This gets 1 star for the misogynistic name. Dumb Blonde? I’m sure that name was funny to the marketing man who came up with it in like twenty years ago but c’mon guys! It’s 2019! Why do I want to purchase something with a name that is a stereotype that has held me back my whole life.

This is one of my favorite conditioners, especially in the summer. I do have reddish blonde hair, but it can be used on any color hair. It says it is a “reconstructor for after-highlights, damaged, or chemically treated hair”. I swim a lot in the summer so the chemicals in the water and the sun really does some damage. This conditioner leaves my hair silky and fresh. The tropical scent is amazing. This rich, thick conditioner is a summer staple for me. I’ve used it for about 6 years now.

This is a really heavy, concentrated conditioner. Because of that I can’t use it after shampooing, it’s just too much for my hair that way. I use it as a pre-shampoo treatment once a week. I apply it to my damp hair and let it sit for about a minute, then I shampoo and condition as usual. I do notice a difference when I do this. My hair feels healthy silky smooth and so strong afterwards. It smells very nice like piña colada and cake.

The negative reviews are so strange to me – because this product is my everyday conditioner. I have highlighted blonde hair that is fine and very long. It never leaves me with greasy residue, like some of the other reviews say… I wonder if they are washing it out properly? I get great volume – even if I let my hair just air dry.
The smells is amazing, the texture of the conditioner is think – and I honestly wouldn’t use anything else. I love that it comes in a pump too.

I am so shocked by these reviews. I love this and use it with the matching shampoo, I have the big 750 ml pump bottles.
I have very thick curly highlighted hair that generally feels like straw.
I love the smell and how thick the product is. I will admit it does feel like it leaves a residue when I rinse my hair, but once my hair dries there is no residue or greasy feeling.
My hair feels great and looks great. Its soft and not straw like at all.

So I got this for Christmas as I’d seen it in the shampoo store and at the time I was a platinum blonde- I thought for the price (like $35 a bottle) and the brand this surely must be awesome for my hair? Right? WRONG. DO NOT BUY!! Even if you stumble across a good review the majority are saying the same thing! This stuff once in your hair just won’t wash out no matter how long you try so when you go to blow dry and brush your hair, prepare to lose a lot and have your locks feel like straw! I think this is the worst shampoo/cond I’ve ever used in my life you’re honestly better buying a $4 supermarket shampoo if dumb blonde was your only option. This is the most damaging cond. I’ve ever put in my hair and trust me, you do not want to waste even 10 cents on this product. By dumb blonde they must mean “We made such a crappy product for blondes maybe they’ll be dumb enough to trust us and buy it”?.

I used this product a while ago and had a similar experience to many on here. I used this with the corresponding shampoo. I found the smell okay, not great. The conditioner itself was very thick so I used very little. I had to rewash my hair. This left a gross film that made my hair look and feel like I hadn’t washed it for 5 days. My hair tends to be oily anyways so this added fuel to the fire. Gross. Couldn’t even use as shaving cream to use it up.

Dont use if your hair is in good ir reasonably good condition or you will be left with an oily coating. I only use on the very very ends and then I rinse like mad. If I use it all over it feels awful like other people are saying. It is for damaged hair only really. It does absorb after a while and within a couple of hours I cant feel the coating at all. It had rescued my really dry ends.

I bought the shampoo/conditioner combo at a salon for a decent price. Well no wonder. The shampoo does smell fruity and pleasant, then you get to the conditioner. It smells disgusting! Like it has been urine infused. On top of that, they both leave a gunky build up in my shower that I have to scrub off every time! That can only make one wonder what it is doing to my hair. I haven’t been impressed with that either. The smell is so vile I couldn’t use it one more day. So much for THAT deal!

I have used Dumb Blonde many times over the last several years. I think it is a great reconstructor, not necessarily a great conditioner. Dumb Blonde is packed with proteins to help strengthen bleached, damaged, over processed hair. It is truly not meant to condition already fairly healthy hair. I have a feeling many of the negative reviews are from people not using it for the proper reasons. I usually use Dumb Blonde every other week and deep condition after and I always have good results. If your hair is very damaged, or tortured as mine is, give Dumb Blonde a try. If your hair is in fair condition, stay away!
