I’m not sure how to feel about this conditioner. On one hand, it makes my hair soft and a bit more smooth. On the other, it leaves it looking more limp than usual and I don’t think it rinses out as well as it could. It’s a thicker formula but not super moisturizing. I never used the original cherry almond products but this one smells exactly like cherry cough syrup. The scent is strong and it lingers. I’m not wild about it but it doesn’t bother me. Also, I’m not a fan of the packaging. It’s hard to squeeze out the product and the cap collects a ton of water in the shower. Overall I’d probably just rank this as an average conditioner. I bought it because I wanted to try something from Vidal Sassoon and now that I have, I probably wouldn’t repurchase since it’s nothing really special.

This conditioner does not work well on my fine, oilier at roots hair. It leaves it feeling rather dry. It’s not the same scent that I remember, either (I used to use the original in High School). It used to have a lovely, sweet almond scent. Now it’s heavy on the artificial cherry and reminds me of cherry cough syrup, with a strong chemical note. I emailed Vidal Sassoon and they admitted it may not be the same. Very disappointing 🙁

while I did buy this for nostalgic reason, I have repurchased twice because of performance! Lately most shampoos and conditioners irritate my scalp to the point of pain, bleeding and severe itching. Not this VS conditioner. It does a good job of moisturising and detangling my snarl-prone, curly, fine, long hair too! The scent has become secondary, but still nice. An unexpected winner in my book!!

This is no better or worse than the average drugstore conditioner. I was happy to see the old school Vidal Sassoon cherry almond shampoo and conditioner available again after so many years being absent from the market! I always enjoy trying products from my youth and in terms of the scent, this smells exactly as I remember, so I believe they did a great job at replicating the classic Vidal Sassoon scent of the 80’s and 90’s. I enjoy the scent a lot, not only for the nostalgia effect, but because it smells heavily of almond and is not overly fruity and/or floral scented like many of the hair products currently on the market. In terms of conditioning, it does just fine; no miracles, but then again I’ve yet to find a drugstore conditioner that I love. This gets the job done and is very reasonably priced at approximately $4.00.

This conditioner did a decent job of conditioning my hair. The bottle says it’s for normal hair- medium conditioning without weighing down. I’d say that’s accurate. I smoothed it on, rinsed it off, and my hair feels soft and conditioned. This conditioner is being marketed on the basis of its scent. It has what is apparently the old cherry-almond scent from the original Vidal Sassoon products. I don’t remember the original scent, but I love scented hair products and was happy to give this one a go. I found that the scent is indeed, VERY retro. It’s not just a cherry almond scent. It’s some cherry and almond, but laid in a perfumey musk. I wouldn’t say that either cherry or almond are the predominant note in the scent. It’s really more a kind of heavy, musky perfume. I honestly don’t care for the scent all that much. Those who have previous experience with this scent will know what they are getting into. For those who are new to the scent, don’t expect it to smell exactly like cherries and almonds, because it doesn’t. Also, the scent is strong.
