I very much dislike this conditioner (yet quite like the matching shampoo). I find the reverse wash system idea a bit gimmicky (as you can do this with any shampoo and conditioner, they don’t need to be designed for that purpose). The scent of this conditioner is horrible: a very fake, cheap, overwhelming synthetic floral. I also don’t find the conditioner works well at all, and I need about 10 pumps for my long (yet fine!) hair. The matching shampoo is a good basic shampoo for many hair types (I have fine straight hair, my husband has thick curly hair, works on both). It cleans well, rinsed easily, doesn’t irritate either of our sensitive scalps, leaves hair fresh, not over-stripped. I do find that I have more flyaways on my fine hair with this conditioner/shampoo, particularly when I use the shampoo with its matching conditioner first. I don’t find the scent of the shampoo to be unpleasant or overpowering and it does not remain on my hair. I would recommend the shampoo but very much warn against the conditioner. I am quite disgusted by the conditioner actually.

This is by far my favourite conditioner (and shampoo) system! After years of using professional products I saw this at the shops and decided to give it a try as I love volume, and it really does work!
My hair is very curly, frizzy and dry after many years of processing. This gives it the right amount of moisture without weighing it down. I also use the shampoo, and have begun using the blow dry cream and mouse all with great success! I’m saving myself a fortune replacing my highend products. To achieve maximum volume I blow dry my hair and set the blow wave with problo

I bought the pair (pre-conditioner and shampoo) together. Why I strayed from my HG Living Proof I will never know. Maybe it’s because I had a coupon. The packing is fine but the shampoo bottle is bulky with no pump unlike the conditioner. I have very fine hair but LOTS of it. I’ve been mainly having an issue with static lately and the back of the bottle specifically mentions decreasing static. I followed directions using the pre-conditioner, waiting 1 minute, rinsing, then shampooing. The smell is AWFUL, a fake and synthetic floral. It actually triggered a headache. Things went okay and my hair was very soft and easy to comb through while damp. I added my usual products and blew it out. I haven’t experienced the amount of static my hair produced in a very long time, exactly what I was trying to avoid!!! My hair was flat, full of static, and the smell unfortunately lingered so long I had to wash my hair the next day (and I only was every few days). I hate this pair so much that I actually contacted Tresemme for a refund. Fine haired or migraine suffering ladies beware!

Bought on a recommendation & I HATE it so much. the conditioning first does nothing for my hair.., I did that once & wont ever do it again. My hair is bra strap length and I need some moisture left on my ends or my hair looks crunchy & just not cute. and this conditioner (used as a 2nd step) is crap. It smells bad & it dries my hair out. I use it on my daughters hair now, and I can’t wait for it to run out.

Day one and I like it very much. My hair is not weighted down yet I was able to comb through it. It was a bit odd to apply conditioner to dirty hair, especially when you have styling products in it, however once rise it and then shampoo it, it’s pretty great

The Beauty-Full Volume Pre-Wash Conditioner and its matching shampoo are Tresemme’s foray into the reverse-washing trend. I was already doing reverse-washing (not exclusively, but when I felt my hair needed it) using products not specifically designed for that purpose, so I was excited to snap these up. Unfortunately, the ordinary conditioners and shampoos I was using to reverse-wash did a better job. A much better job. The Tresemme Beauty-Full Volume products aren’t terrible products–and I can see them working passably well for someone with “normal” to thick hair–but they weighed my fine hair down. They truly have no business being marketed as volumizing products, and I am rating them accordingly.
Some other peeves:
1) This is on me for not reading the directions (though I could be forgiven for thinking I already knew how to wash and even reverse-wash my hair), but you’re supposed to rinse the pre-wash conditioner out of your hair before using the shampoo. This is contrary to best reverse-washing practice, which is to use the shampoo to wash the conditioner out of your hair. Before I read the instructions, I used these products in just that fashion and was horrified at the greasy hair that resulted. I don’t usually have a problem when using that method with other products! (Once I started using the Beauty-Full Volume products as directed, the greasiness wasn’t as bad, but it was still there.)
2) Why is the bottle of conditioner half the size of the bottle of shampoo? I already go through conditioner a lot faster than I go through shampoo, so this was extremely annoying for me. The mediocre packaging score I awarded (three lippies) reflects this annoyance. The bottle itself is attractive, and the pump works well.
This conditioner is inexpensive (I believe I paid around $5 a bottle), and Tresemme products are often on offer. But the Beauty-Full Volume line is a miss for me. This seems to be the case for about every other Tresemme product line I try. Some are wonderful and some are…not wonderful. If only Tresemme hadn’t discontinued its wonderful Youth Boost products–now those were excellent for volumizing!
