight. Paula Begouin said this is a great product for my hair. Final verdict: Loved the smell, hair was bouncy but it felt a little dryer than my normal Redken conditioner.

Decent Conditioner. Nothing special. I have to let it sit in my hair for a couple minutes for my hair to feel moisturized though.

I’m surprised at the negative reviews. I found it to do a superb job of detangling and softening my hair with zero weight after rinsing out. I love it so much I am going to buy the shampoo as well. At 50, I find that my hair has thinned significantly, and most conditioners are too heavy, weighing my hair down and exposing too much of my scalp. The trick with thinning hair to keep that to a minimum while still maintaining health in what you have. I wash with Redken cream cleanser once a week to take out any buildup and hard water deposits. Then I use this. My last rinse is with filtered water. Some Small Talk by TiGi and my curls are good to go! Yesterday I felt the air flowing all through my hair down to my scalp, and it felt great! LOL

This conditioner is just ok. I love the shampoo in this line, but I feel like this conditioner is a little bit lacking. It doesn’t do a whole lot miniaturization wise, I feel like the shampoo was more repairing to damaged hair than the conditioner. I can get away with using this conditioner in the summer when it is humid, but in the winter this conditioner leaves my hair too dry for the already dried out air…causing a ton of static. I think this conditioner is better for someone with healthier hair, as it is a very light conditioner. I prefer others, as this one just doesn’t cut it with my fine, dried out hair.

I bought this along with the shampoo hoping to get moisturization for my dry, flat color-treated hair. I don’t have super dry hair but my hair is dry from coloring, heat styling, drying out from the sun etc. This conditioner was thick but did little to moisturize my hair. It left my hair dry and not softenened even though I used a hair oil and other silkening products. Volume I did achieve with this product, so I feel this product is trying to balance volume without heavy moisturizers but it just did not do it for my color-treated, dry hair. I can’t imagine it working with anyone with color-treated hair unless your hair isn’t damaged from the process at all.
I continued to use the matching shampoo plus pantene’s daily moisturizing conditioner. I still got decent volume and the moisture I needed.

I bought this shampoo to get me buy until I received my regular Biotera Color Safe shampoo in the mail, my aunt who is a hair stylist has used Pantene to switch it up for years. This shampoo lathered nicely and didn’t tangle after washing, which made me think this would be a good buy for me. However, my already fine hair seemed noticeable more fine after one use: very contradicting to what this shampoo initially promises. This shampoo was not for me, but perhaps someone with thicker hair would have more luck?.. Definitely my last gamble with over the counter hair products.

I love this and the conditioner! I have wavy baby fine hair which I hate and gets so tangled and snarly it’s almost impossible to tame. This stuff makes my life easier and doesn’t make me want to shave my head. My hair afterwards feels moisturized and not dried out. I also don’t need a 1/2 bottle of detangling solution to get through the rats nest. I know Pantene gets a ton of hate but if it works for you that is all that matters! This works for me.

I like this shampoo. It lathers nicely and rinses out good. My hair fades at the same speed it would if I was using a regular non color shampoo though. But this stuff doesn’t leave my hair feeling stripped or overly dry.

This is one of the best shampoos I’ve tried.
I recently began to use Pantene (several versions) and compared to anything else, it’s amazing.
Rumors of hair loss, wax, and impenetrable build up are overstated. But some people will swear that Nostradamus predicted Pantene’s maniacal emergence into this world, destined to leave scorched earth (and hair) behind.
Not so much. The lather is great, I love the fragrance, it cleans my hair well and conditions it enough that it shines and bounces. If one formula doesn’t fit, this would because it’s light enough to clean effectively while only leaving a trace amount of conditioner on the hair.
If anything changes, I will edit.

Okay, I have been a Pantene user since high school for the most part. About eight months ago I bought this shampoo hoping to preserve my color job. Well ladies, it did nothing in the way of preserving the color on my stray grays. If you want to preserve color, your shampoo cannot contain sodium sulfate in any form….this does. Furthermore, I have just recently realized this shampoo was seriously causing me some major hair loss. Thankfully I (had) thick hair or I would be bald by now. We are talking handfuls in the shower, handfuls after combing, handfulls when running my fingers through my hair. One day on a different shampoo and NO HAIR LOSS. Not to mention I now use half the amount of conditioner I used to and I can actually run my fingers through my hair without getting stuck. Less dandruff, less oily scalp, less itching as well. Research since then has told me to steer clear of any shampoo and conditioner with any type of silicone as it coats the scalp and causes hair fall, along with coating the hair so no moisture cant get into the shaft. A sick cycle leading to dry and brittle hair. Do yourself a favor, throw away any shampoo and conditioners with any type of ‘cones’, or for that matter sulfates, then never look back!

Alright. So I tried a couple Pantenes because I had to know what all the hate was about. I bought this, the intensive repair, the Moroccan oil, and the daily detox type (creamy version).
Pantene has a reputation. Either it’s being savaged by angry people who allege that wax is deposited on their hair, or hailed by people who say their hair has been transformed. I can understand both sides and here’s why: it DOES leave my hair very soft and conditioned, which means it deposits some kind of treatment on hair. When mine dried, it wasn’t huge and voluminous but I noticed a distinct wave pattern and ringlets at my shoulders which are most defined when a cleanser doesn’t strip them out. Some people might feel like it’s not clean. I can tell it IS clean; it just has an extra layer of conditioning along with the matching conditioners I used. It doesn’t feel greasy. It feels soft.
Now about the lurking wax: I don’t feel like my hair is coated with anything suspicious. It feels tamed, and again, that’s because these shampoos are designed to condition while they clean. So it really depends on what you like. If you need that super-clarified feeling all the time, then the conditioning agents might not be pleasant. But for those who want clean AND very soft hair: you don’t have to worry about wax. Your hair won’t fall out. In fact, these shampoos might help prevent it.
I’m going to continue with these for a week then see how I feel. I do want to add that the lather is really foamy and it’s not too difficult in the rinse-out.
EDIT: I can’t stop myself. I need to say that these shampoos are AMAZING. I use them with my favorite Suave conditioner and my hair (and skin) feel great. I refute the allegations of wax on hair. Mine hasn’t felt this clean and soft in years. And like I said, my skin is silky too. I’m happy.

I love this shampoo! I am a natural blonde who has colored her hair a LOT (going lighter, darker, going red) over the past 5 years so it is fairly damaged. I get a lot of flyaways due to how damaged it is. However I noticed this shampoo makes my hair look a LOT better without weighing it down. I have fine, thin hair and most damage repair shampoo/conditioners would weigh it down making it flat but not this one. I can immediately tell it is repairing my hair as after washing my hair with this shampoo, while still wet it doesn’t feel rough and stripped like it does with other shampoos. Even before conditioner my hair feels smooth and healthy. As far as color preservation, it is hard to tell as I use color depositing shampoo 2x a week in between this shampoo/conditioner so my color is constantly being rejuvenated, but I would assume this shampoo is better at color preservation than most since it is so gentle. It doesn’t feel like it is stripping my hair and roughing up the cuticle, but rather like it is rinsing away the oil/dirt and sealing the hair shaft. I recommend it if you have fine, limp colored hair that is damaged…you can’t go wrong!
